Wow, why couldn't we have guys like.............

Tagrocket : 10/26/2014 7:43 pm
Nicks, Bradshaw, Osi, Joseph, Tuck etc..........Oh that's right we DID have them!!!!
If we would have kept these individuals, we would NOT need to get a WR for a first draft pick this season, or any other big play position, we could have concentrated on O LINE which is our biggest need.
Reese or whoever need to get a clue, the past drafts have killed us and faded our beloved NY Giants into obscurity!
Draft players from the big "fifteen colleges"
15. Penn State
14. Iowa
13. Alabama
12. Oklahoma
11. Michigan
10. Florida
9. Wisconsin
8. Tennessee
7. Ohio State
6. Texas
5. California
4. USC
3. LSU
2. Georgia
1. Miami

The last three drafts, no matter what pick, these schools have produced starters for us:
1. Beckham Jr. LSU
2. Devon Kennard USC
Last year
1. Johnathon Hankins Ohio St.
two years ago
1. Rueben Randle LSU
Bonafide contributors, no matter what pick it is.
not Syracuse, Boston College, and other "feel good" picks.
as a bonus SPEED KILLS, get speed, please.
thanks.

I'm not sure I understand your point.
Britt in VA : 10/26/2014 7:48 pm : link
Osi, Tuck, and Nicks are washed up. Osi is a situational down pass rusher and the other two can't stay on the field with injuries.

Bradshaw would be nice to have in hindsight but they guy has had like 8 surgeries and we thought we had something in Wilson (even though I hated that pick).

In a perfect world, it would be nice to hold on to those guys but there is this little thing called the salary cap that you have to make decisions with.

Also, your last point, speed kills... Isn't that why we drafted Beckum?
he spelled
Homersimpson : 10/26/2014 7:48 pm : link
"obscurity" correctly, at least...
Hmmmm,
Gman11 : 10/26/2014 7:53 pm : link
Osi - 7 tackles 1 sack
Tuck - 18 tackles 1 sack
Nicks - 17 catches 8.3 yard average

Yeah, these guys would mean a championship.
You Can Get Players at any Level

Osi, Pierre-Paul, Cruz are three that immediately come to mind. Troy, USF, UMass. You have a better shot at getting better players from the major conferences, but a lot of looked-over/not evaluated-properly prospects slip to these smaller conference schools and produce all-star caliber players.

Does happen more than not.

Or how about names like Simms, Strahan, or I don't know, Jerry Rice? All from small schools.

Meanwhile, Michigan jumps off that list at me given my handle. Last I saw Michigan (yesterday) they had a losing record and just got their asses handed to them by Michigan State who, amusingly, is not on the list. The announcers had trouble coming up with more than three UM starters that were going to play on Sundays on both sides of the ball.

Nicks, Bradshaw, Osi, Joseph, Tuck went to a school on your list.
This thread is a joke right?

Let's see, of these folks; Nicks, Bradshaw, Osi, Joseph, Tuck - none were worth keeping when they were let go. All good decisions by the Giants org to let them go. Thanks goodness for not hanging onto injured, aging, over-priced and non-performing players.

I'd love to have Linval Joseph right now - at the right price.

Watched a lot of that Colts/Steelers game yesterday, he's got nothing left - he can't get open and they don't even look at him.

Did Tagrocket really put Miami as #1 ?

And who wants to draft a skill position player from a Big Ten (or whatever you call that conference now) school. Show of hands. I sure don't want more of Dayne, Lewis, etc.
10/14.
