Speaking from the underlying "Chicken Little" spirit of BBI -- even from a non-football perspective -- I have to say that I believe that The Knicks will be lucky to win 35 games this season. I have absolutely zero hope that they will be anywhere near a serious contender for anything meaningful at any point this year. There is just too much unproductive, dead-weight on the team.
Melo will keep them fairly respectable and take over games here and there through-out the season. JR will have a week-or-two streak at some point that temporarily raises expectations. Amare will briefly flash who he used to be here and there as well. They will even likely have a number big games over the course of the season where all three of those guys click at the same time -- making them look better than they are in a short spurt.
But when the dust settles, they won't be able to keep it going consistently enough to be a real contender for anything.

For those of you who haven't already figured it out:
I am predicting this in hope that I am completely wrong.
Someone give me an alternate view!
O-1 and "The Sky is Falling!"
All of that against one of the best defenses in the league. I'm not surprised at the result. This team will take time to find its rhythm.

Don't understand Triangle but looks like players
didn't either.The announcer said you can't win
w/o talent. I think they have enough.
I think Jackson needs to bring in more
players who know system otherwise
It will take too much time.

Is this bossman's 3rd handle now?
Hopefully in time he'll be forced to ditch his overusage of elipses and manual line breaks so that his dupes aren't as obvious.
And don't even watch tonight. It will be worse!
But eventually I truly believe Fisher will get this team to play .500 basketball. At the same time, expect a very slow start through Christmas. Something like 12-18 the first 30 games.
I'm betting he's too stupid to realize how Odell Beckham spells his name.

Regarding last night's game, we're going to have quite a few games like that against the better teams in the league. On the bright side, you can see a clear difference in the offense already as the ball was moving all over the court. And like I said yesterday, we have our draft pick!
New culture and new system(Phil Jackson)
New head coach(first game ever as a HC)
Lots of new players and new pieces
Injury to our starting PG
Maybe give this team more than 1/2 a game before evaluating them and declaring anything? I will give them a good month personally before I make any declarations.
Gasol doesn't rely on athleticism though so he will age much better...
Quote:
to Gasol but Gasol would still be a great get. The risk is that he's Chandler all over again (paying big money for a 30+ center's decline years).

Perhaps, but bigger/slower players sometimes completely fall off a cliff once they lose even half a step. While a more athletic guy will have a more gradual decline.
Quotes were nowhere near implying he would come to NY. He just left them as an option (among others)
"It's a personal decision," Pau Gasol said. "I talked to my brother enough about Phil that he knows what he brings to the table. I don't know how much he's involved with the team, really. He's in an upstairs position, management position. He's not on the court every day, so it's something that [Marc] will consider when he gets to that point."
