for the reason you mentioned: speed. He's the only one who has any. But Coughlin probably doesn't trust him in pass protection, so we'll only see in KO returns, not at RB.
he's not good. He's insurance in case of another injury.
Comical. Let me ask you what you base that on. His 10 carries behind a crap line? Or his kick returning ability makes you believe me can't be a running back. Please clarify this confusion.
is as capable as any other running back on the roster of being stopped in the backfield by D-lineman who went through the middle of the Giants O-line like it wasn't there.
This. They have to, HAVE TO be able to open some holes for our RBs. I don't know if the issue is strength, speed or what but they aren't getting the run blocking done.
Guys like Williams will kill you if you give them a little hole to get started. Jennings only needed a crease because his 0-60 time was very fast.
demarcos murray torched us yesterday
but there were many plays where he was also dropped for no gain
the difference is murray is fast and has great vision
actually i think williams lacks vision there were some plays where he ran right into defensive players at the line where a cut back might have gained him more yards
cox looked very good on returns he ran fast and picked great lanes .
I just think he might be a change of pace type back who could open up the running game a bit
He's been on the roster for a few years, never plays and seems to have excellent speed. How the fuck is the coaching staff going to know what they have in this kid if they dont give him a legit shot? Give him 15+ carries and see what he can do. Can't be any worse than watching williams get stonewalled at the line of scrimmage on every run play.

Not sure what's comical. I base it on my own eyes and evaluation from two pre-seasons, multiple regular season games last year including one start and the fact the Giants cut him this year and even with the dearth of running back quality in the NFL no one bothered to snag him even for their own PS. Not to mention their own lack of depth knowing already there was no Wilson they cut Cox with just Jennings, Williams, and Hillis as viable RB options. Shows you how much they value him.
He is the worst of all KR options the Giants have and the worst of all RB options, including Peyton Hillis.
His 22 carries for 44 yards last year are pretty compelling evidence he must be the answer at RB. Watching him return kicks last year was painful. I prayed for touchbacks so I didn't need to see him tackled at the 17 yard line every return.
Sure, he's the saviour. Just give him the ball coach.
Has zero clue where to run the ball. The game is too fast for the rookie. Cox has a year under his belt. He would do better but behind this oline, how much better?
Also knowing we can't run makes everything harder on us. No respect for our run game.
runs like a cement truck. Good ST guy and pass blocker, but you don't want to hand him the ball, unless you're running out the clock with a big lead.
A somewhat contradictory statement. If he can run out the clock that means he can get 10 yards per every 3 downs minimum. If he can do that, why do you think he can't run the ball during the rest of the game? He was 6-29 yesterday.

But overall, there was not much room to run. Cowboys were stacking the box and in the backfield all day

Remember, Cox during pre-season never had opportunity to have 1s blocking for him. And, you get better by playing.
