I recently purchased the iPhone 6. I had the Samsung Galaxy S3 and decided it would be nice to go back to apple where upgrades are handled in a more timely fashion and things "just work."
Apparently not.
Yesterday I received the notification to upgrade to 8.1
After the upgrade I go into music and basically all except for approximately 40 artists are gone. It is random. Some of them were recently uploaded as CD's into Itunes. Most purchased as Itunes.
I have been reading a lot of posts online and there is no consensus how to fix. Some say turn off syncing with Itunes. Some go as far as uploading music again. I haven't had a chance to sync with computer. I will do that tonight but looking at a few on line posts that doesn't necessarily work. My phone though shows a memory level that the Itunes are on the phone. I have a 128GB phone and I loaded about 35GB onto it.
Has anyone else had this issue? Any idea how to fix?
I don't know why it happened.
I recently upgraded from 8.0.2 to 8.1 and had no problem.

I hope that is all it takes. That will take me a few minutes this evening. I have just found though with the 3 updates over the last few weeks that with each update some "preference" is turned on that screws up how I wanted the phone to act (ie No notification sounds when phone is locked) because Apple's ultimate wisdom is to turn the phone the way they want to.
This was one of the reasons I remember leaving after the 3gs.
I called Apple and told them they released the "bono virus"
My itunes has been effed up for quite a while now. The make it worse the more they try to improve it. Its frustrating
Will stay with 8.00 for a while until they figure their shit out. At least my battery lasts half a day which is still down from a day and a half with iOS 7 but hey... beggars can't be choosers.
They are quickly pushing me to Android.
Vin (I'm sure you will pop in here)......... Hows the Galaxy?????

People seem to confuse issues with their specific phones with the upgrade overall. I have zero issue with my battery whatsoever and I'm running the same OS. Mine is lasting over a day. Either your battery is defective or something is draining it. Did you go to battery usage and check what's eating it?
It has something to do with this.
