now 4th and goal
MookGiants : 10/30/2014 7:36 pm : link
I would kick the field goal
No points after goalline stand.

take the points.

Stupid move by Petrino. Kick the FG
Anakim : 10/30/2014 7:38 pm : link
Nice catch by Devante Parker though

Watch Louisville S Gerod Holliman. Absolutely sick S
Louisville ' s defense is pretty damn good

disagree on kicking the FG
TexasGmenFan : 10/30/2014 7:45 pm : link
you're at home and playing the # 1 team. the strength of your team is the D.

you go for the points there. didn't work out, but no problem with the decision.

How did ND lose again to FSU? Oh yeah, officials blew that call.

Still whining, huh?
Greg from LI : 10/30/2014 8:09 pm : link
The tears of Domers are sweet indeed.
No question they blew that call
Bake54 : 10/30/2014 8:17 pm : link
once that FSU player ripped off his helmet, it was offsetting penalties. The officials even admitted they missed that.
lousiville's line is
section125 : 10/30/2014 8:18 pm : link
kicking butt.
if FSU
MookGiants : 10/30/2014 8:20 pm : link
loses this game and ND runs the table I'm very interested to see if they would put an 11-1 ND over FSU. They have TCU ahead of Baylor right now and Oregon ahead of Arizona, so they can't just blindly put them ahead because of head to head. ND would likely finish with more quality wins if that were to happen
So if Louisville beats FSU at home
Bake54 : 10/30/2014 8:21 pm : link
and then ND beats Louisville at home. How do you rank the 3 teams?

I think they would like to drop FSU because of the Winston issues.
sorry Mook

you asked a similar question
Louisville's NT is
section125 : 10/30/2014 8:31 pm : link
just manhandling FSUs center every play.
This will burn you up Mook....

Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long is also the chairman of the playoff committee and he was a guest on "The Dan Patrick Show" when he was asked about Notre Dame's ranking. Long explained that the loss was impressive but it was still a loss. But more importantly, Long noted that Notre Dame doesn't have any impressive wins.

"I think if you look at Notre Dame's resume at this point, they have a very close loss against Florida State on the road and it is a loss," Long told Dan Patrick. "But the rest of the body of their work against the teams they have played has not impressed the committee as much as the teams that are ahead of Notre Dame."

In fact, the committee was so unimpressed with Notre Dame's six wins, all at home and none against teams currently in the top-25, Long suggested that the Irish would have been much lower in the rankings if not for their "good loss" to Florida State.

"Then you look at the rest of the body of [Notre Dame's] work, I would tell you [the loss to Florida State] did help them."

from yahoo sports
the big issue
MookGiants : 10/30/2014 8:36 pm : link
I have with that is Michigan State's resume is no better. Nebraska sucks. Look no further than being tied 24-24 late in the 4th quarter against an FCS team at home. Nebraska is only ranked because of their pathetic schedule, they don't pass the eye test, they don't pass any test. If you are tied late in the 4th against an FCS team you're garbage

Bake54 : 10/30/2014 8:48 pm : link
underestimated Louisville...21-0
#25 Louisville is blowing out the team that beat ND
Peter in Atlanta : 10/30/2014 8:50 pm : link
I guess that ends the ND discussion.
Louisville
MookGiants : 10/30/2014 8:50 pm : link
is a good football team, and the Thursday night games have always been tricky spots for the road team. DeVante Parker finally playing is huge for them, they may be undefeated if he played all year, 1 loss at worst.

I think this helps ND. Gives them another chance at a quality win.
Jeez..... Enough with the Notre Dame bullshit.
Stu : 10/30/2014 8:51 pm : link
The only teams they've beaten with winning records are Rice and Stanford. Let it go.
See this is why if I am a ND
dep026 : 10/30/2014 8:52 pm : link
fan, I dont get caught up in the rankings. Its all point of view. People will boost ND's schedule because Louisville is good. Others will point NDs schedule isnt as good because FSU is getting whalloped.

Every year there is a clusterfuck around this time, and usually by the end of the year, its pretty much cleared up. If ND wins out, Ill be shocked if they arent included. Yeah there are some teams who can fuck it up for them, but I dont think there are a lot of dominant teams in college this year and a lot of teams in the top 10 will have at least 2 if not 3 losses by the end of the regular season.
The transitive
MookGiants : 10/30/2014 8:52 pm : link
property has never really worked in football. Especially when one game was at FSU and one wasn't.

Would be like saying Oregon is out of the discussion because Arizona lost (at home) to USC.

Stanford is a bad football team I guess? Their losses are to AZ State, ND, and USC.

I bet you think Nebraska is a good football team, don't you?
Louisville
MookGiants : 10/30/2014 8:54 pm : link
does not want to give FSU momentum going into half, especially with FSU getting back coming out of halftime
Actually, I don't think Nebraska is very good at all.
Stu : 10/30/2014 8:54 pm : link
Next question?
I thought
MookGiants : 10/30/2014 8:57 pm : link
you were not allowed to fumble the ball forward at the end of each half and advance it
Strong
Rflairr : 10/30/2014 8:57 pm : link
really developed some 2 and 3 star talent into strong NFL prospects. Very good job at Louisville. Petrino walked into a lucky situation

maybe it's NFL only. Either that or rules like that don't apply to FSU
If that fumble happened on 4th down with the resulting play, the ball
Stu : 10/30/2014 9:08 pm : link
would have been spotted on the 1 yard line. On any other down it's a touchdown, like it was called there.
go down
MookGiants : 10/30/2014 9:25 pm : link
you idiot.
FSU damn lucky so far.
yatqb : 10/30/2014 9:32 pm : link
Awful game for Winston so far. They're damn explosive, but not a #1 team imo.
why
MookGiants : 10/30/2014 9:42 pm : link
was the FSU receiver allowed to spike the ball?
Louisville
MookGiants : 10/30/2014 9:54 pm : link
now can't do anything right
his calf
MookGiants : 10/30/2014 9:58 pm : link
was on the ground, therefore he is down.
That's a fumble

I think it's pretty clear that his right calf was on the ground. They screw up replays routinely though, so nothing would be a surprise

too close to overturn. But, looked like ball was coming loose beforehand
No fumble, but

ball get through 3 people????
That
MookGiants : 10/30/2014 10:24 pm : link
was going to be picked off if the defenders didn't run into each other. Horseshoe firmly up FSU's ass.
Holy shyte,
