Given this refereeing crew, the penalty for delay of game could be 15 yards, or 50 yards, or a forfeit. They could have ruled the spike a fumble and I wouldn't be surprised. (KG voice) ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!

would it be a joke? They went toe to toe on the road with one team that will be in the playoff and won the title last year. If they go 11-1, it will not be a joke if they get in.

one loss team that I think would be a complete joke if they got in is Ohio State. Everyone else potentially would have a pretty decent case. Ohio State lost at home to a miserable Virginia Tech team, they're out regardless imo.

They haven't beaten anyone. Stanford at home by 3 I guess but they're a 5-3 team that got nutted by Arizona State and isn't in contention for anything at this point.

Florida state beat them and they're full of holes across the board.

There is no clear cut head and shoulders championship team this year. Obviously.

That said, I'll take Mississippi State, Alabama, Auburn, Michigan State, Oregon, and either TCU or Baylor at this point.

East Carolina vs Notre Dame would be a great game in the Capital One Bowl. Go Pirates.

Come on. Their d line isn't great anymore. The defensive backfield is questionable against elite receivers, their offensive backfield is in complete disarray and the best parts of their team are the TE and the kicker.

losing is not good for ND. I want to enjoy them losing but ND wants them to be as highly ranked as possible going into it. Utah is a damn good team but this one will not help ND

Just got an asshat tip. Apparently the young lady in question is pissed that Karlos has a new girlfriend and threaten both the new girl and he that she would ruin their lives. Investigation going on since last week. They already have one child and she has a 2nd on on the way.

I'm skeptical this about getting insider tips because they generally come from people's friends but this one seems to have some teeth.

The only reason Miami looks any different now is Golden is coaching for his job.

And there's a very good chance that Golden will lose to both UNC and UVA.

I said exactly that earlier in the thread - a whiny, self-serving postgame press conference where he cried about a lack of execution.....in a game that was lost because a)Larry Fedora noticed that the UVA kick return team was turning around before the kick, but Londo didn't b)12 men on the fucking field on a late UNC FG attempt, giving them a first down and letting them run out the clock. Two massive coaching blunders.

On the bright side, it wasn't as bad as when he let the clock run down against Tek two years ago when we had all three timeouts remaining.

London is a thousand times better then Golden.

Mike London is 1-13 in his career versus UNC, Duke and VT. Seriously. 1-13.

From 2012-14, UVA has gone 7-25 against FBS teams. Five of those seven wins were by 5 points or less. We've won one road game in three seasons.

Didn't Miami just a few weeks ago beat Duke pretty easily? Duke is a pretty good football team

by playing uncharacteristically aggressive defense. Duke also isn't very good this year in terms of talent.

Yet they beat UVA.

You can do all those same stats for London. The only team he's ever beaten that finished the season ranked was FSU in 2011, and they were only #23.

At Miami, Golden is 7-12 against teams with winning records. It is important to note that of these teams who finished with winning records, only 1 of these teams has finished better than 7-6. That was Georgia Tech in 2011 who finished 8-5. Shannon posted a record of 12-18 against teams who finished the season with a winning record. Still very mediocre, but much better than what Golden has posted overall.

- Overall, Al Golden is 11-37 versus team have who finished the season with winning records, and of those 11 wins, only 3 have finished above 7-6 (Georgia Tech 2011, Connecticut 2010, and Navy 2009).




I will take London over Golden every day and twice on Saturday.
