Fantasy Football Waiver Wire questions...

Milton : 10/21/2014 8:58 am
I'm looking to add a RB and a WR to replace Jonathan Stewart and an extra D/ST that I currently have on my roster. Available on waivers in my league are...
RB--Denard Robinson, Darren McFadden, Tre Mason
WR--Mike Evans, Terrence Williams, Greg Jennings

Does any one of the six stand out to you as a waiver wire steal? I'm leaning towards Robinson as my priority claim (I'm 7th out of ten teams).
not knowing your team
UConn4523 : 10/21/2014 9:01 am : link
i'd say Mason and Denard would be my top 2 choices. I still hate Jacksonville but there's no denying Robinson being able to run the ball. Gerhart is abysmal and shouldn't do anything more than steal goal-line carries.

Mason looks good and has far more talent than Stacy and Cunningham.
McFadden has also been getting it done lately
Blue Baller : 10/21/2014 9:03 am : link
not a bad option as well
Keeper league?
pjcas18 : 10/21/2014 9:04 am : link
I like Mason in a keeper league.

I doubt Robinson lasts to 7th.

And Mike Evans
pjcas18 : 10/21/2014 9:05 am : link
in a keeper league.
Tre Mason would be my number 1 priority waiver claim

It's not a keeper league--and yeah, I doubt he lasts until the 7th spot, so I should put some thought into my second choice. I think all the receivers I listed will clear waivers, but all three RB's could be claimed.
Denard has the upside
kmed : 10/21/2014 9:21 am : link
but I really like McFadden. He's getting the majority of the touches and plays in every aspect of the game.
What about Doug Baldwin
Bobby Humphrey's Earpad : 10/21/2014 9:55 am : link
I'm in a 14-team league so there's not much left.
The question with McFadden is
Rocky Thompson : 10/21/2014 10:00 am : link

Why aren't they throwing him the ball more often, that's what he does, catches passes out of the backfield. I'm guessing it's a developmental thing with Carr being inexperienced. If Carr starts using that as a weapon, McFadden could blow up...

Someone in my league dropped Terrence Williams for Doug Baldwin just last week and it worked out pretty well for him.
I'm not interested in mason myself.
kmed : 10/21/2014 10:01 am : link
He played in 27 of 51 snaps and will be competing with two other guys for touches. He'd be 3rd on my list of rbs to pick up behind McFadden and denard.

Yeah, a good argument can be made for all three of the RB's and they are all superior to Jonathan Stewart (not to mention Bishop Sankey, one of my other RB's). I need another RB or two until Rashad Jennings returns.

On the other hand, this blurb from ESPN makes him sound promising going forward....
Quote:
Mason had 18 carries for 85 yards and a touchdown Sunday against the Seahawks.
Spin: Offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer said earlier this week that he was going to split the backfield touches between Mason, Benny Cunningham and Zac Stacy, until he found a hot hand, but he fully went with Mason on Sunday, as Cunningham finished with two carries for three yards and Stacy didn't get a single touch. Cunningham did contribute in the passing game, catching five passes for 46 yards and a touchdown, but it looks like Mason has taken over the carries out of the backfield. Up next is a Week 8 matchup against a Chiefs defense that is allowing 127.4 rushing yards per game this season, the 10th-highest average in the NFL.
Milton, that just tells me it's going to be a week
kmed : 10/21/2014 10:27 am : link
to week thing with those backs and it's not like they are consistent performers. Doesn't catch passes and may lose goal line. Just not someone I'd want over the other two guys who are clear cut starters and will get all of the touches.
McFadden is getting like 4-5
kmed : 10/21/2014 10:34 am : link
targets per game in the passing game. The catches are there, the yardage is not. He's a good rb3/4 desperation bye week starter. He will get the touches every week.
I guess this is a fantasy thread for the day?
Sonic Youth : 10/21/2014 10:35 am : link
I REALLY need your guys input on this monster trade I might make.

My team is in shambles right now with fjax injury. I had an awful week as my team underperformed and I played Graham (he was supposed to get snaps) who put up a doughnut.

I have:

Luck/Cam

Alshon Jeffrey/Cordarelle Patterson/Anaquan Boldin/Andre Roberts/Stevie Johnson (terrible WRs)

Gio Bernard/Fjax/Andre Williams/McFadden

Graham/Jordan Reed

This kid is trying to get Luck from me. He offered me Brady and Brian Quick (LOL)... we counter offered and went back and forth, and now we are thinking about:

Luck and McFadden for Foles/Brandon Oliver/DeAndre Hopkins OR Desean Jackson.

Do you think thats a good trade in my position? Its a PPR league. Hopkins is playing better than DJax. I'd start Oliver right away, but surprisingly, McFadden has been somewhat decent.

I could probably get my starting McFadden while Fred Jackson is hurt, but I need to desperately upgrade my WR. I'm not sure this really does much for me, but it does plug a few holes.

The more I type it out in this post, the less I like it...
I agree with trading luck,
kmed : 10/21/2014 10:37 am : link
but that's not enough in return. Luck for a stud WR should be your goal.
RE: Reggie wayne
kmed : 10/21/2014 10:39 am : link
I mentioned it on Sunday during the game, it turns out that he did have a significant elbow injury and will miss 1-2 weeks. Can't believe he kept playing, he was clearly bothered and couldn't hold onto the ball. In related news, roddy white had 9 catches, 100 yards and a TD.
Any other good WR pickups
PlaxidentalShooting : 10/21/2014 10:40 am : link
besides Baldwin?
Nicks might have some temp value
kmed : 10/21/2014 10:41 am : link
with Wayne out.
I agree with Milton.
Ry in NY : 10/21/2014 10:42 am : link
Mason is good if they have the lead like this past week but he does not play in passing plays at all. Like Alfred Morris, that kills a back, especially when the schedule ahead for STL is KC, SF, Arizona, Denver and the Chargers. Im looking at Bryce Brown for now and McFadden/Robinson.
White's already missed a game
Rocky Thompson : 10/21/2014 10:43 am : link

Reggie still hasn't and he held up longer than Roddy...
What do you guys think is going to happen in Buffalo?
robbieballs2003 : 10/21/2014 10:43 am : link
I actually like Bryce Brown better than Dixon. I am sure they will split carries but what do you guys think?
Wayne's gonna miss time,
kmed : 10/21/2014 10:45 am : link
it looked like a significant injury. I can't believe they let him stay in the game, despite him only having one arm(couldn't hold onto the ball), and the game being a blowout.
Robbie,
kmed : 10/21/2014 10:46 am : link
I think they'll both get looks until someone wins the job. I think it's a guess at this pt though.
Fred Jax when asked yesterday
Rocky Thompson : 10/21/2014 10:47 am : link

Said that Brown could carry the load.
Yahoo is saying that Brown will lead the time share with Dixon playing second fiddle unless Brown coughs it up.

Personally, I'd go with Brown, he can be explosive...
Yeah Dixon didn't look that dynamic
PlaxidentalShooting : 10/21/2014 10:47 am : link
It was just a numbers game with Brown
I don't like either guy. Both are temp plays
kmed : 10/21/2014 10:49 am : link
and their schedule is not conducive to RB production.
Yeah I was watching that game
Rocky Thompson : 10/21/2014 10:49 am : link

My wife smacked me when I saw it and yelled oh shit in front of the kids.
I lost several players this week...
Question
HeftyLefty : 10/21/2014 10:53 am : link
Who do I drop: Andre Williams or Pierre Thomas who is out 3 weeks for Tre Mason or Bryce (have 2nd waiver)

Other rbs are Lacy, Ellington, Tate .5 ppr

Luck is too consistent for you to give him up for anything less than a #1RB or #1WR in return, someone who is good for double digit points week in and week out.
p.s.-- And who knows what happens with Oliver once Ryan Matthews gets healthy.
RE: Bryce Brown
Milton : 10/21/2014 10:55 am : link
When he was with the Eagles, he put the ball on the ground at an alarming rate.
Bills next 4 games...
kmed : 10/21/2014 10:56 am : link
Jets, KC, Miami, jets.
Yeah, there's that
Rocky Thompson : 10/21/2014 11:25 am : link

Jets 8th against the run.

Too many questions about Brown and Dixon for me to waste a # 2 pick on one.

I'm gonna hope Tavares Cadet or Stepfan Taylor clears and grab one of them...
i should have stashed them

Need RB2 Help
Sly Guy : 10/21/2014 12:49 pm : link
I've been offered Martin and Seahawks/Chargers Def for Antone Smith and Eagles Def. My other RB2 is Benjamin Cunningham (My 2 Bills RB got hurt this weekend). Is that a fair deal?

Or...should I wait for the waiver to pick up someone? I'm afraid he may pull the trade offer if I'm waiting for someone on the waiver

dont need a qb back you have Cam. Just trade luck for a stud RB or WR
the Luck
allstarjim : 10/21/2014 2:01 pm : link
Trade is terrible. Decline. I would definitely do the other trade to get Doug Martin. I don't think u are losing much by letting Antone Smith go.
The Luck trade is not worth it.
Sly Guy : 10/21/2014 2:14 pm : link
I'm actually trying to do a trade for McFadden. What a coincidence lol. McFadden will get 5 - 10 points on average and at this point, I'm willing to accept that from a RB2.

I'm concerned about the Doug Martin trade because I'm giving up Eagles Def. They have been a stud most of the season long and have a decent remaining of schedule.

Alright...Just accepted the trade
Sly Guy : 10/21/2014 2:40 pm : link
How pathetic does my team look now? (I'm 3-4)

12 Man Standard

QB: Ryan
RB: Charles, Martin, Fred Jackson, Cunningham
WR: Brown, Nelson, Gordon, Holmes, Cooks
TE: Gronk, Donnell
Def: Seattle

I'm one game behind in the playoffs but have to jump over 3 people to get in.
Trade Question
SB : 10/21/2014 4:07 pm : link
Would you trade Bradshaw to get Beckham? I am thin at WR (Julio Jones, Sammy Watkins and a bunch of crap - Sanu, Quick, Lafell). Thin at RB too but am hoping Jennings and Mark Ingram return to form.

PPR league BTW.

I am also considering Bradshaw for Russel Wilson, since Matt Ryan is my QB and he has been crappy lately.
Bradshaw is very valuable
Sly Guy : 10/21/2014 4:22 pm : link
If you can package him to get Wilson, then definitely pull the trigger.

Bradshaw should get you a low-level WR1 or top WR2. I wouldn't trade him for Beckham.

I tried getting Bradshaw and Maclin for Antonio Brown. It was turned down.
Trade Help!!
mik999999 : 10/21/2014 5:05 pm : link
Here is my team
QB Romo
RB Sankey
RB Mckinnon
WR Dez
WR Benjamin
Flex Michael Floyd
TE Cameron
Subs:
WR Roddy White
WR Beckham JR
RB Ball
RB Stacy
WR Crabtree
WR Gordon
WR Holmes

Non PPR, standard everywhere else. I was just Offered Eddie Lacy and Lamar Miller for Dez. Do I pull the trigger getting two starting backs for Dez with the WR depth I have? This is a very competitive league.

No way for OBJ. I'd be okay with it for Wilson (especially since he's had his bye and Bradshaw hasn't), but I'd have to see the rest of your RBs to know for sure if you have to do that.

Terrible trade for you, Lacy is all name. He's not a good fantasy back with Rodgers and that passing game. A little better in non PPR leagues, but not good at all. He will be TD dependent with 50 yards rushing every week. I like Miller for his all around game, but Dez is one of the best. You are getting destroyed with this trade.
