"Several weather models are hinting at the potential for an early-season snowfall across parts of the northeast this weekend. Weather models forecasting snow more than five days in advance are like predictions of the rapture—the odds are against it, but get ready just in case.
Social media is lighting up as amateur meteorologists (read: high schoolers) post outlandish model images predicting a foot or more snow to their inexplicably-large Facebook and Twitter followers. Tens of thousands of people are seeing these forecasts and taking them as meteorological gospel.
Let's say this now: there very well could be snow in the northeast between Friday and Sunday, but it's a long way off and a lot can change. Before talking about what could happen, let's take a look at the points for and against a potential snowstorm this weekend."

I wonder if they make full hazmat suits designed to fit over winter outdoor clothing.
"Mmmmmmmmmmmm, snow."
Moops...great post!

but 3 years ago we got a late October/Halloween snowstorm in the Northeast and the power got knocked out. I remember the Giants played Miami a couple of days after that and won a close game with a Cruz TD
How are so few people remembering this craptastic weekend?
I remember that. It was my first year living in Manhattan. Didn't it not snow again that year until like February?

Probably because Sandy hit the exact same time the very next year (near Halloween)

80 degrees with 80% humidity while heading into November doesn't sound like a selling point for a permanent residence.
Yeah it was a pretty big one that knocked down the trees still with leaves and then we didn't get anything again until February.
Holy shit - WM approves too. Snow just got real...

Hell of a lot better than 32 and 100% humidity...
Besides it was 80 and dry today with not a cloud in the sky.
