Sounds like Jerry Reese agrees with many of us here

Reese on Eli: as an offense, I think we have to be more aggressive. I appreciate Eli taking care of the ball, but you can't be too cautious.

@ebenezersamuel
Reese says Damontre Moore "needs to play a few more snaps."

Hopefully Coughlin does too.

The o-line comment
phil in arizona : 10/27/2014 3:03 pm : link
is probably in response to a loaded question.

Even if he's second guessing some of the moves he made in the offseason, he can't admit that the talent on the line is poor because that will get back to the players/coaches and it might potentially create a problem behind the scenes.

I sure do :) and you love being the contrarian

We all have our role to play on BBI

Chris, I don't expect Reese to throw guys under the bus.

I know he criticized Eli during 2007, but it's much different with an entrenched starter. He's not going to trash Walton/Jones or point out the LB's suck as a unit. Those players are likely to have short tenures here anyway.

Actually I think he expects Reese to come out and say that it's on him for this team not being "talented" enough
it's hard to take more shots down the field

Reese needs to stay out of TC's kitchen
andrew_nyg : 10/27/2014 3:10 pm : link
until he learns how to cook up some real talent for this roster.

Jerry...the reason Eli is being careful is because he has 2 out of 5 starting caliber linemen and exactly ONE dependable WR.

Now STFU and start scouting some real talent!
Agree with him re: Moore.
Dave in Hoboken : 10/27/2014 3:12 pm : link
Only way Moore will will mature (on the field) and get better is by getting some experience on the field, and not just trying to block punts on STs. If he has to get pushed around alittle bit on the DL, then let it happen. But he has to start to get some real experience out there.

it proves the point that he's in way over his head. He does have a great talent however of emitting sound that basically means nothing.

If you want to know what "in over his head" sounds like, you might want to listen to the other NFL GM in NY.

Honestly, it seems more like football is actually way over your head. Jerry Reese is far from a perfect GM but he has 2 rings. How many other active GMs in the NFL have 2 rings under their watch?

Let me guess though, before you respond... does he owe a big 1 to Ernie Accorsi (even though he was the guy helping run the drafts) or is it in spite of his faults that we've lucked our way into two championships?

if halfway through the season Reese said "We cannot succeed with the offensive live I assembled" ?

He *HAS* to answer in the positive.

when the Jets were in first place after week one?

I don't think Jerry has a problem at all...he will be a lifer...such is the Giant way....

Man, if only we could get someone like Cashman....all the money in the world, and he can't make a winner, and still has a job....

Hope you are wrong on Reese being a "lifer" with this team. He has been a mistake from the beginning covered up by TCs influence and coaching. Thanks to Accorrsi getting him hired.
That's not true.
AnishPatel : 10/27/2014 6:08 pm : link
He single handedly changed our scouting ways when he came aboard. He made ballsy moves when he cut Luke P. and moved David D from guard to tackle.

He also drafted well when he ran the draft and created the draft board. He proved this in 2007, when he had to do the GM duties AND his previous Director of College Scouting. When he had total control he had his best draft.

It isn't until Ross came aboard drafting went down. I want to see Reese eventually pull double duty. Be the Gm AND go back to Director of College Scouting. He had massive successful that year and I want to see him back in that role.
Marc Ross
FStubbs : 10/27/2014 6:56 pm : link
I wonder how much of it is Marc and how much of it is actually Chris Mara.
I heard the interview
EddieNYG : 10/27/2014 7:44 pm : link
And it sounds to me that Reese feels we need more weapons on offense.
I'm with AP on this one...
trueblueinpw : 10/27/2014 7:51 pm : link
I have no problem with JR. I had some questions at the beginning of the season about some of his personnel choices but most of his moves this past off season were solid. One thing we don't talk about enough around here is how well the organization (JR) does with who they let walk.

Reese is a very very solid GM. Seriously, who would anyone rather we have than JR?
maybe Reese
TommyWiseau : 10/27/2014 8:32 pm : link
Does indeed suck but our FA blunders I do not blame on him, he signs guys who have never been injured before and they always get hurt. Maybe Marc Ross just sucks
I still think Marc Ross is a bigger problem than Reese.
