Watkins, Benjamin, Cooks, Beckham.. these guys have all had instant impacts. Literally from the day they took the field. The learning curves seem faster than ever right now

When I was coaching high school football from about 2000 until by the time I moved and switched schools in 2006, they were shifting away from power formations to the spread offense even at that level.
These WR's today are running offenses with pro tendencies as early as high school, in some instances earlier.
I remember when I was younger.. even the early round rookie WR's usually took some time to really see a lot of snaps and get involved. Obviously there were exceptions but it was rare to see a team not only have these guys on the field a lot but actually even have them a focal part of their offenses.
All 4 of the guys I mentioned above literally made their presences felt the first game they played. Cooks, Benjamin and Beckham all scored in their first NFL game. Watkins scored in his second in a game where he caught 11 passes for 117 yards.
Nothing is more frustrating than letting that happen. 3rd and long, you collapse the pocket, you cover decently and you let the QB find a lane and run for it. Drives me insane when it happens to us.

Agree completely and a lot of these guys have mediocre QB's. Even smaller impacts are felt by guys like Allen Robinson (on track for 80 catches for 900 yards with henne/a rookie QB), Mike Evans has been good, even Jordan Matthews has had more of an impact than typically thought of for rookies.
You'll see almost any team play better at home than they do on the road for the most part but the difference between the Saints in the dome and on the road really is staggering. It's like two different football teams.
Newton has got to know better than to be flailing the ball around that close to the end zone on a down where you know the pressure is coming. Have to expect NO to get the TD quick here.
Nice play by Cam.

He didn't look overrated right there.
- Cam Newton.
