NFT: My dog is in the nationals

ctc in ftmyers : 10/23/2014 7:32 pm
My German Shorthair Pointer Buddy is the first dog in the first brace of the AKC GSPCA Open Gun dog Championship tomorrow at Eureka Kansas.

It's the Superbowl in my dog world.

Hopefully he sets the standard. 7-1 hour braces a day with 84 dogs entered. Will take 12 day to run.

Yeah, I'm pumped.
So where's the pic

I have two GSPs and a retired sled dog where they bred GSPs with Alaskan Huskies for the bigger lung capacity for longer distance races. He was a little small and not getting enough work (a 70 dog racing kennel) and now is just a little lover boy.

GSPs are just such great dogs. Such loyal companions. Good luck.
Good boy!

Watching a well trained hunting dog is a thing of beauty
Well he made it around.

5 finds and a back (honoring another dog on point).

Problem with so many finds is that it tends to shorten up a dog's race so he doesn't show how he can intelligently go to objects that would hold birds. Doesn't give the dog to get on a roll so to speak.

That he made it around without getting disqualified is an achievement. Next 4 years, he will be in his prime.

Going to be a fun ride.
Congrats
