I think the Giants have some key players

NY-Fan : 10/21/2014 2:30 pm
to move forward with and build around. I really like these players to hold onto and continue to build around.
Jennings
Williams
Randle
Beckham
I believe Cruz will be back he is a fighter
Donnell
Pugh
Richburg
Pierre Paul
Hankins
J. Williams I think he will continue to improve
Kennard
DRC
Prince
They need to focus on the the interior O-line, could use a solid OG. Also they need another physical young pass rusher, need to focus on linebackers, nickel corner and add speed at safety. Overall I like what they have going forward they just need to make solid decisions in the draft next year and not take any gambles on players.

This team has nice young talent that in time could really improve. Remember guys like Barber, Toomer, Diehl, Osi, Strahan and others took some time but turned out to be great Giants. The list above looks promising to move forward with. If I was J.R. Those are the players I would focus on. There are a few more like Bromley and Moore that also could develop.
seriously ? you left Manning off that list

who the hell is your qb? Nassib?
Eli has been the only thing great about this year, he had the biggest question mark heading into this season and so far he has been lights out. only 5 ints.. this time last year he has 15.. he is taking care of the ball and is throwing high percentage balls and tds.. im very happy he is rebounding, my only fear is that we don't win very many games due to injuries and the D not performing and Coughlin gets the axe and a new system comes in again next year
Did I really need to put Manning?
NY-Fan : 10/21/2014 2:38 pm : link
I figured that was pretty obvious. If protected Eli could play 4-5 more years of solid football.
No.

Be sure to leave off key players. I LOVE incomplete lists!
All I see
McNally's_Nuts : 10/21/2014 2:43 pm : link
are Manning, Jennings, Beckham, Cruz, Richburg and Pugh on the offensive side of the ball.

On defense its much worse. I see Moore, Hankins, MAYBE JPP if they re-sign him, Prince and DRC. That's about it.
Jennings is 29 years old
SHO'NUFF : 10/21/2014 2:53 pm : link
We need a speed back to take some carries away from RJ...Williams is a perfect 4th quarter running back
We need an impactful.......

2015 draft to go along with two pretty good subsequent drafts. Guys that contribute in 2015.

And spend prudently in Free agency.

If we do that, we will be playoff contenders again.
Schwartz and Beatty?
BillT : 10/21/2014 3:34 pm : link
They are going to be here and be starters for the foreseeable future. And Moore deserves a mention and probably Bromley as well.

No, Donnell or Williams or Schwartz? No Kennard or Ayers or maybe Bromley?
just list the whole 53

to be on the safe side
That list is depressing
Patrick77 : 10/21/2014 4:24 pm : link
On defense long term I would list:

JPP
Hankins
Prince
DRC

as guys we would build around

Kennard
Bromley
Williams
Paysinger
Herzlich
Cooper
Berhe
Moore

as guys who might stay on as depth or grow into roles.

On offense:

Manning
Beatty
Richburg
Schwartz
Pugh
Beckham
Cruz
Donnell
Jennings

are the hopeful future.

Randle
Parker
Jerrigan
Hynoski
Williams
Mosley
Nassib

Might be worthwhile depth or worth keeping going forward. Lots of holes and not much real depth right now.

long as we have coaching specials we'll have a shot.

Positions with a glaring lack of talent include LB,safety,Guard, tackle, DE and RB. Otherwise we are fine.

Should be here too
I agree with the basic premise of the postq

The sad thing for this year is that only 2 of the 5 O-Line starters are on the list. We need at least 4 to be a consistently good team and we are very far from that. We do absolutely need to concentrate on the O-line this coming off season. And I'm talking about expending three top draft picks on it which is really what Reece needed to do this year.

There is no team speed
Earl the goat : 10/22/2014 11:44 am : link
None in the secondary

None at the RB position

No speed or playmakers at the LBer position

Giants need to draft speed
