I'd like them to give Donovan a shot, just to see where he is and what he can contribute. Yeah, I get that Cappy likes Strait on the PK, but honestly, how much worse could Dono be than Strait?

As for Bailey on L1, I'd be fine with that. What made the top line so dangerous last season is that Vanek was a skilled enough player that between the three of them, all three could create space with the puck and the opposing D had to respect that. With Conacher in, the strategy is easy...knock Conacher down and have 2-3 guys attack JT. We need someone who can drive possession and create plays. Which ironically is why Lee actually isn't the best fit on L1 (not that he'd be a bad choice). Ideally, it's a guy like Grabbo, but I have no interest in messing up the Grabbo-Fransie-Kulie line. If we were any other team, that's a line you look at and realize that you'd hate to have to play against them.

But I do not want to break them up. Bailey if he keeps up his pre-injury play could work too. He has done well with Okposo in the past

I ready Bailey is out at least 1-2 months.

He is bringing nothing to the table and hurting that line. I agree that we should try Bailey up there, remember how well Okposo and Bailey played together 2 years ago to get us into the playoffs?

giving Bailey a shot on the first line and easing Grabner in with time on the 4th line (along with the PK) would be a nice way to use our guys when we're healthy.

And he attempted to explain that the Isles judge each line gets based on total production and that Conacher's 1 pt and -2 isn't really that big of a deal. I hope that's not how they operate. I disagree 100% as I think we all do. JT and KO will score regardless. The line hasn't been the same with him on it. He needs to go one way or the other. Other than Martin there is no other forward I'd rather see on L1. Either way can't complain about winning. Hopefully Halak can get his act together.

With Conny on L1 and strait on defense. Things ain't that bad. Also opposing teams are working hard to shut down L1. Good thing we roll 4 lines now.

mind giving Kulemin a shot at line #1. He's tough on the puck and would really help the line keep possession. We probably don't want to mess with the chemistry line #2 and line #3 have, so I giving Bailey and his playmaking ability a shot at line #1 makes sense too.

4 backups faced in 8 games. 2-2 against NHL starters, and yes I counted one of Carolina's goalies as a starter.

In 3 of those games, we played our backup goalie. So now can we count them since we made then a fair fight?

backup goalies aren't worth anything then the Rangers win in the ECF last year was a fluke and we should diminish any credit given to them for their run.

Upcoming road trip is going to be a challenge so it would be nice to take care of the Jets tonight and head out west at 7-2.

Even the ones who were too excited about the start have been wanting a new coach. Its been 3yrs all of us have wanted a coach. I dont think we will get one unless they go 0 for the trip. As a fan I dont want my team to lose 6 in a row but if its the only thing to rid us of this horrible coach and the rest of garths best friends, then so be it.

Im the pessimistic Isles fan and no matter what others say about the positives, I will never believe it with this organization. I think after the cubs, jets, and lions, the Isles are the next in line as far as awful organizations.

I think you guys need to fire Snow too. He made a few quality moves this off-season (Halak, Leddy, Ho-Sang, Boychuk if you re-sign him), but he's been fucking awful and has one of the five best players in the game.

Personally I unfortunately have a bad taste in my mouth the way things ended last year. All the blown 3rd period leads, the tight sticks in the overtimes and missed empty nets, just a 5 game series, etc. It was a great run and its hard as fuck in a 30-team league with a hard salary cap to win a Cup - we'll be lucky to see 4 in our lifetimes (probably grouped together because teams tend to cluster their titles)... but its hard to sit here and pound my chest about 2nd place.
