NFT: Innappropriate scenarios to bring up politics

Ok, so one of my old classmates from high school just had her father pass away. I found out via facebook, but just as I was about to send her my condolences, she makes a post saying "in lieu of flowers" please vote Republican. Holy fucking shit, I'm not crazy for thinking that's wildly self serving and inappropriate, right? Anyways, I just wanted to see if BBI could throw together a list of scenarios that would be just as inappropriate to shoehorn politics front and center into the discussion.

rule #1 is never discuss politics even when a client brings it up. Forced into it, just remain neutral and agreeable. "We'll see what happens..." is my go to.

I'll only post on Sports/Entertainment related topics. Sometimes I feel like an asshole if I see something like a death in the family and don't comment on it, but its my personal preference to just not talk about that stuff and have it stick online for all eternity.

I don't do happy birthdays, anniversary thumbs ups, etc.

As far as the politics question, yeah, that's extremely poor taste.

We have a guy here running for state senate with the last name Fattman. I've been dying for a reason to vote for him and this clinches it.

I just wish I had time to get a Fattman sign for my lawn.

No. Massachusetts, which generally means Republican votes are purely sympathy votes like my vote for Fattman will be.

And it's obviously not a serious attempt at influencing anyone's vote. My guess is that it's a little attempt at levity regarding the guy's political leanings. Kind of like saying he was a lifelong Giants fan. It's just Facebook.

His sister was giving a speech in the Church during the ceremony and asked for everyone to pray for the president (won't say which one) but she used his full name and said we should all pray that he gets his agenda done to make our country a better place. I found that to be a little absurd.
