Guard Todd Herremans tore his bicep against the Cardinals on Sunday. He is going to try to play through it, but they now have all three interior linemen who started the season injured. Link - ( New Window )
And if he does he will be half the player he was..It is VERY hard to reach with a torn biceps let alone having to block a 300 pound lineman with a torn biceps...I had it happen over the summer and I couldnt even straighten my arm, couldnt eat without that arm, couldnt drive, couldnt shake hands with anyone...And I have a high pain tolerance, guys I worked with called me Trex
That they don't plan on repairing surgically and will only treat with rehab I guess he could play. It also depends if it's at the elbow or the shoulder.
I had a complete tear two years ago, had it repaired and it took me a minimum of nine months to start testing it out.
It's a bitch of an injury but depending on severity and the risk of further damage if they're saying he'll play... Who knows?
If it is torn from the shoulder you can play through it. I did in HS/College. If it is torn at the elbow you cannot. He will have a massive hole in his arm for the rest of his life just below the deltoid where his bicep used to connect to the shoulder if he does not fix it right away. It will be extremely painful when it contracts and there is nothing there to stop it. It will fully contract and continue to go until it feels like it is going to rip your arm off. It subsides very quick though and I did not have access to the miracles of NFL medicine.
hating to hear about any injuries, on any team.
All that said, and hopefully catching lightening in a bottle, the Giants may still very well be able win the division.
We just need to win our own games, especially 2 of the next 3, and of course our interdivisional games.
We have a friendly schedule in 5 of the remaining 9.
But usually, this is an IR thing.
That was a torn pectoral, not bicep.
