Who to start this week? Newton or Eli? I have Eli in since Carolina does not have 3/5 of their starting online playing. Both guards and left tackle are out.
points scored in my league and I'm in last place at 1 - 7. I have the most points against by over 120.
it's uncanny.
In my 2nd league, the less important one because it's not a keeper league, but it's more money, I'm in first with so-so team where I've overcome adversity - lost Adrian Peterson and Victor Cruz as well as Montee Ball (though that turned out to work in my benefit since I stopped playing him). I traded Gronkowski for Arian Foster and that helped since my TE's have been good too.
Speaking of keepers, I can pick up Victor Cruz off waivers and keep him for an 8th round pick. is it worth it? I would more than likely have better keeper options, but never hurts to get waiver wire keepers.
No excuses pal. You are in last place. Fact.
Seriously though, pts scored is more important than record when evaluating a team, but it's also important to know when they scored the pts. Did you score 250 pts in 1 week and average 100 every other week? If I remember correctly, weren't you leading in pts 3 weeks ago? So you've crapped the bed for 3 weeks now?
I've kind of thrown in the towel, I traded away Julio Jones for Kelvin Benjamin (Benjamin is an 11th round keeper), traded Ronnie Hillman for Brandin Cooks (a 10th round keeper) and other small deals like that.
I am now sacrificing points for the future. I had some nice keeper options now and a high draft pick to look forward to. I'm shopping Matt Forte now, who is the #1 non-QB in terms of points in my league. I'd like to get Sammy Watkins and wrap up WR with all keepers. he was a later round pick too.
I'd just keep Russell Wilson too. I guess i'd need to know the whole team, but a small bump in projected performance usually won't get me to part with a player.
my league is PPR + bonuses for long TDs + 6 pts for a TD of 80 yds, 4 pts for a TD of 40 - 79 yds. Nelson has a lot of bonus points, he has some long TD's (off the top of my head it seems)
I'd just keep Russell Wilson too. I guess i'd need to know the whole team, but a small bump in projected performance usually won't get me to part with a player.
Well when you look at Brady vs Wilson, you need to look closely. In the past month Brady has been the #1 fantasy player in the league ahead of Peyton. He's had 40 more pts than Wilson in just this past month. You shouldn't factor in the first month.
I was trying to shop Brees but there wasn't much interest for me either and I'm thinking I might just be better off anyway. He's going to have more 30pt games like he just had and has a good matchup tonight even out of the dome so I am starting him again.
My team is 3rd in pts now but I am 4-4. I will win again this week because I'm playing the worst team in the league.
It's funny, I hated my draft but actually feel like my team is primed to make a run in my league now especially if Sims emerges in TB
Forte has been unreal, by the way. His pt totals the last like 4 or so weeks have been off the charts. He had a rough 2-3 weeks after week 1 but he is the best fantasy RB for my money right now. He's putting up legit WR numbers on a weekly basis in addition to rushing for some pretty high totals.
I'd just keep Russell Wilson too. I guess i'd need to know the whole team, but a small bump in projected performance usually won't get me to part with a player.

Yeah, im merely looking at future projections. I guess if I were him id expect Brady to cool off, and not worth the risk when Russell can easily throw/run for 2 scores a game + rushing yards.
As a Brady owner, I'm hoping he continues to crush it.
RE: I'm always offering trades. I feel like I'm a fair offerer,
but I find myself thankful at the end of the season that people didn't accept my offers. The dude I offered Brady to has Russell Wilson.
I wouldn't do that deal either if I had Wilson. Wilson is putting up stud numbers this year. Not worth giving up Nelson.
Kmed, how do you feel about this trade?
Guy offers me Brady and Hillman for Antonio Brown. Standard 12 team league:
My Team (4-4):
QB: Ryan, Tannehill
RB: Charles, Fred Jackson, Doug Martin, Anthony Dixon, Sims, and Juwan Thompson (hope to pick up Sankey soon in waiver)
WR: Brown, Nelson, Floyd, Holmes, Gordon
TE: Gronk, Donnell
I didn't make any excuses. I'm 1 - 7 in that league. points scored are all you can control in FFL (to the extent you can control them by drafting players, picking them up in waivers, trading for them and then putting them in your lineup), points against you have zero to do with. Facts are facts.
And I have not been good at sit/start decisions. Shane Vereen has killed me. Percy Harvin killed me until I traded him, Keenan Allen has killed me. Most weeks I could have won had I started different players - so it's on me somewhat, but not making excuses either way.
we also start 3 WRs and a flex. I am 6-2(could easily be 8-0, but could at worst should be 5-3 so Ill settle for 6-2). I have the most points, and thanks to some good waiver wire pickups, I am pretty happy with how the rest of my season can turn out.
QB - Rivers, Ryan
RB - McCoy, Foster, Bradhsaw, Jennings
WR - Brown, Watkins, Lafell, Royal, Josh Gordon
TE - Davis
K - MCManus
D - Chiefs and Ravens
If McCoy can ever get started and Gordon comes back and produces - I should win some money. We pay out for total points too in my league.

Sly, I don't like it for you. Antonio Brown is the best fantasy WR, not worth it for an upgrade at QB.

Again, pts scored are clearly the only thing you can control, but a few monster weeks can skew those numbers.

I don't do it. Matt Ryan will keep chucking, just gotta hope he's not terrible on the road.
Thanks UConn.
I'm just hoping he does well even when he's at home. That oline is a mess.
WR is definitely a strength and you can use an RB2, but Antonio Brown can win any given week for you and I don't think Hillman will ever score enough or get the ball enough to do that for you.
I like Brady a lot more than Ryan, but A. Brown is the kicker for me.

I am really hurting at WR this week with both Jeffrey and Cobb on bye. I'm currently starting Hawkins and Moncrief, so I'm obviously pathetic. Would you think it a good idea to pick up Anquan Bolden off waivers and start him?
No love for my question? If you were in my place, would you take a shot with Bolden over either Hawkins or Moncrief? Please help the needy.
i'll never do it again. Just adds more randomness and the reward never fits the accomplishment in my book. Never understood why someone would get 5 bonus points for 100 yards receiving, which is 5.1 more points than someone who got 99 yards.

We don't have those kinds of bonuses.
I don't like the bonus points either. It's been this way forever, and these guys don't like to change stuff.
I like both those guys (Hawkins and Moncrief) long-term, Boldin might score more than one of them this week (Indy has a lot of options), but I'd stick with those two and not second guess it.
Have 3 guys on bye so struggling with my flex spot. Right now I have Johnathan Stewart in, but Williams is supposed to be back tonight and I saw someone mention above they have 3 OL out. Ideally I'm trying to drop Reggie Wayne for OBJ and play him on Monday, but won't know if I got him until Saturday. So if I don't start Stewart tonight and I don't get OBJ then I either have to start Vernon Davis on Sunday or Wayne and hope he plays on Monday. I think I'm going for OBJ and if that doesn't work keep monitoring the Wayne situation until my hand is forced on Davis.
Stuck with him through about five or six weeks and finally let him go when I had to start making some moves. Now someone else has him. And with my two top scorers, Aaron Rodgers and Randall Cobb, on their bi-weekend, it's going to be tough sledding for me against a 5-3 team.
My RB's this weekend are Oliver and McKinnon, my WR's are Sanu and OBJ, and my flex is either McFadden or Fitzgerald. That's how bad my team is. The good news is that Rivers is my backup QB, Graham got me 14 points on Thursday, and my defense is the Chiefs vs. Jets.

Bengals running back Giovani Bernard has been ruled out for Sunday against the Jaguars in Week 9 with a hip pointer, per the team's official website. Bernard wasn't able to practice all week after sustaining the injury in Week 8. Jeremy Hill is expected to start in his place.
His next chance to return will come Thursday night against the Browns in Week 10.
CINCINNATI -- Bengals running back Giovani Bernard, who hasn't practiced all week because of hip and collarbone injuries, will miss a game for the first time in his career on Sunday, coach Marvin Lewis said Friday.
Bernard, the Bengals' leading rusher with 446 yards and a career-high five rushing touchdowns, will be replaced by rookie Jeremy Hill against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
"The rest is going to be good for him," Lewis said.
Lewis and the Bengals said it was too soon to know if Bernard would be healthy enough to play next Thursday, when the Cleveland Browns visit Paul Brown Stadium.
"We'll cross those bridges then," Lewis said.
I have no idea whether to start Jordan Reed with RG3
I'm not into bonus points for 100 yard days, but I think the home team should get 3 extra points otherwise what's the point of designating one team as home and the other as away.
I would also consider a formula that reduces the points given during garbage time.

I agree, I'm mostly consistent
here are my points scored:
132 (W)
102 (L)
133 (L)
109 (L)
118 (L)
120 (L)
106 (L)
132 (L)
I realize this means nothing without knowing our scoring system, but my scores haven't fluctuated wildly and I had no monster weeks

Every week is a monster week in standard scoring. What is your scoring system that's different from standard's?
1QB
2RB
2WR
2 Flex
6 pts per passing TD
ppr
Bonuses for:
6 pts for a 80 yd (or greater) TD run, pass, or reception
4 pts for a 50 - 79 yard TD run, pass, or reception
6 pts for a 50 - 54 yd FG, 7 pts for 55 >
yardage: 1 point every 10 yards rushing/receiving, 1 pt every 25 yards passing
receptions: 3 pt bonus for 10 receptions
rushing: 3 pt bonus for 25 rushing attempts
passing: 3 pt bonus for 30 completions
it's all relative
No love for my question? If you were in my place, would you take a shot with Bolden over either Hawkins or Moncrief? Please help the needy.

YAJ - LOL Nice catch. My spelling is qusetionbull at bset.
Andrew Hawkins vs TB
or
Michael Floyd vs DAL
WR I'm a little stronger if guys bounce back and if Gordon produces when he comes back.
B Marshall, Floyd, Mike Wallace, Wayne/OBJ, Gordon
I've been kind of disappointed in him. Hawkins seems to be targeted a lot.
Do I replace Ben Tate with him or replace OBJ in my flex?
Sucks that Cooks already played, I would have just slotted OBJ in my WR3 spot and used Hill as my flex.
I'm playing the guy who has Gio and he still has him in the lineup, I don't normally root for stuff like this, but i hope he leaves him in.

I think I'm just going to start Reed even though he hasn't been all that great. He'll actually have a decent QB throwing to him this time around.
My gut keeps telling me to start Donnell though. Colts have no LBers/Safeties to speak of.
I would also consider a formula that reduces the points given during garbage time.
