I had never had McDonald's breakfast before, and today seemed like the opportune time to give Apple Pay a shot. FWIW, I got a McGriddle. It tasted like a heart attack, but man was it good.
It was a pretty surreal experience, and it was completely seamless. Pulled my phone out, selected the credit card I wanted to use, and boom. Done. Worked exactly as advertised. One thing about Apple, they (usually) nail these things the first time around. Kudos to them.
Has anyone else tried Apple Pay yet?
You shut your whore mouth.
Apple invented this. It's completely brand new and made by Apple so it's awesome.
Yeah, but did you sleep on the sidewalk for right to pay $600 for your Android?
The way they have it set up is likely more secure than using your debit card or credit card right now
I'm not a paranoid person by any means, but giving into the man in this fashion seems like an odd choice that I will give a lot more time before considering.
Lmao
Does android have finger print ID?
lol yup first time. got the same reaction from a few coworkers.
well aware Apple hasn't invented this technology, but I don't use Android and found the experience worth sharing.
Does android have finger print ID?
Yes.

----Yours truly, snap chat celebrity picture hacker - you can't keep me out, no matter how hard you try
Seriously, it's connected to iTunes which has proven to be hackable and hacked many times.
I don't see the benefit.
if the goal is to not carry a wallet, great they've got the millenials as a target, because I'm able to pay for stuff in a matter of seconds with my credit card now and this will not save time. Just what you need to carry. I guess.

time and Android geeks will be so fucking pissed. And I think only about 25% of android geeks have the kitkat and can even think of using it. That number will be far higher for Apple.
Does android have finger print ID?
NFC paymetns has been supported since android 4.0 ice cream sandwich. Which means nearly 85% of android phones have the software to support it.
in an odd situation where I lose my wallet, it would be handy. I still use cards because its just easier.
Apple, to its credit will make it a bigger deal then Android ever did.
As for the luddites, how is your data safer when you use a CC than this way? Hackers could still get your info from the store. If you are afraid you will get your phone stolen, there are passwords to protect your phone and this app, and banks will refund you if your CC is misused.

Not sure who the luddites are since no luddites were explicitly named, but credit cards aren't safer, in fact they're just as easy or even easier hacked (or not the cards themselves actually, but the database) in some cases because the numbers are stored with the transactions in many retailers systems. As we've all heard about several times the past few years.
My response was only to those who were drinking the apple kool-aid and saying apple-pay is "secure", it isn't and once it becomes more prevalent it will attract hackers - because the transmission is easier to intercept than a database is to hack or decrypt.
And for the record, I'm an apple user (my house has 4 iPhones, 3 iPads, many iPods including iPod touches, and Apple TV) and I'll use Apple Pay if I want. Just not seeing the benefit.
I still need my drivers license, my LTC, my medical cards, etc. so I don't have to put my credit card in there for those establishments who accept it? Not much of a value prop.

lol. the first one in that list appears to be a legit finger print lock for a phone called Motorola Atrix, of which I've never heard. The rest are faux fingerprint reading apps. But, sure. Android had it first! :)
and i have an LG g3 with a finger print unlock too
apple sucks
good point.
You keep it in your fanny pack.

Doesn't have a fingerprint sensor, as far as I can tell. So that's an app, which is not as reliable.

If you don't carry a wallet, where do you keep your drivers licence, other necessary id's, etc.
good point.
So what is the advantage? There are tap and pay credit cards are there not?
The Atrix was a high reviewed phone.... I don't think the fact that you've never heard of it means it didn't exist...
So yes, android did have it first... in 2011.
-Apple PBA card
-Apple $20 bills
-Apple key card for work
-Apple health insurance cards
and I can stop carrying my wallet. whoopee!
Lots of stores you don't even have to sign for your CC transaction if it's under X dollars, so if someone steals your card, they swipe, don't sign, and they're gone. Not a big deal for you maybe since you won't be responsible for payment, but Amex, MC, and Visa welcome the extra step of fingerprint ID.
It won't be revolutionary, but it's a pretty obvious thing to do as we continue to evolve as a society.

My fanny is big enough thank you. Damn sure don't need a fanny pack.
if you want to macdonalds and gave the person your credit card
all they would have to do is make an excuse go into back for 1 minute write down your credit card ,exp date and secure number off the back and they have stolen your card.
US credit card are the least secure in the world
most have moved onto chip on card
but Apple pay is more secure than even chip on card.

It means no one bought them, or at least very few did. The fact is that many 5S's and 6's have been and this Apple Pay has a more secure implementation than Android. The adoption rate will be very high for this technology because Apple did it right. The fingerprint scanner being on every new phone is a compelling feature for folks.
Android was first and failed. The good news for Android users is that Apple making this mainstream will allow them to use it now, too.

And your information will all be super secure with Apple! Because there are never any data breaches or design flaws with Apple... NEVER
Say whatttt??
They have been doing this for years in Korea. They slowly leak this shit out in the US because we swallow it up so quickly.
... Except it didn't fail.... The NFC payment stations have been at most chain retailers for over a year. I've been using it for over a year off and on.
Look I'll credit Apple for innovating when they innovate, but they didn't do shit here except copy a well established Android feature and market it better. Its really pretty absurd.
Jk

It's not a design flaw, it's a feature. Only Droidiots use their phones to actually call people.
