The stick connects through an HDMI port, allowing you to watch shows from sources like Netflix, Hulu Plus, and Amazon Instant Video in 1080p. It also has 8GB of storage, 1 GB RAM, dual-band WiFi, a remote control, and a voice search option for an additional fee. The Fire TV controller will also be compatible with the stick to play games, such as Flappy Bird Family.

Currently, Amazon Prime members can snag the Fire TV stick for $19, however, that is just an exclusive two-day offer. The hardware is set to begin shipping on November 19.

since the woman seems to frequently want to watch netflix or something whilst im using the xbox.

she may or may not be buying me an xbox one giving us 2 different streaming devices anyway, but for 20 bucks this will solve a problem.

it also does chromecasting using screen mirroring, i'm just not sure if it does it from a laptop/desktop or only from a device with the app installed.
For $20...

I ordered 2 today for the heck of it. I'll probably keep and try one out, and if I don't like it more than my Roku's, give the other one away as a Christmas present, or something like that. But for just $20 apiece, what the heck?

I saw from Amazon devices - not desktop.

I tried to order 2 through my wife's prime account but it limited me to 1.

I also got an estimated ship date of December 17th.

But for $20 it'll be worth it for the tinkering. Funny I just bought a FireTV yesterday. Rooted it and loaded XBMC.
