And Detroit coming back on Atlanta and New Orleans the last two weeks shoveled dirt on it.
The team can't give up, obviously, but, at the same time, it doesn't make sense to rush a guy in Jennings that they may need in the big picture (ie next year) from an injury that could leave him susceptible to something more serious.
Depends on the severity of the injury. A grade 2 MCL tear supposedly takes 2-4 weeks, a grade 3 can be up to 8 weeks or longer, unless surgery is required or other damage.
Its starting to feel like the last two years of the Fassell era when the team was decimated with injuries.
Yeah, it's easy to forget we've had this kind of stuff happened throughout recent history. And the 1999 team lost something like 11 starters to IR. Hey, at least we have the SBs.
We wont win.....I said 2 weeks ago...beason should go on ir
and another lb sign ...we had 2 weeks to get ready...
also said we should have signed Jones...and send Cox
to ps...rashad will be next...he may play a few
games and get reinjured....bad management and coaching.
We are thin at db and lb...Colts will toast us Mon..
40+ points ...then I quit watching. Hope im wrong
but tc is as predictable as play book.
He was hurting the team anyway being on the field...
...next year, a LB hopefully will be a top two pick. LB has been nothing but a patchwork mess for so many years, its ridiculous already. Once a player breaks through the front 4, its usually clear sailing until they reach the secondary. That is why we are going nowhere again this year.
I'm just surprised he can't even practice yet, now after the Bye week. Should have clarified.
Understood, I just don't want a repeat where we rush a guy back only to get hurt again. We do have til Monday, so he may still get some time in if he's ready to go. Schwartz us another guy who needs to get back, and at his natural position ( right guard) hopefully he' all put up a better showing there than he did in the preseason.
No matter how talented some of these injury-prone players might be, you can't count on them for significant stretches in a season. And I'd imagine that's pretty disruptive for coaching and long-term planning.
Doug Martin and (I gotta believe) Stephen Jackson are available....hell, I wouldn't be surprised if the Falcons threw in Osi to take Jackson off their hands LOL
The Doug Martin stuff has to stop. He's been woefully ineffective this year (and last) and the Giants are not going to give up a pick/picks to acquire him. It's just not going to happen.

Put Arian Foster or DeMarco Murray on the Bucs and let's see how well they play. NO..I am NOT saying that he's anywhere close to either as a RB, what I am saying is Tampa is not a fair sample size vis a vis his production.

And what makes you think he'd be better off here? Did you watch us try to run the football in Philadelphia and Dallas?

Well first, I would only do it for a 6th or 7th round pick so there is little risk (especially considering JR's late rd track record), 2nd when Tampa had a functional line, and Freeman was playing above average, Martin was very effective.
The Giants OL isn't great, but it's safe to say they're better than tampa's.
He's one potential alternative in the event that Jennings is going to be out for any length of time.
The ineffective run game hurts us big-time! With Jennings back there, opposing D's had to play tougher, he was the starter for a reason! Williams will get better as time goes on, he had holes in college and was a load for any LB/DB, little bit different at this level. I guess Hillis is recovering from an injury which leaves us with Cox as the next-man-up. Give him a shot to prove himself, he is a lot quicker than most think, he also has fair hands.
Per TC when he was hired - "Coughlin also raised eyebrows referring to last year's rash of injuries as "a cancer." New York had 12 players put on season-ending injured reserve."
"It is something that has to be corrected," Coughlin said. "It is a mental thing I believe as much as anything else."
I don't know if we release him, but I'd like to see us bring him back next season at full health. A healthy McClain is much better than a very hobbled Beason. I think we are still in the hunt right now, so hopefully we don't get thinned out at LB any further.
But he's not the MIKE. HE'S NOT THE MIKE!
Coughlin on Rashad Jennings: "He's not ready to go."
Season might be real close to being over by that time.

A 'healthy' Beason is not an actual thing.

WTF!!! is this verified????
#Giants RB Rashad Jennings just starts running. Still not cutting. Appears far from being ready for MNF vs. #Colts
PHEWWWWW!! Thanks Eric!
Just eat whatever hit it will be and move on.
That's the closest he's come to getting the inside poop....

$3.83M.

Scary situation, 2 guys I don't know on the PS, who might be available by the deadline?

Finally find a LB worth a damn on the field, and we can't get him on the field.
See you next year JB.
This would net us about 3.5 M cap space over the next two years...it's that or you pay him 5.9 M next year.....
