After watching the Steelers game plan on Sunday I came to a realization that our team better hope the Colts have a lot of turnovers. As bad as the Steelers have played this year they still have the playmakers to beat a high scoring team like the Colts. The Giants do not have the firepower on offense and our defense gives up too many big plays especially on third down to make me optomistic about our chances. The more I watch some of the better teams it is obvious that we are pretty much 2 years away from being a playoff team. Injuries, poor drafts and some bad coaching have put this team down in the bottom third competitively. In our division I see the Cowboys and Eagles getting better as we struggle to field a team with better talent that is in need of better coaching.

Eagles....Fowles had all day...so did brees and rogers...
our oline is embarrassing
Great examples! You realize that Fowles [sic] and Rogers [sic] both lost yesterday, right?
Heh. You realize bossman (sic), right?
Fewell is a question that may need to be considered, but I'm not convinced he needs to go.
I think this year is about growing with some new personnel.
They have 1 WR and a good TE who is in his 10th year and no longer top 10 at his position.
I'll take Beckham and Donnell going forward over anything PIT has at WR/TE.
Giants are not far away.
Please stop with this.
Antonio Brown, Markus Wheaton, and Martavious Bryant are a pretty promising and solid trio of WR; all have speed, can get open, and take it to the house on any given play.
Yeah Heath Miller is old, but the guy can still play.
There OL is and always has been the problem to that Offense being consistent.
They really only need one more good off season, F/A & draft to get back to playing very well.
The reality of the NFL is that it is ridiculous to say that any team is two years away from competing.
+1. Right now, there are 32 mediocre teams in the NFL. Different shades but mediocre nonetheless.
Just another way of saying "the Giants have no depth talent-wise". Remember, the Giants aren't only team to suffer injuries.
If only we were talking about 2007 and 2011.....
1. RT - go out and get the best young free agent RT that is out there. Move Pugh inside, move Richburg to OC and Schwartz slides into guard. Beatty has done a decent job coming off the injury and is in his prime. The OL will be solid inside and tackle will be good enough as well.
2. Re-sign JPP, Thurmond & anyone else that we deem worthy including Rolle for one more year at a fair price. JPP has made a comeback and is playing solid. No way the Giants let him go.
3. Cut the fat. That may include Beason who is now always hurt.
4. Draft well again. Our 2013 and 2014 drafts don't look too bad so lets keep it up with another solid draft.
Lets hope TE Donnell develops into that 70-850-10 TD type of TE or better cause I think he can. Lets also hope the JPP of TE's (Robinson) also comes on and finally develops in year four. A two TE set with speed and athleticism could make our offense unique, especially if both develop their blocking.
Cruz must come back healthy and stay healthy. Jennings has one more year in him but Williams has to be the horse next year cause he is a bruiser.
On defense, we clearly need a safety and youth at LB. I suspect we'll target both in free agency. But lets hope Brown comes on and shows he can play in a pinch if needed to start. He just lacks top end speed to be a full time starter.
Well, with some good off-season moves, cuts, re-signings, draft and yes LUCK we'll compete for the playoffs next year.

We very well could be solid with that OL. However, you're moving 2 guys to new positions and adding a new guy in. Also, who is a FA that's solid? Is there another Kareem M. type guy or we can have success with?
Of course we can let JPP go. If he wants top elite level DE money, then we say thanks but no thanks. Would you break the bank for JPP?
You're very optimistic. I think we are still 2 years away, assuming we can add good FA and draft well. I don't think this is a talented team and needs a face lift on both sides of the ball.
I think neither is likely but are possible. My belief is Reese will stupidly assume that getting Schwartz back healthy will deem the OL 'fixed' and continue to piss draft picks away on useless positions like CB and WR again for this team.
