No you shut up, I'm pimping them again.

So fucking good.

Seeing them Saturday night, so more pimping to come. - ( New Window )
Their show last month here in NYC was terrific

Enjoy!
Where did they play in the city?
Davisian : 10/21/2014 11:25 pm : link

Dave in PA : 10/22/2014 5:53 pm : link
But Greensky is quality
Every time I go to my sister's house
Rocky Thompson : 10/22/2014 6:12 pm : link
She plays Greensky trying to get me off classic rock and into something different. I kept blowing her off. I figured she was ragging me cause I moved to the South.

I was at a fund raiser for a UNCW Baseball player who was killed by a drunk driver leaving a wife and 6 month old behind.

The person running the fund raiser got Mellonbelly to perform, for free. They rocked!
They played a whole sprectrum of music but plenty of bluegrass. I talked to them afterwards and mentioned Greensky, they talked them up for a solid 5 minutes. Been hooked ever since.
One of the things I was dragged into kicking and screaming and actually enjoyed. Pimp away Dav...
They played Grammercy Theater, which is a room I really like.

I'm a big railroad fan too.
I haven't heard of either before.
Ira : 10/22/2014 6:48 pm : link
but I like both.
Isbell. GSBG.

Are you watching me through my windows bro?
In Burlington they covered some Fleetwood Mac
mikeygiants : 10/22/2014 9:18 pm : link
(The Chain) in their first set and the rest of the show they went into some crazy jams and played tons of old stuff. Anders tore that shit up on the dobro, the whole band was having a lot of fun. A bunch of my buddies rented a drunk bus and we raged all night.

If you're into Isbell tunes and GSBG check out Hoffman's solo/acoustic show at Bell's in Michigan from last year. He plays a lot of stuff off of Handguns. Beauty and Pain will rip your heart out.
Paul Hoffman at Bells Brewery 2/23/13 - ( New Window )
Just keep them curtains open..

That Hoffman set is fantastic. I'm still on a huge Isbell/Greensky boner ride..

I still love my Binghamton, but this music scene around Denver is just amazing..

I'm not sure which turned me off more
Rocky Thompson : 10/22/2014 10:04 pm : link

The Fleetwood Mac covers or the boner thing.

Check out Melonbelly when you get a chance, acoustic guitar well represented...
They cover a ton of stuff, extremely well.

For those who like them, check out The Infamous Stringdusters, Trampled By Turtles, Cornmeal, Fruition, Travellin' McCourys, Drew Emmitt Band, Head for the Hills, Hackensaw Boys & Rumpke Mountain Boys. I saw Jerry Douglas Presents the Earls of Leicester last week. They play only Flatt & Scruggs tunes. Epic!
