Honestly curious what everyone feels regarding the better of the two. Brown was an INT wunderkind safety two years ago with a miraculous number of INT's and exceptional return average, Demps was nearly the NFL's leading kick returner last year. Brown has already been benched for "schematic misconduct" by failing to properly maintain his deep responsibilities, but prior to that benching he was surprisingly strong in run support and had no turnovers that I can recall, and since that benching, has had at least one or two good special teams tackles. Since then, Demps has occupied the same role, found himself a turnover and a half, awkwardly turned the half INT back to the offense immediately, and similarly failed to make a significant number of important plays in the defensive backfield (Dallas TE Escobar most recently). Demps return average is currently near the bottom of the NFL at 20+ yds per return. I'm sure I missed a few details, but thematically and idealistically, who's got your vote opposite 'Trelle?
oh, and unless it's critical to the discussion, please don't call me out on any marginally inaccurate data as this is all off the top of my head.
Syphilis or Chlamydia?
That sad with a backup/replaceable starter, this defense still is what it currently is.
plus all the cbs. With thurmond, the plan was more nickel corner and less 3 safeties. plus i think bowman can play some safety
i'm with you, to an extent. . . but brown was a playmaker before the injury. 2 young draft picks are gonna make the team. and demps was gonna make the team as a returner. he hasn't been great on D, but serviceable.
I'd like to see the kid behr get some PT. think he is a football player, and i believe has a similar skill set to will hill, but higher character. he WAS a captain. . .
yes

at least hits people. Demps is a matador
is honestly how I feel as well. I know Brown screwed up a few assignments early on, but I thought his benching was to make a point, not b/c Demps was an improvement. Saddened to see the latter may be the case in the coaches minds.
I'll remain convinced (perhaps wishfully) that Brown would've destroyed Escobar in the endzone last weekend and nullified that TD rather than throw a half-hearted shoulder at him like Demps did. It was as if Demps gave up and started being pissed at himself even before the play was even officially over.
+1
Interceptions are never an accurately reflection of how good a player is. Folks mention his "right place at the right time" when talking about that 2012 year but fail to mention all the big plays that he was responsible for that went for major yardage and touchdowns.
