Focusing on players. We would all like to see more wins.
I think we may need to take some chances on upside. It could very well lead towins and will certainly put the Giants in a better place to move forward. I understand that there may be some growing pains, but we are not going anywhere this year by playing it safe with personnel.
At the end of this year we need to know:
Can Moore play?
Can Richburg take over at Center?
How good is Schwartz?
Is Beckham a true #1?
Is Randle continuing to develop?
What do we have in Washington? Parker?
How good is Berle?
How good is Kennard?
How good is Bromley-Kuhn?
As a result I would like to see Schwartz at guard and Richburg at Center. Who are the best two of Jerry-Walton-Shwartz- Mosely.
Kennard starting at LB. Can he play in the middle?
A large, large, dose of OBJ
Give Washington a chance to make some plays.
D Moore needs to be on the field a lot more. He may make mistakes, but he makes plays.I think Kiwi may be gone after this year.
Play Bromley over Kuhn. Seems like he has better upside.Let Kuhn battle Patterson.
Bowman, DRC, and Prince are the best three CBs to me. Can we play them? Why Hosely and McBride?
Play Berle at safety. Can he be worse than Demps? How is that possible? Demps has played several years and has not improved.
Give some touches to Cox rather than Hillis while Jennings is out.
I hope we will not waste valuable playing time on players who do not have a future with the team. We did that last year with Diehl/Mosely, Myers/Donell-Robinson, Hillis/Cox.
We should try to go into OTA's and training camp knowing who the starters are based on real game experience and use the preseason to build chemistry and get sharp. The ability to execute as a unit may be more important than individual ability. We should not be using the pre-season as a tryout.
Offensive playbook needs to be opened up. They need rb's in the flat 75% of the time. Quick passes, less need for blocking. Trade Kiwi for a RB with Mits if need be. Use the pass to open up the run then you will see the effectiveness of AW. Beckham, Randle, Jernigan, Washington & Donnell we can do some damage.
They should reverse run on 1st n 2nd with pass on 1st n 2nd and run on 3rd with short yardage. Run the hurry up offense at least 3 or 4 series a game. Whenever tempo is needed.
You need to match up personnel with game plan and right now we do not have a running type squad with our top RB on the sideline and a hodge podge offensive line. They can't be afraid to put the ball in Eli's hands.
Schwartz (injury) Richburg to C
Moore
Bromley
Behre
Kennard
Cox
Fells
Bowman
Play less:
Walton
Kuhn
Kiwi
Hillis
Demps
Hosley
I say when Schwartz is ready to come back in, we should move Richburg to LG, Schwartz to RG and leave Walton at Center. If then fails Move Richburg to center and Jerry back to guard.
An offensive line that can pick up A-gap blitzes so Eli doesn't get killed
Aside from that, I want to know where Richburg, Pugh and Schwartz will be settling in over the next few years, and get them there ASAP. I really hope Richburg is getting reps at center by season's end. With Beatty seeming to have turned a corner, we may only be one man short up front. But it has to be one really good player, not some bargain bin vet pick-up.
Defensively, who knows? We're banged up in the back seven, and our pass rush is poor. Not a good combo. Hopefully Kennard, Berhe and Bromley get some meaningful playing time and make an impact.
For pure entertainment, Beckham is who I'll focus on. Hopefully he takes the league by storm in the second half.
2015 CBS draft prospects (center) …
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/prospectrankings/2015/C
I want to see ….
1. Send Hosely to the bench; he's a good athlete but keeps proving he has rocks for brains - give Fenner a chance
2. Two tight end set; Cruz is gone, nobody in sight to replace him. Need to change gears; Eli LOVES throwing to tight ends; the two TE set helps the running and passing games.
3. Move JPP around (just like the Texans move JJ Watt); mostly, I want to see a lot more of Moore and a whole lot less of Kiwanuka
4. I think Randle is as good as he's going to get (he's a good possession type, I want somebody who can score TDs), I want to see what Washington can do
I love Coughlin, but without wins he isn't going to be here much longer. Only one guy can put this team on his back and take it someplace and balance has got nothing to do with that. Andre Williams and Peyton Hillis into the LOS on 2 out of 3 downs for the sake of balance... Good luck with that. From here on out, I would like to see the pass set up the run. If that doesn't work, time to see what the rookies got.
Kiwanuka has no trade value, c'mon man.
Want to see the following players continue to see a lot of game reps, and to improve rapdily as I believe they've got legit game : OB, AW, Kennard, and continued strong play from JPP, Prince, Hankins, Eli. Let's see the OL improve and hopefully they begin to transition away from Walton at C (move CW). When this season's in the books, I hope they find a RT in the offseason and look at Schwartz and Pugh at the OGs. They would have enough pieces for a serviceable OL on paper, but it wouldn't prevent me from acquiring a monster OG and better suited RT.
Randle just seems to lack the ability to play the short game in small spaces, though they're still trying to get him untracked. We're going to pick up another WR in the draft to hedge him and Cruz's knee. We need to push another CB and at least one S in the pipeline, as well as speed RB and TE.
Offseason needs are still : DE, WR, CB, OL, S, LB
