The Cris Carter thread just got me wondering. I'm from New Britain, CT, not big by many standards, and my home town has produced two that I know of: Willie Hall (Raiders) and Tommy Myers (Saints).
Just curious about your actual home town and not the Cris Carter from Cincinnati type of geography.
early 2000's Ron Powlus. Coach the latter two, both still good friends and good guys.
and
Testicle Vinny (a.k.a. Vinny Testaverde)
P.S. Amos Zeroue went to nearby Mepham I think
Gary Marangi QB for the Bills went to Elmont High
Ryan Leaf - Drug Addict QB.
(Leafs mom was the assisting nurse for the birth of my son). Interesting trivia with these two is that Ryan Leaf (who was 3 years younger) backed up Dickinson in HS, and then Dickenson backed up Leaf on the Chargers.
Barry Darrow - OT (1974–1978)
Kris Heppner - PK (2000)
Dallas Neil - P/TE (2000–2004)
Brian Salonen - TE/LB (1984–1985)

I went to school with his dad (and his dad's twin brother). Great 3-sport HS athlete and one of the nicest people you could meet. His dad died suddenly when Aaron was younger, maybe in college...wonder if that affected him?
Quote:
Manahawkin did have Clark Harris the current long snapper for the Bengals.
Um, Little Egg Harbor's own Matt Saigon was chokeslammed by Kane a couple weeks ago on smack down if that counts for anything?
You also now have Glenn Carson who is from Manahawkin and walked on to the Cardinals this year via Penn St and made the team. State champ wrestler and stud MLB for Southern Regional
Oh yeah. His parents were my gym teachers. His dad was the wrestling coach for Pinelands for a while. Mr. Carson was a beast and was funny as hell, could bench a ridiculous amount of weight.
John Sullivan-Center-Vikings
Ricky Bell-RB/KR-Broncos
Steve Young QB-L.A. Express, Bucs and 49ers
And there was one other kid, a D lineman whose name escapes me, who had a cup of coffee with the Cardinals.
Two factoids:
1962 GHS State Champions coach: Sam Rutigiliano (HC Browns)
Coach Mike Ornato (1970s-2000s, multiple state championships) was also Tom Coughlin's high school coach

Sorry to miller the thread, but Pete had make percentage on FGs of just over 58% and he was considered a good kicker. If that was today he wouldn't last 4 games before being cut.
My home town didn't provide any NFL players that I know of. The town I live in has Brandon Tate of the Bengals and nearby Gibsonville had Torry Holt and his brother Terrence.

Steroids did him in. The steroids was his religion otherwise his Jewish faith would have him avoiding foreign substances
