Headhunter : 10/22/2014 8:00 am
can't download it from my phone but Deadskin has a posted it. I remember it like it was yesterday, Willis convinced me right there and then that he might of been the toughest dude on planet Earth
here it is

you
haha Willis was one badass MF
Giants11 : 10/22/2014 8:52 am : link
They don't make athletes like that any more. Being age 46 If you had me make a list of the top 5 sporting moments I could go back in time to see in person him trotting out for game 7 vs. the Lakers would probably be #1. Funny it happened on my 2nd birthday too.
That

was awesome.

You had to be in the moment
Headhunter : 10/22/2014 8:55 am : link
seeing Willis walking through the tunnel onto the court and took warmups. It was an out of body moment that you never forget
If you missed

Wow, that was nuts
Greg from LI : 10/22/2014 10:14 am : link
Like, Ron Artest nuts. Willis Reed was a bad man.
I met him at...
GA5 : 10/22/2014 10:22 am : link
the NY Auto Show in the early 70's.
One word describes him at the time-intimidating!
HH yea the thing that makes that moment so special
Giants11 : 10/22/2014 11:07 am : link
is that it couldn't be replicated today. With twitter, social media and "insider experts" getting all the inside scoops you'd know at least an hour in advance that he was going to give it a go.
In the piece , it goes on to detail Reed warning his teammates after
Matt M. : 10/22/2014 2:06 pm : link
not to restrain him during a fight as they were liable to get decked themselves. apparently, while in college, he was restrained by a teammate and it resulted in him getting hit over the head with a bottle.
So.... a bit of an asshole.

I have to agree with Giants11

Willis coming out for warmups before Game 7 is one I would love to go back and witness live and in person. As a teen, I got goosebumps for King's first game back at the Garden after losing 2 seasons to injuries. Just him in the layup line was chill rendering. I imagine if you multiply that by thousands is what it was like to see Reed come out of the tunnel.

I can't imagine what would happen if 1966 Willis was transported into 2014's NBA and took on an entire team like that
I am having the biggest damn issues with Flash and Chrome
montanagiant : 10/22/2014 3:26 pm : link
Been wanting to watch this clip for 2 days and I reinstall flash and it works for maybe 2 hours then stops after 10 secs or won't start at all
lol ... fined $50 each and no suspensions.
Del Shofner : 10/22/2014 3:42 pm : link
Of course, $50 was actually worth something then.

I was at the Garden the night Willis scored 36 points with 36 rebounds. That don't happen anymore either!
That's awesome.
Dave in Hoboken : 10/22/2014 4:42 pm : link
NBA seemed kind of cool back then.
Reed
blue42 : 10/22/2014 8:26 pm : link
responded to a thrown punch by an opposition player....slow to anger but watch out. Reed could flat out play.
That special is a must for anyone who loves basketball and team sports in general.
