Per NFL Network via Rotoworld:
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports teams have been calling the Titans about Nate Washington's availability.
This unofficially translates to, "We, the Titans, would love to trade Nate Washington." Already demoted in favor of Justin Hunter, Washington is just taking up roster and cap space on Tennessee's 53, and could probably be had for a conditional seventh-round pick. Unfortunately for the Titans, Washington has a guaranteed $4.8 million base salary and isn't worth half that much. They'd be lucky to get a bag of punctured footballs for him. |
HIgh base salary for a medium talent, but given the WR discussion since the Cruz injury, figured it would be interesting to hear opinions on Nate Washington. Personally, I think we can get the job done with our in-house Washington, but wouldn't be surprised to see this guy on the move before the deadline.
I'd wager we run with the horses we have already.
Go out there with Randle/Backham and see who can win over that 3rd spot. Our WR's/TE aren't the problem.
