Rice has maintained he did not lie in his testimony to Commissioner Roger Goodell, and his legal team will make the case that even under the NFL's new domestic violence policy, and as a first-time offender, Rice should be suspended a maximum of six games, which has already passed. Furthermore, they will make the argument that the video tape of Rice's actions were available to the team and the league throughout the process of determining his discipline, and thus nothing changed whatsoever with the case from the time Rice was suspended two games, until eventually being suspended indefinitely, save for TMZ obtaining and posting the video. Numerous legal experts I've spoken to believe Rice has an exceedingly strong case, and, considering it could be Week 10 or so before this hearing is resolved, it's hard for them to conceive that Rice isn't reinstated by Jones as part of her decision. If he is, would a team like the Colts, coached by former Ravens assistant Chuck Pagano who thinks highly of Rice, or New England, where Bill Belichick has very strong ties to Rice's college coach, Greg Schiano, take a chance on Rice if they need a running back down the stretch? We just might find out. |
Yeah, baby.
He'd bring a lot of talent and likely a relatively cheap price. And we all know Reese does well on "prove it" deals.
I'm sure i'll get shit for this, but i'd seriously expore it if I were Reese.
think of it as karmic payback for doing the right thing and releasing Will Hill, it's doing the right thing for the other players former team to allow him some civic redemption.
That and in a month we will likely be out of the playoff picture and we'd still need time for him to get into gameshape. Just don't see how its even possible for this team.
A contender like New England would make sense, not a team that will struggle to get 6 or 7 wins.
And I would argue, big of a piece of shit as Rice is, the union should easily be able to get that suspension overturned given the way Goodell bungled the process.
or Michael "flaccid" Cox.
Hill was a habitual offender though. Rice just this one incident. That said Rice was not looking effective as a player any way.

But as another poster said, he's "too hot right now" still and I just don't see it happening.

too bad Hill was harming no one but himself. Although in certain states, it is legal. Whatever NFL. Thanks for suspending our 2nd best secondary player.
As my intense passion about sports dwindles as the years go by, not supporting the hiring of a piece of shit is really easy. I'd lose a huge amount of respect for this franchise.
Winning isn't everything, especially when the Giants winning does nothing for my personal benefit outside of saying my team won.

Did you watch the Giants when Christian Peters played?

Did I ask about your dwindling passions. I hear Viagra may help. It's also to grow and evolve and realize what you posted.
I also think one incident doesn't make a person a piece of shit forever
It is humorous that people want Will Hill back when he had been a pile shit for years besides the pot smoking.
And I'm not lobbying for Rice to be signed.
And my opinion is just that. I don't expect everyone to agree with me. Many of my friends are totally cool with rooting for the dog killer or however many rapists roam the league as long as their team wins. I think thats shitty, they don't.
But Ray Rice is in fact a piece of shit for KOing his wife. Maybe he cleans up and never does it again, but that again has nothing to do with me. I won't support him and I'd be really disgusted if we ever did hire him.
Him getting a 2nd chance is between him and his potential employers, not me or anyone else on BBI.
But I'm inclined to agree with Paul Blake's stance here
More heinous than Rice, but it means that even the most liked guys can be absolute pieces of shit.
In any case, we aren't hiring that baggage considering said baggage looked awful so far this season (and that was before being away from football for 2 months or so).
Exactly what I told her!
-Ray Rice

Yeah, baby.
Fully agree with this.
Also this. He'd be depth/a backup. not something the giants would do, and IMO not something they should do either.
Also, I find it hard to believe he'd be able to contribute a whole lot this season in the final month or so not knowing the playbook. He doesn't have much left to offer - a year or two maybe, and can he be better than last year? Just don't see the reward being enough for most teams.
Bring in Rice but if they did, he wouldn't be depth, he'd start over Jennings.
The Pats make the most sense. Boston is the most racial/non sensitive market in the country. They live and die on what Belichick says and does. They could get away with the bad publicity hit.
Rice would also help them immensely.
The thing about Rice is, the TMZ video is damaging but what people fail to realize is that Ray Rice was the face of the Ravens, the Cal Ripken of football for Baltimore. He was hanging with the elite politicians, had more charities than anyone else, he was a pillar in the community.
Belichick could make that work, if he could sell Kraft on it. Ray Rice would be a very nice addition to Tom Terrific's anonymous arsenal...
So, since Myra Kraft is no longer living, I guess there's a shot, but think it's a longshot he signs with the Patriots.

Thats what all the Jets fans said about Vick too.
What job fires someone for some PTI deal? Very curious.
It's a long shot he signs anywhere.
I know what he did is reprehensible but I hate to see TMZ ( which represents all that is wrong with today's society) win.
I'd like to see him get a chance to redeem himself, there's been far worse scumbags allowed to play because twitter didn't exist...
and the Patriots are an obvious potential landing spot if it does happen this year, with the Ridley injury
LT had sex with a minor and I bet half the board would run to get a picture taken with him.
It's nice when you have a stand up guy as a star. LT was the best ever but I wouldn't let him pick up my kid from school, ya know.
We're watching a star QB who raped a college girl in a bar bathroom with hired security keeping people out. He got married as quick as possible and it all goes away. He's still a scumbag that deserves his ass kicked but I'm watching. It's football , I don't give a shit about your personal life, what can you do on the field.
Most of the people that had Ray Rice banned aren't football fans, they watch the stupid assed pre game music and then go in the other room to watch taped versions of Castle or Rizzoli and Isles. They shouldn't have any say in it but the NFL in all it's greed has opened it up thinking they can maximize their audience. I'm sure Goodell is happy he signed off on that.
