This thread last year got over 3,000 posts. Worked out very well, why not do it again?
Season starts tomorrow with a pretty "meh" tnt doubleheader, but i'm just happy to have basketball back. I have a Cavs vs Clippers Finals this season. Jabari Parker rookie of the year. Lebron m.v.p. Detroit as a surprise team who will find a way into the playoffs this season under stan van gundy. What say you guys?
I think every single team in the east potentially got better with the exception of indiana and miami. It may not be reflected in the records by seasons end, but this is the deepest the east has been in quite a while talent wise.
The way Butler is playing he is absolutely worth a max contract right now...

They have no choice too. He is becoming the fan favorite. First it was Rose, then Noah last year, now Butler is the favorite Bull. He should be starting in the ASG, but doesnt have the votes.
I dont know if he is a max player since this is the first year he has done it, but someone will offer him it.
I'm excited for this Rockets-Bulls game tonight. The Harden vs. Butler matchup in particular.

Rose is questionable.
Traded? Benched? Bad cheesesteak?
Boozer isnt missed.
Its amazing what rose does when he atacks. 4 straight baskets on attacks, then badly bricks 3. So frustrating.
62-62. But I'm worried the Rockets are gonna get beat down in the 2nd half here, unless Harden goes crazy. They need to play better D.

This will go down to the wire. I still worry about wing players for the Bulls. Outside Butler, they dont have much. Their 4 big men though is probably the best in the league because each does something very well.
Mirotic wont win ROY because Wiggins is heating up and he doesnt get the minutes, but he is a matchup nightmare.

If Mirotic can play the 3 like he did last night, watch out. The Bulls just became that much better.
It's so weird to watch the team you like suddenly become dominant. Hopefully the Giants can pull it off some day soon.

Bulls just need one athletic, defensive minded 2/3 who can play 15-20 minutes a night and I like them against anyone assuming Rose plays a little more consistently as the season wears on.
Besides Butler they don't have anyone who can defend wings.
Its mind boggling to me. And based on watching him fairly regularly, I don't think its a fluke. He's got the offensive game of an efficient 20 ppg scorer. All of a sudden.
Jesus christ, they won the eastern conference in 2004 and 2005, won the entire thing in 2004, won their division in 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008.
Spare us the "haven't had a pulse for a long time"
Did you catch that ND @ UNC game the other night? You going to watch ND take down UVA this Sat?
"Last story about Josh Smith, I was in Cleveland for work in 2008 or 2009 having lunch at a food court in the downtown mall, when this group of guys sitting next to me started hollering at these girls. These girls were waiting in line at McDonald's, and were by no means attractive, They looked like they were prepared to polish off no less than three Big Macs each. At first the girls weren't paying much attention, but then the cat calls got more aggressive. Eventually I realized that the main aggressor was Josh Smith. He was sitting with Al Horford and a few other Hawks players, who played the Cavs later that night in the playoffs. Of course Josh Smith was eating McDonald's before a huge playoff game."
It's amazing that Dumars went out and got Smith. Everyone and their mother knew that Smith/Monroe/Drummond was not going to work. Pretty crazy how well Detroit has been playing since getting rid of him. Makes you wonder how far along the Monroe/Drummond duo would be if Dumars didn't sign Smith like a dumbass.

And not trading Knight for Jennings. Knight has played really well recently for the Buck. Knight/Monroe/Drummond isnt too shabby.
He still has a LOONG way to go but atleast he's finally showing flashes now.
Rubio will always be a limited player because of his poor scoring/shooting skills. But as a playmaker/defender, he's a bigtime asset for Minny. I can't wait to see how Wiggins plays once Rubio gets back. In theory, Rubio should get Wiggins a lot of good looks including some highlight plays in transition.
always a funny/informative read - ( New Window )
Gasol is a no doubt about it Hall of Famer. A guy who doesn't get enough credit for his role on the Lakers title teams. Good to see him having a bounceback season to remind people of what he can do.
Didn't see it, but KG is the fakest "tough guy" in the history of sports.
But a part of me still wishes Dwight decided to fuck KG up. And make no mistake about it, Dwight would beat the utter crap out of KG.
Dwight we dismantle KG and I'd love to see it. Surprised kg actually stepped up to Dwight.
He's got a target on his back and the Dwight-hate is a little overboard. Both the media (TNT especially) and the fans just hate the guy. I don't think all that's warranted.
But whereas I've seen James Harden mature as a person and player clearly before my eyes. Dwight is still the same old Dwight. He knows how to talk the talk, but only walks the walk half the time.
His injuries definitely play a role though. Because his game is so athleticism-dependent, it's easy to see when he's not feeling 100%. And I think the fact that his injuries limit him really bothers him.
He's not even close to as bad as people (especially you crazy ex-GF sounding Lakers fans) say, but I have a better understanding of why he's unlikeable now that I've seen him play on a weekly basis for a couple of years now. I'd still gladly take him on my team every day of the week because he's a bigtime player and did show up in the playoffs last year.
Marc Gasol is clearly the best Center in the league though. He's bout to get paid.
Bulls are not the favorite whatsoever in the East. Their defense blows. Rose is average. Noah is hurt and playing the worst ball in years. And they have 0 wing depth.
