it would be great to have Jennings, but the problem isn't Williams. He is a rookie with a very promising future. He could do a better job waiting for holes to develop, but that will come with practice, and he is already devastating at the second level. The problem is the OL. Can they block well enough for him? And can our WRs and TEs be effective enough so that he isn't looking at eight man fronts all game?
Why I am getting the sick feeling the Jennings injury will linger and by the time he makes it back on the field it will be just too late and we our season will down the shitter.
I am getting that feeling too. Williams just needs to get used to being an every down type back in the NFL. In college the holes were always there from snap. Patience is sometimes need in the NFL to allow the blocking schemes time to develop.
Although with our OL, that is few and far between.

the Giants will ease up on running the ball so much and will put the ball in Eli's hands and ask the passing game to rack up some points against one of the highest scoring teams in the league . . . or is that just wishful thinking?
is that, when he runs into the pile at the LOS, he has a bad tendency of getting turned around, so he's basically trying to run backwards and move the pile that way. I remember Jacobs would allow this to happen as well.
Yeah I would like to see more of Cox and less of Hillis on Monday
he's never played a full season, he's missed 11 games in his career and he's never carried the ball more than 163 times in an entire season. He's only had two season where he's averaged as many as 10 carries a game and he was averaging near 20 this season.
Fans were delusional to expect him to make it the entire season without missing a couple of games at least.
The guy gets hurt and leaves a 3-2 team and will probably come back to a 3-5 or 3-6 team.
I hope we can pull this game out without him but he is such a crucial part of this teams construct. We simply cannot replace his skillset. No one else has it. I'd argue outside of Eli that his absence probably hurts more than anyone else's could.

Gary Brown redux?
SUPERBOWL!!
Let's see if one of those bizarro games happens where you expect a shoot out and end up with a 20-17 game.
Unless you meant, literally, 'He will be physically able to play' on Monday. In which, yes. Factually true. But not much cause for optimism.

And I'm not dogging Williams. Just observing that his youth has yet to be proven a good substitute for Jenning's experience.

But if Luck is hot, and puts points up easily on this defense, and the Giants have to play catch up, then they are in trouble...
Better to air on the side of caution, rather than rush him back like Beason....
