SD has had success against Denver with ball control. I dont believe it will be as high scoring as many believe. I see a 27-21 type game, and if SD runs the ball like it did last year, I can be screwed. For some reason, I think Ryan has a big game this week.
he statistically doesn't travel well and he's facing a D that gets after the QB. Detroit likely won't have Calvin again so they will likely run more and shorten the game. I'd rather be in a shootout with Peyton. A win for Rivers on the road and he leapfrogs Peyton in the MVP race, IMO.
IMO, wont make the playoffs. Everyone is jumping on them ebcause they beat Seattle at home this year (Seattle is turning out to be like everyone else in the NFL.)
Their schedule is absolutely brutal to end the year:
at Baltimore
New England
Denver
at San Francisco
at Kansas City
losing to all those teams on the road, and splitting with Denver/NE at home. I think they are a good team, but it is a pretty tough schedule to end with.
And they played some really shitty offenses lately. Oakland, Buffalo, Jets, Jacksonville.
I would trade Brandon Oliver and DeAndre Hopkins
I would receive Randall Cobb and Andre Williams (I have Jennings)
This is a PPR League and I would esentially rip my RB depth for a playoff lineup of Brady, Lynch, a healthy Jennings or Joique Bell, Dez, Brandon Marshall and Randall Cobb.
I just don't see any way Mathews isn't inserted right where he left off. You don't replace experience, especially when it keeps your MVP candidate QB upright and safely in the pocket.
He's still got good value, but I don't see the huge games others do.
gotta figure Seattle gets its head out of their ass and nuts up on defense. No Megatron most likely but Atlanta D blows so you should expect TD's to come.
SD is a good team, I 100% buy them and think they will make the playoffs. People don't realize how well their defense is playing.
I have their defense for fantasy. They havent done shit the last two weeks - in fact they were downright awful in Oakland and KC left a lot of points on the table with some wide open drops too. I think they have had some injuries though - Flowers and a few others - not sure when they get those guys back. I do know I'm not touching them tonight - I picked up Miami Defense this week as a spot play (@ Jax).
But I agree San Diego could be a WC team. They're going to battle Miami, Baltimore, and KC for 2 wild card slots. Their game in Miami next week is enormous.

Their loss last week could be crippling. KC offense dominated them. I think Rivers went one stretch where he was on the field for over 90 minutes (halftiem included).
The last game of the year at Kansas City could be for a playoff spot.
I have Jamaal Charles so was thinking of cuffing him, TE has been a question mark since losing Rudolph. Not thrilled giving up Randle who likely will be a target hog down the stretch, is Kelce that big of an upgrade to make this deal worthwhile?
I don't disagree with your opinion on Rivers. I don't love QB's on the road on a short week, but I really don't like Ryan's matchup. Outside of his home stadium, he's JAG and he's going against a top notch pass defense.
Oliver is going to have a big role in that offense
regardless of Mathews. He's most likely going to fill in for Woodhead's role at a minimum, which means he's going to see looks in the passing game and I'd assume he snakes some of Mathews carries as well. He's still going to be a starting caliber RB/Flex, but his value will drop a bit. I wouldn't be so quick to trade him unless the return was good.
I think the Saints O is going to go wild on Sunday night. It's a must win for them and they're in the dome.
Allen is going to get into the endzone eventually... I don't know if tonight will be the night. If I were in your shoes, I would be positive that Allen were going to score if I benched him tonight.. but that he would catch like 3 passes for 40 yards if I started him.
Sanders and Julius in one league, Hillman in another. I kind of want to start Rivers but I have to go with Brees. If I don't use Brees this week, there's no point in even having him.
the edge just because it gives TNF a little more juice. They've been going off for me too. But I already have Rivers and Sanders playing for me tonight.
Denver has some really good corners though. Fuck it. I'm starting Cadet.
Once you start messing with your lineup, everything gets fucked up. I already set the wheels in motion by changing my mind on Wright because of Mettenberger. I decided on Cooks and am positive I am making the wrong decision.
Sanders and Julius in one league, Hillman in another. I kind of want to start Rivers but I have to go with Brees. If I don't use Brees this week, there's no point in even having him.
You can get a great return for Brees (I'm someone that could overpay him as a Ryan/Tannehill owner).
Who should I start as my Flex?
Anthony Dixon (vs Jets)
Ben Cunningham (vs KC)
Andre Holmes (vs Cle)
Leaning towards Dixon at the moment. Can't wait for Gordon to come back and solve that damn Flex problem.
I was desperate for WR help at that point, though... I think OBJ will fix that so I'm kind of glad I held onto Brees. He's throwing for 300+ every week, the TD's just haven't come in bunches yet but they will.
As for your situation.. I'm not sure I've had good read on that BUF RB scenario so I don't know how much you can expect from Dixon. I wouldn't use Cunningham there. If it's PPR Holmes may actually be your best bet.
This is what I get for listening to you know it alls. I saw this coming from a mile away. This is the rivers we all know and love. Safe throws. Takes a risk and gets picked.
Missed field goal was absolutely killer. He is now 0-2 from 50 plus at denver. Instead of a 40 plus night from rivers and mcmanus turned into a 26 night point night because of a shitty last 5 minutes.
Only got about 4 for Julius Thomas but I'll take it. He has Rodgers and I have Brees so I have a feeling it'll wind up coming down to that Sunday night showdown.

He's awful on the road, a game here and there doesn't change the last 5-7 years. And depending on your league you still got 20 points from Rivers which is probably the minimum he'd get on a given week at this rate.

Hi guys!
So far: Denver had more TOS, 56 total points were scored in the game, Branden Oliver only had 13 carries for 36 yards, and Ryan has been a walking carcass in the 2nd half.
I really said wasnt true. Rivers did outscore him, but only by 4 points, so like I said it was a lot closer than I bet people would think. Hey, you win some... you lose some. Its ok I started both Rivers/Lafell to go along with A. Brown, Foster, Watkins, and Bradshaw.
High man by 40 points so far. No complaints whatsoever.

My score was off by 1 TD, I got the SD score perfectly. And I said if SD ran it like last year, I could have been screwed. Rivers got 16 points and Ryan actually got 12. Both QBs played like absolute ass. The difference between the two QBs was Atlanta ran for a score while SD didnt.
We all have our whiffs, no need to dig your heels into this.
Sorry, I missed the Broncos score by 8 and got SD score correct. ANd I said it was going to be a lot closer than people think, and it was an Atlanta rushing TD from being on the money.
just won the week for me against my opponent in one league.
in the other, I dropped to 1 - 7, once again outscored by a team who had his so far high score of the year with brady, lefell, tate, sanu and others who outperformed.
he had been battling me for the cellar, and puts up his high score.
while I put vereen in this week instead of Keenan allen (reverse from last week), might have been the difference might not.
A contradiction. If you don't think 8 TDs in a game is a high scoring game, I'm not sure what to tell you. Plus all your reasonings for why Rivers might not do as well was completely wrong. Ball control, running game; all wrong.
Not to mention the main reason why your'e getting called out is because you tried bragging about you knowing BBI was wrong halfway through both the Thursday night game and this Sunday morning game. In reality, you were wrong. Twice.

It's not that you were way off as much as you embarrassed yourself twice in one week on one prediction. You have to go out of your way to do that, and you did just that.
You were stomping your feet on the TNF thread on how you shouldn't have listened to BBI and started Rivers and then tried rubbing it in to BBI when Matt Ryan had a good first half. You were wrong. It's not a big deal. Accept and move on.
Rivers was the smarter play. He was. All I am saying lets not make it like Rivers had 30 and Ryan had 8. They were both pretty close this week. Which I thought initially earlier in the week.
Glad I went with Rivers/Lafell. They gave me about an extra 20-25 points.
My opponent's chances blew out as soon as Rodgers' hammy did.
Is that Philip Rivers was a no brainer, which was proven correct. He did 5+ points better. People cited the short week, playing at Denver, facing a very good team; but still gave Rivers the edge. You just feel like building a strawmen "That I knew it was going to be closer than people thought" because you shit the bed on your midgame predictions.

Umm, I said it was going to be closer than people thought the day I started the thread.
Shout out to the guy in my league who dropped Cooks.
Scooped him right up and finally made the right call in my WR3 slot this week by starting him.
Going to have a tougher choice to make next week when OBJ is off the bye.
My father dropped Brady after the KC game. Has lost 3 of the next 4 all by less than 10 points because his QBs have been shit and Brady has been awesome.

Cam Newton
ALL TD's 6 points... 1 pt every 35 yards pass, 1 pt every 10 yards rushing
They have been KILLING me all season...

Kelce for Randle is a wash IMO. So you are trading a scrub TE for a backup RB. Just not a big deal.
Would you Guys start Keenan Allen tonight.
Other options are Darren McFadden or Patterson
Delaney Walker vs Houst?
Leaning towards Allen, simply because of qb and defensive lines.

I would go Allen as well. Luck spreads it around and I think Nicks is going to be less of a redzone option going forward.
Orton. It's the Jets secondary.
Wilson @ Car
??
Now that Mettenberger has been named starter in TEN, I'm having 2nd thoughts about starting Kendall Wright. Ugh.
Maybe I should just start Allen Robinson. Dude is getting a ton of targets.
I'm really thinking of pulling the trigger on Travaris. Keenan Allen has been a mess for me.

So did you puke yet? He has 10 points in the first half. I benched him in one league and left him out there in another league.
I also benched Rivers in one league in favor of Stafford. So far, I am feeling good about that decision.
Capt checkdown.
They don't even bother running the ball. Peyton doesn't believe in balance.
Ok capt checkdown... can you get one cheap TD for me?
Seriously. That was fucked up. Ronnie had 2 "almost" TD's... then they have the ball right there and don't let him eat.
Going up against Peyton it's amazing that I would be happy if he only threw 3 tds -- guy's a machine..
Glad I didn't listen to any other jabroni.
My team has been on fire lately though, knock on wood.
I have no idea what I'm going to do when Josh Gordon is back and has a couple of games under his belt. Roddy White is probably hitting the bench.
Oliver/Floyd/Novak against no one for my other team. Would have liked one more big play to floyd but can't complain overall.

This would be the 2nd time this week. He did it halfway through the Chargers/Broncos game as well.
Ned Beatty (shoulder; for patting himself on the back too soon)
Lol
Never change brother
Forte
Foster
Bradshaw
Sanu
Miller
Tucker
Chicago
I absolutely killed it today. Chicago defense was my only negative.
High man by 40 points so far. No complaints whatsoever.

I have to figure out what I'm going to do with Vereen though. He's the type of guy I'd hate benching because Belly might decide to feed him.
I hate having options. This year I regularly make the wrong ones.
Umm, I said it was going to be closer than people thought the day I started the thread.
Going to have a tougher choice to make next week when OBJ is off the bye.
Plus, no one said Rivers was going to blow out Ryan in fantasy. Just that he was the no brainer, which came to fruition.
Now I think Kelvin Benjamin might be a good keeper option in the 12 round. that dude has some size, he's a big target.
