The PS4 gets its first big software update tomorrow. Included in it is Share Play, which basically allows you to co-op play game with friends over the internet. Major features include Screen Sharing (you watch your friend play), Hand Over My Control (your friend lets you take over and play the game you have going on) and Hand Over My 2nd Player Control (your friend jumps in as player 2 and can play with/against you).

Coming off Destiny's release month and being outsold 3:1 by the PS4 for the month in the US, MS announced that the Xbone is going to hit $349 for the Holiday season (starting November 2nd). Included in that sale are systems with bundled software. This is likely going to be permanent after that point in time, as MS is trying to curtail a massive sales gap with Sony - estimated to be at least 50% globally (and more realistically 60-70%). Feel bad for anyone who paid $500 for it a year ago.

The WiiU actually got an outstanding 3rd party game in Bayonetta 2 (judging by reviews), though it seems sales will likely be poor.
Beyond Earth hit for the PC/Master Race, but it seems like its a reheated Civ V expansion pack.
We are kind of in a deadzone after Destiny's release until the Holiday releases start to hit. What else are people playing or waiting for?
Wow about the Xbox One. It's a great console but holy shit, this really shows how terrible marketing can absolutely destroy a product.
But once I do feel better... finishing up the Dragonfall campaign (although I was stupid and didn't realize I had free access to the Director's Cut version), and then finally getting around to playing Bravely Default.
Loving my PS4. Glad I switched.
My wife did just order the AC XBox One Bundle for me but it doesn't ship until Sun/Mon so maybe i'll cancel and just wait a few extra days. She'll probably just say to keep it as is.
CoD Advanced Warfare will consume my time this Winter. As will Dragon Age Inquisition by the looks of it. Can't wait for Smash Bros Wii U as well.
There's no combat, just a plethora of choice, imaginative storytelling, and really solid game mechanics.
80 Days - ( New Window )
The game is great. I'm about 16/17 hours in and around level 29 I believe. I find myself taking my time with sidequests (even though they technically don't really matter). I may start speeding through it to progress a bit quicker since so many games comes out, but that's very unlinke how I play RPG's.
Keep doing the sidequests if you can - they're generally rationed out at a rate such that completing them helps keep you at an appropriate level. I really enjoyed the game for 60, 70 hours and then it turned into an absolute chore at the end because I had essentially punted on all the sidequests and found myself in a situation where I had to grind for several hours in order to stand a chance against a particular boss. I don't hold it against the game because it's an intrinsic part of the design and I could have avoided that problem by focusing more on exploration and questing, but it took an amazing game and made it feel like a chore. So do the quests :)
Destiny
Borderlands: The PreSequel
Shadow Of Mordor
Upcoming Games:
Sunset Overdrive (XB1)
Assassins Creed Rogue (Last Gen only)
Assassins Creed Unity
Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare
Battlefield Hardline
Far Cry 4
Grand Theft Auto V (PS4, XB1)
Kindgom Hearts 2 (PS3)
There's more games than that I believe. Plan on picking up a few of them. I'll pretty much get COD Advanced Warfare for 20 bucks on release day.
Anyone seen the trailer for The Order 1886?

My problem starts next week when i finally get Xbox and CoD, then Dragon Age. Xenoblade will probably get pushed aside and left to finish next year unfortunately. Just too many good games coming out in the next month.
By the way, I still have no idea what i'm doing making gems. Not sure if there's a special way to do it or not and since getting the opportunity to do so in the beginning of the game, I find myself ignoring it. I know its how you get more powerful, but I admittedly have no idea what i'm doing.

what... :) Nah, to each their own. I don't really do FPS, but I really can't stand the "stop liking what I don't like!" people. Taste is individual.
FWIW, stuff I'll probably be playing between now and the end of the year:
Shadowrun: Dragonfall (in progress, probably finished in a week or two)
Bravely Default (should dominate my 3DS until the end of the year)
The Banner Saga (PC)
GTA V (PS4)
In re: gems, I honestly don't remember the process that well, other than that you want to use character pairs with high affinity when you craft gems.
In other news, the new CoD looks like complete shit, but that's nothing new. All they did was take some aspects of Titanfall like the double jump and put it in their game and people call it "revolutionary". Yuck.
Boy do I miss the good and fun days of CoD(4, World at War, Black Ops 1)
I'm on the fence for Halo MCC. I really don't care for Halo campaigns, so this will be a 100% online purchase if I do it. I think i'm going to wait on feedback for how well each game works online. I really enjoyed Halo 3's maps the most and would consider getting MCC for that alone.
Far Cry 4 is the next game I'm looking forward to.
Yeah, i was actually pondering what to do, and it really comes down to online for me. For the way I play games, and who I play them with, there's a huge gap in the systems.
I'm also eager to hear about HBO Go App for November (apparently). I have HBO Go on my 360 but its through shitty component cables and the sound quality sucks.
I usually skip every other year, so no.
I don't think people realize how cool this Share Play thing looks for the PS4. Its similar to one of the features MS promised prior to reversing all of their policies and will let you play your friends' games without ever having to buy them. My friend has the new Shadow of Mordor - which I'm on the fence about, but now I can just let him demo it for me and have me jump in a few spots to try it out. He can also let me start my own game and I can retain the save states on my account if I go out and buy it later. You can also play a co-op Madden, Fifa, etc. game with your friend and not have to deal with the lobby, etc.
This and Remote Play are the only features thus far on either console that strike me "next gen".
