Agreed. SAT scores are poor data because it excluded a ton of stupid people. Justin Beiber and Taylor Swift fans, for instance, who're too young to have taken the SATs. Or Danzig fans, none of which have graduated past the secondary level.
sampling biases, applying mean SAT scores for a whole school regardless of whether or not the whole school uses facebook and posts their music preferences there, comparing whole genres (e.g., "classical") to individual "groups" (e.g., U2), no information about on the degree to which the subjects know the difference between a C# and see saw. Total garbage.

Rick, c'mon. Did you really expect rigorous methodology in something like this :)

Hey Mike, I hope you have been doing well! No, of course not. But, I think a lot of people see numbers attached to something and take them at face value. Plus, it's in my blood to comment on that sort of stuff b/c I spend so much time thinking about that of stuff during the workday.
Right. Plus SATs are not an intelligence test, and are a terrible proxy for intelligence because it is not only a test that you CAN learn, it is a test that people DO learn. Some kids study and practice like crazy for it, others go in blind. I bet the more interesting correlation here would be this music and the socioeconomic status.

I love Danzig's first two albums (and the entire Misfits catalog)!
Only a matter of time until she writes a song about this.
Or working auditory receptors.
I'm not smart enough to know.
I wonder what music the Giants listen too and whoose idea it was to dance on the Eagles 50 yard line prior to the annihilation.

Probably won't have time to fit it in on her new album (Out on Monday!!!). Maybe next time.

I will only go so far as to say that women who enjoy rap songs that refer to women as "ho's" and "bitches" are dumb.
That makes more sense. Although I have seen studies showing that listening to classical music (Beethoven) does improve test scores

Not true.

Pretty obvious to me that you are a smart guy. Was that ever in question?
Absolute first thing I noticed as well.

Plenty of Steak And Taters around here.
I guess that would put Cap'n Beefheart at the top of the list, Cowsills up there too. Sheeeit, we even have Meatloaf on Friday nights here.
Well, I guess Meatloaf don't qualify but 2 out of 3 ain't bad.
