hypothetical - last Sunday's game

Cowboys miss long FG late in 4th quarter. Giants get the ball back and go on a long TD drive, scoring with just a few seconds left in the game.

28-27 Dallas.

Do you have the O go for two or kick the extra point and take your chances in OT?

coughlin has never ever been that risky, the last time i remember a coach doing that was Cowher way back in 2001 or so..
You go for 1 until you are absolutely in need of the 2.

Unlike that cocksucker Peyton Manning who went for the meaningless 2 in the SB and cost me the box pool. 5 large out the window.
You have to kick it in that case, because you have no running game.

As much as I like the "Go for the win on the road" philosophy, there's a bit of a Catch-22: the worse your chances in overtime, the more incentive you have to go for two; but if you figure to lose in overtime, the odds are probably also against you making the two-point conversion.

The exception would be if your short-yardage offense is very good, and your defense is badly overmatched and/or exhausted. Sunday's game qualified only on the latter criterion.
At 3 - 3

you kick the point and go to OT.

if the Giants were 0 - 6 I could see going for two out of desperation.
