They should list the recommended modems for the service level you sign up for. Buy the modem, it's cheaper in the long run and they should last a long time. You need to call TWC and have them add your modem info,serial # and MAC address, to their system and you should be good to go.
You should be able to use most any wireless router. Again you may have to coordinate with TWC but instructions on installation are pretty straightforward. Good luck.
make sure its DOCSYS 3.0, not 2.0, to future proof it.
