Two dilemmas:

Rivers @ Denver
Ryan vs. Detroit in England

Royal @ Denver
Lafell vs. Bears

Right now I have Rivers/Lafell as Royal is their 3rd WR and is too boom/bust for my liking.
Rivers over Ryan is a no brainer.
arcarsenal : 10/23/2014 8:33 am : link
I'd probably agree with LaFell over Royal.
technically a road game for Matt Ryan
UConn4523 : 10/23/2014 8:33 am : link
against a top defense...no thanks. You hope Denver/SD is a 60 point game tonight and enjoy.
Philip Rivers
SamdaGiantsFan : 10/23/2014 8:34 am : link
and its not very close for me...Matt Ryan and the entire Falcons O really struggling lately. That WR choice is a little closer, I would go LaFell
I dont think the gap is as big as you think
dep026 : 10/23/2014 8:39 am : link
this week.

SD has had success against Denver with ball control. I dont believe it will be as high scoring as many believe. I see a 27-21 type game, and if SD runs the ball like it did last year, I can be screwed. For some reason, I think Ryan has a big game this week.
if your gut says Ryan then go for it
UConn4523 : 10/23/2014 8:56 am : link
he statistically doesn't travel well and he's facing a D that gets after the QB. Detroit likely won't have Calvin again so they will likely run more and shorten the game. I'd rather be in a shootout with Peyton. A win for Rivers on the road and he leapfrogs Peyton in the MVP race, IMO.
SD
dep026 : 10/23/2014 8:59 am : link
IMO, wont make the playoffs. Everyone is jumping on them ebcause they beat Seattle at home this year (Seattle is turning out to be like everyone else in the NFL.)

Their schedule is absolutely brutal to end the year:
at Baltimore
New England
Denver
at San Francisco
at Kansas City

They could realistically go 1-4 in those 5 games.
That looks more like 3-2 than 1-4 to me.
arcarsenal : 10/23/2014 9:06 am : link
SD is a good team, I 100% buy them and think they will make the playoffs. People don't realize how well their defense is playing.
I can see them
dep026 : 10/23/2014 9:10 am : link
losing to all those teams on the road, and splitting with Denver/NE at home. I think they are a good team, but it is a pretty tough schedule to end with.

And they played some really shitty offenses lately. Oakland, Buffalo, Jets, Jacksonville.
Sell high on Brandon Oliver?
Bobby Humphrey's Earpad : 10/23/2014 9:13 am : link
I would trade Brandon Oliver and DeAndre Hopkins
I would receive Randall Cobb and Andre Williams (I have Jennings)

This is a PPR League and I would esentially rip my RB depth for a playoff lineup of Brady, Lynch, a healthy Jennings or Joique Bell, Dez, Brandon Marshall and Randall Cobb.

Thoughts?
Start Oliver tonight at Denver
Mr Brightside : 10/23/2014 9:26 am : link
or McFadden vs Cleveland Sunday?
Oliver
Big Rick in FL : 10/23/2014 9:40 am : link
At Denver. I could never start Darren McFadden.
whether or not SD makes
UConn4523 : 10/23/2014 9:58 am : link
the playoffs is irrelevant for fantasy. All of those opposing defenses are beatable and if nothing else, SD will be passing from behind.
I said to sell Oliver the week after he broke out
UConn4523 : 10/23/2014 10:00 am : link
I just don't see any way Mathews isn't inserted right where he left off. You don't replace experience, especially when it keeps your MVP candidate QB upright and safely in the pocket.

He's still got good value, but I don't see the huge games others do.
Who do you start
Pete from Woodstock : 10/23/2014 10:01 am : link
Matt Stafford
Cam Newton

ALL TD's 6 points... 1 pt every 35 yards pass, 1 pt every 10 yards rushing

They have been KILLING me all season...
Stafford
UConn4523 : 10/23/2014 10:04 am : link
gotta figure Seattle gets its head out of their ass and nuts up on defense. No Megatron most likely but Atlanta D blows so you should expect TD's to come.

I have their defense for fantasy. They havent done shit the last two weeks - in fact they were downright awful in Oakland and KC left a lot of points on the table with some wide open drops too. I think they have had some injuries though - Flowers and a few others - not sure when they get those guys back. I do know I'm not touching them tonight - I picked up Miami Defense this week as a spot play (@ Jax).

But I agree San Diego could be a WC team. They're going to battle Miami, Baltimore, and KC for 2 wild card slots. Their game in Miami next week is enormous.

Their loss last week could be crippling. KC offense dominated them. I think Rivers went one stretch where he was on the field for over 90 minutes (halftiem included).

The last game of the year at Kansas City could be for a playoff spot.
Trade Help Please
CromartiesKid21 : 10/23/2014 11:05 am : link
1 pt PPR

Kelce + Knile Davis for Harbor + R Randle

I have Jamaal Charles so was thinking of cuffing him, TE has been a question mark since losing Rudolph. Not thrilled giving up Randle who likely will be a target hog down the stretch, is Kelce that big of an upgrade to make this deal worthwhile?
that trade is fine
MetsAreBack : 10/23/2014 11:08 am : link
i dont think its worth losing sleep over Clay Harbor.

Kelce for Randle is a wash IMO. So you are trading a scrub TE for a backup RB. Just not a big deal.
dep,
kmed : 10/23/2014 12:21 pm : link
I don't disagree with your opinion on Rivers. I don't love QB's on the road on a short week, but I really don't like Ryan's matchup. Outside of his home stadium, he's JAG and he's going against a top notch pass defense.
Oliver is going to have a big role in that offense
kmed : 10/23/2014 12:22 pm : link
regardless of Mathews. He's most likely going to fill in for Woodhead's role at a minimum, which means he's going to see looks in the passing game and I'd assume he snakes some of Mathews carries as well. He's still going to be a starting caliber RB/Flex, but his value will drop a bit. I wouldn't be so quick to trade him unless the return was good.
I agree on Rivers over Ryan anyday
Koldegaard : 10/23/2014 2:15 pm : link
and I also think you should sell Oliver now.

Would you Guys start Keenan Allen tonight.

Other options are Darren McFadden or Patterson
not big on Keenan Allen...
TheEvilLurker : 10/23/2014 2:27 pm : link
I have him in FF, and he winds up spending more time on the bench.
but looking at your choices...
TheEvilLurker : 10/23/2014 2:29 pm : link

te choice

Leaning towards Allen, simply because of qb and defensive lines.

Orton. It's the Jets secondary.

I might go Wilson there.

I love Rivers but.. short week, tough matchup, road game.. I don't know. Carolina's defense sucks this year.

Now that Mettenberger has been named starter in TEN, I'm having 2nd thoughts about starting Kendall Wright. Ugh.

Maybe I should just start Allen Robinson. Dude is getting a ton of targets.
.5 PPR league
AnotherGiantsFan : 10/23/2014 7:24 pm : link
Travaris Cadet or Keenan Allen?

I'm really thinking of pulling the trigger on Travaris. Keenan Allen has been a mess for me.
Neither, they both suck.
kmed : 10/23/2014 7:31 pm : link
Here's to hoping for a big night from Hillman!
I like Cadet this week.
arcarsenal : 10/23/2014 7:34 pm : link
I think the Saints O is going to go wild on Sunday night. It's a must win for them and they're in the dome.

Allen is going to get into the endzone eventually... I don't know if tonight will be the night. If I were in your shoes, I would be positive that Allen were going to score if I benched him tonight.. but that he would catch like 3 passes for 40 yards if I started him.
Broncos games are fun for me in prime time..
arcarsenal : 10/23/2014 7:35 pm : link
Sanders and Julius in one league, Hillman in another. I kind of want to start Rivers but I have to go with Brees. If I don't use Brees this week, there's no point in even having him.
I tend to give the guys with Thursday night games
AnotherGiantsFan : 10/23/2014 7:42 pm : link
the edge just because it gives TNF a little more juice. They've been going off for me too. But I already have Rivers and Sanders playing for me tonight.

Denver has some really good corners though. Fuck it. I'm starting Cadet.
I know I'm going to regret this

You can get a great return for Brees (I'm someone that could overpay him as a Ryan/Tannehill owner).

Who should I start as my Flex?

Anthony Dixon (vs Jets)
Ben Cunningham (vs KC)
Andre Holmes (vs Cle)

Leaning towards Dixon at the moment. Can't wait for Gordon to come back and solve that damn Flex problem.
Believe it or not...
arcarsenal : 10/23/2014 8:20 pm : link
I dangled Brees and got no offers for him.

I was desperate for WR help at that point, though... I think OBJ will fix that so I'm kind of glad I held onto Brees. He's throwing for 300+ every week, the TD's just haven't come in bunches yet but they will.

As for your situation.. I'm not sure I've had good read on that BUF RB scenario so I don't know how much you can expect from Dixon. I wouldn't use Cunningham there. If it's PPR Holmes may actually be your best bet.

I also benched Rivers in one league in favor of Stafford. So far, I am feeling good about that decision.

he throws atleast 1 more before trying that out.

He's awful on the road, a game here and there doesn't change the last 5-7 years. And depending on your league you still got 20 points from Rivers which is probably the minimum he'd get on a given week at this rate.

My score was off by 1 TD, I got the SD score perfectly. And I said if SD ran it like last year, I could have been screwed. Rivers got 16 points and Ryan actually got 12. Both QBs played like absolute ass. The difference between the two QBs was Atlanta ran for a score while SD didnt.

he had been battling me for the cellar, and puts up his high score.

A contradiction. If you don't think 8 TDs in a game is a high scoring game, I'm not sure what to tell you. Plus all your reasonings for why Rivers might not do as well was completely wrong. Ball control, running game; all wrong.

A contradiction. If you don't think 8 TDs in a game is a high scoring game, I'm not sure what to tell you. Plus all your reasonings for why Rivers might not do as well was completely wrong. Ball control, running game; all wrong.

Not to mention the main reason why your'e getting called out is because you tried bragging about you knowing BBI was wrong halfway through both the Thursday night game and this Sunday morning game. In reality, you were wrong. Twice.

ok, you are right. I was way off. The difference from Ryan and Rivers was Rivers had 1 more TD and 1 more Turnovers. Doesnt get much closer than that.

It's not that you were way off as much as you embarrassed yourself twice in one week on one prediction. You have to go out of your way to do that, and you did just that.

You were stomping your feet on the TNF thread on how you shouldn't have listened to BBI and started Rivers and then tried rubbing it in to BBI when Matt Ryan had a good first half. You were wrong. It's not a big deal. Accept and move on.
I have no problem admitting

Rivers was the smarter play. He was. All I am saying lets not make it like Rivers had 30 and Ryan had 8. They were both pretty close this week. Which I thought initially earlier in the week.

Glad I went with Rivers/Lafell. They gave me about an extra 20-25 points.
My opponent's chances blew out as soon as Rodgers' hammy did.

Time to pour it on.

lol. Ouch.
The best part of this is the only thing people said

Is that Philip Rivers was a no brainer, which was proven correct. He did 5+ points better. People cited the short week, playing at Denver, facing a very good team; but still gave Rivers the edge. You just feel like building a strawmen "That I knew it was going to be closer than people thought" because you shit the bed on your midgame predictions.
I have both Rivers and Ryan as well
AnotherGiantsFan : 10/26/2014 10:54 pm : link
But the difference between Ryan and Rivers doesn't really matter because I'm currently blowing out my opponent, which is a nice change of pace.

I have to figure out what I'm going to do with Vereen though. He's the type of guy I'd hate benching because Belly might decide to feed him.
Brandin Cooks
pjcas18 : 10/26/2014 10:55 pm : link
Andrew Hawkins, Keenan Allen, Allen Robinson all on my bench for Shane Vereen and Joique Bell.

I hate having options. This year I regularly make the wrong ones.

Umm, I said it was going to be closer than people thought the day I started the thread.
Shout out to the guy in my league who dropped Cooks.

Scooped him right up and finally made the right call in my WR3 slot this week by starting him.

Going to have a tougher choice to make next week when OBJ is off the bye.
You also said you thought Ryan was going to have
AnotherGiantsFan : 10/26/2014 10:58 pm : link
A big game.

Plus, no one said Rivers was going to blow out Ryan in fantasy. Just that he was the no brainer, which came to fruition.
I traded for Cooks
pjcas18 : 10/26/2014 10:59 pm : link
Ronnie Hillman, because I feel like I'm out of it and Cooks is going to be a potential 14th round keeper for me. Plus I didn't need the RB.

Now I think Kelvin Benjamin might be a good keeper option in the 12 round. that dude has some size, he's a big target.

My father dropped Brady after the KC game. Has lost 3 of the next 4 all by less than 10 points because his QBs have been shit and Brady has been awesome.
Charles Sims..
