The real question is
Matt M. : 10/28/2014 4:52 pm : link
what does Bill Cosby have to say about this?
100 instances....in 10 hours?
Greg from LI : 10/28/2014 4:54 pm : link
Doesn't exactly seem overwhelming.
If the point of the video is too show
Dr Pepper : 10/28/2014 4:55 pm : link
How overwhelming the harassment of women in NYC is why edit out 85% of the occurrences?
i'm sorry ....harassment?
RasputinPrime : 10/28/2014 4:57 pm : link
maybe a few of them but let's be real, this is real life. She could always follow the trend and bury herself in a phone and earbuds while pretending she is in a virtual world.

sheesh
This is real life?
Matt M. : 10/28/2014 4:59 pm : link
How many of you are stopped repeatedly on the street? Every day?

Relax Matt. it's not big deal. She was only harassed over 100 times over the course of the day
Besides
Giantology : 10/28/2014 5:01 pm : link
She's not even that hot, right? She should be grateful
Ok, show of hands.
Motley Blue : 10/28/2014 5:02 pm : link
Who here has never experienced a woman coming up to them and introducing themselves?

If you raised your hand, then sure acting like those clowns in that video is probably your only option to get a woman to talk to you.
seems like a lot of people are getting hung up on the word Harassment
wigs in nyc : 10/28/2014 5:02 pm : link
shouldn't the fact that women say this makes them feel uncomfortable be enough?
It kind of puts it in perspective for me
Matt M. : 10/28/2014 5:03 pm : link
I would snap at some point if that was my day. Hell, just watching the 2 minute video I found it annoying.
stopped?
Greg from LI : 10/28/2014 5:04 pm : link
Who stopped her? She seemed pretty mobile to me. First World problems......

Right, it seems that they're complaining about it bothers you the most. Which is ironic.
A lot of those are gestures of just talking to
newjacksm : 10/28/2014 5:07 pm : link
Some of them are really bad like "Damn mami" but a lot of guys don't even want to talk to women anymore or be upfront because you don't know why type of crazy they are.
After reading
Wonderphil11 : 10/28/2014 5:10 pm : link
some of the comments on this thread, I find myself more sympathetic to women who deal with this daily and the inherent "c'mon, what's the big deal" attitude that comes with it...
Would she have responded differently
ed90631 : 10/28/2014 5:26 pm : link
or been as upset if some Wall street rich kids were trying to attract her attention?

You can't blame guys for trying although some need to smooth out their approach.

As for the guy who walked along side her for five minutes...maybe he was just curious as to why some woman was walking around town with a camera five feet in front of her.

The bottom line...this woman is trying to smear all men because of the behavior of a handful of crude men carefully selected from ten hours of video.

I seen sexual harrassment in action and this ain't it.
She should enjoy the attention while she's still young

Are you really that dense? "You can't blame guys for trying" -- actually, you can. When catcalling and harassing makes someone feel uncomfortable and unsafe, it's not okay and is not something that should be forgiven or seen as no big deal.

Also, you think the guy walking beside her for 5 minutes noticed a hidden camera in the backpack of the guy walking ahead of them? Yeah, I'm sure that was it... he had no other intention there

Ah, there's the racist card. Lovely.
Also, you do realize, and you would if you were paying attention to the beginning, but the camera is hidden. The guy wasn't walking with her because he was curious about the camera, lol. Come on now.
the race card?

bluepepper : 10/28/2014 7:53 pm : link
a break, none of these guys was just being friendly. Don't know why so many here minimize it. No, it's not the worst problem women face but they shouldn't have to put up with this crap just walking down the street.
It's more really annoying than harassment
buford : 10/28/2014 7:53 pm : link
except for the two guys who followed her. This is why you have your iphone on with headphones when walking.
whenever i have to be in Chelsea
natefit : 10/28/2014 10:02 pm : link
I know how women here feel.
Agreed on headphones
JoeMoney19 : 10/28/2014 10:41 pm : link
I wear headphones all the time even if I'm not listening to anything so I can ignore annoying people.
What exactly are we donating to?
Anakim : 10/28/2014 11:34 pm : link
What does the charity do? How will me giving money stop "verbal harassment?"
I found the charity a bit odd also
Matt M. : 10/29/2014 12:45 am : link
Then I saw a different link to this video that outed her as an aspiring actress. I'm sure that is why this video is out more than anything. That doesn't change my opinion about the behaviors shown, though.

Absolutely. It gets her name out there. I mean it won't amount to much, but at least she'll get her 15 minutes of fame...like the Drake Starbucks Hands guy.

But the charity...I just don't get it. And I don't get these anti-bullying charities either. Unless the money is going to be used as bribes to NOT do such things, I don't see how they help. Hitting on women and bullying will always be a part of society. No ifs, ands or buts about it. No amount of money or "sensitivity training" will change that
real woman
RasputinPrime : 10/29/2014 12:52 am : link
are rolling their eyes at girls whining about this crap when there are actually real issues to deal with. Amazingly, some of them even effect both men and women.

Matt M. : 10/29/2014 12:59 am : link
Good point. It's funny, we are going through the middle school process for my oldest right now. So far out of the 6 schools we visited, 5 claim they don't have any bullying. One principal had the decency to say of course there are incidents; any principal telling you otherwise is lying.
this girl didnt dress sexy or anything... but wait til Halloween
GMAN4LIFE : 10/29/2014 9:14 am : link
because my god do girls dress as slutty as possible. Not all but alot of them do
Unless...
Wonderphil11 : 10/29/2014 9:19 am : link
the guys in the video are actors, I don't see what her being an actress or any possible motives for making the video have to do with the point of the video itself.
So she should just be ok with being bothered walking down the street
BeerFridge : 10/29/2014 9:22 am : link
every day of her life.

Ok then.
Women confuse me...
Hades07 : 10/29/2014 9:24 am : link
...sometimes they will wear a low cut bit of nothing shirt with a push up bra to display them as best as possible. You would think not complimenting her breasts would be insulting because she went through all that effort to show them off. But no, if you say anything you are a creep. Makes no sense.

is that the brothers still love that big ol butt. Me too.
Guys are just trying to be polite.
GiantFilthy : 10/29/2014 9:34 am : link
They are just saying hello. Just saying good morning. As I am sure they said hello and good morning to every person they passed that day. She is a whoreslutbitch for not replying back with a hello and good morning. Because surely these guys wouldn't have taken the reply as her wanting to start up a conversation and a clear sign that she wants their D.

It takes a certain kind of ego to be either unable or unwilling to imagine that it must be a real pain in the ass to be talked to like that by creeps in the street all fucking day. Much less followed.

Ahhh, the old "sticks and stones..." argument...nice.
She should redo the video while open-carrying

I said that the guy following her was legitimate harrassment
Greg from LI : 10/29/2014 10:03 am : link
No argument on that one. Yes, I'm sure a bunch of lame pickup attempts are annoying. If that's your biggest worry in life, I'd say you're doing fairly well for yourself.
As far as I can tell....
Wonderphil11 : 10/29/2014 10:13 am : link
no one is calling for arrests to be made (except maybe that one dude) so I don't understand the hang up with the word "Harassment" nor do I get why this has to elevate to the "worst thing to happen" in order to have any relevance...this thread is taking on the tone of an episode of The Knick.

panhandlers, street performers in the subways, people handing crap out, etc walking around new york is full of annoyances for everyone. Trying to make it a gender thing is trolling.
It's her fault for not having headphones.

just sucks that most of the guys , maybe 90%, are minorities
GMAN4LIFE : 10/29/2014 10:23 am : link
she must have a big booty! :)
What sucks is a normal woman
mrvax : 10/29/2014 10:26 am : link
is put into the position where she has to remain silent to even "good morning" & such.

Still beats the hell out of being accused for adultery and then stoned to death by her family & neighbors.
who said anything about "fault"?
Greg from LI : 10/29/2014 10:30 am : link
Passive-aggressive bullshit is par from the course for you, though, so I don't know why I'm bothering.

I get it. You're acknowledging the problem but basically saying you don't care about it. That's understandable, but you might consider whether you don't care about it because you don't have to deal with it.
Most women go about their day and ignore it
buford : 10/29/2014 10:40 am : link
What is worse is going to the mall and having those kiosk sales people attack you to try to get you to try their shitty product.

Honestly New Yorkers build up a shield to this kind of stuff. When I moved down here, I was very uncomfortable with everyone being so nice and speaking to you. It broke the 'never make eye contact' rule from NY. It was a bit hard to get used to, but now I like it.
you're right - I have no annoyances to deal with in my life
Greg from LI : 10/29/2014 10:41 am : link
I would have no idea what that is like. Shame on me.
let me ask an honest question though...
GMAN4LIFE : 10/29/2014 10:43 am : link
how does one get this girl to acknowledge you without looking like a creep?

it seems like its a lose lose.
GMAN
buford : 10/29/2014 10:47 am : link
be incredibly good looking and well dressed.

I still don't see this as harassment, and yes, I've had to deal with it. If this wasn't an experiment, she probably would have told those two guys who were following her to fuck off and they would have.
