If Romo Stays Healthy, I Think Dallas Has a Shot This Year

Eric from BBI : Admin : 11/11/2014 2:32 pm
Arizona just lost Palmer.

Seattle just suffered a huge blow by losing DT Brandon Mebane. Don't seem to have the receiving threats.

The 49ers don't seem all that intimidating anymore.

Who knows what will happen with Eagles at QB?

NFC South? Yuck?

Detroit? Not in my lifetime. Perhaps Green Bay. Obviously Seattle still could give them trouble.

They may get to see the Pats, Colts, or Broncos in the Super Bowl.

Highly doubt he leads Dallas to a SB.

Plus, their defense is going to get toasted. In postseason.

Not true. He won 1 playoff game, vs Philly in 09
I guess I'm in the minority here

I think Sanchez is a legit QB now that he has weapons and a good OC in Kelly. I also think the Philly blitz will get to Romo the way it did when they played the Skins.
I don't care who wins it as long as it's not Dallas or SF.
I'll root for the Cards, GB and even Detroit.
I really think people are underestimating Sanchez. He was impressive in his debut last night.
BTW,

"Stays healthy"? Has he been healthy yet this year?

He's playing like a fucking warrior, unfortunately.
Dallas isn't even guaranteed to make the

playoffs. If the Eagles win the NFC East, they will have to contend with Green Bay, Detroit, Arizona, Seattle and San Fran.

And BTW, I would very easily put Detroit up their as well. I'm not sure why "not in my lifetime" applies to them this year, they look really good.
Fuck

How is romo going to stay healthy
gmenatlarge : 11/11/2014 5:41 pm : link
When the morons in charge have him playing late in a 31-7 game and still dropping back to pass and taking hits! The idiocy there is mind-numbing. Go, Jerrah!
Down the stretch here are the NFC teams I will route for:
giantgiantfan : 11/11/2014 5:58 pm : link
- Detroit, always liked them growing up because of Barry Sanders. That dumpster fire deserves a superbowl like Cleveland does.
- Green Bay, I have no positive or negative feelings towards this franchise.
- Arizona, see Green Bay.
- New Orleans, outside of Lousiana they have some bandwagon ass fans who oddly enough, I haven't seen at bars since they were hot a few years ago. Regardless, I have no feelings positive or negative towards these guys.

I can't stomach any other NFC contended winning it. The worst in this order would be: Seattle, Philly, Dallas, 49ers. Seattle tops the list because of a loud mouth friend of mine. Because of him I want Seattle to be irrelevant for the rest of his life.

I'll be rooting for the following teams to win it all this year in this order: Cleveland, Detroit, Denver, Indy, Arizona, Green Bay, New Orleans.

Ditto
I can't believe New Orleans

is leading their division at 4-5?! JUst think about that?! GIants would be 1 game back in that division! The NFC South really sucks this year.

Anyway, I wouldn't mind seeing Detroit or some other team win their 1st Super Bowl, except Philly!

To me it comes down to which team is playing the best defense. Even though it's still an offensive-centric league, its that defense, whomever it is, that will make the difference in the playoffs.
dallas needs DeMarco to stay healthy
twostepgiants : 11/11/2014 6:34 pm : link
Oobviously they need Romo to stay healthy but that is true of any contender. No team can win with a backup QB in todays NFL

DeMarco has never been able to stay healthy and he has turned into the best RB in the NFL. He is the key to what is making Dallas a real contender this year
This is honestly Romo's best chance
Emil : 11/11/2014 6:37 pm : link
They have all the pieces this year and probably won't have most of them next year with Bryant, Murray, Free, and Parnell all FAs (not to mention half their defense).
They Could
BBurns : 11/11/2014 6:37 pm : link
But if they lose any more Key Players on Defense
and I don't thing Murray will hold up way to
many carries .Romo takes to many hits .
Philly is athletic and well coached not
Sure if Sanchez can play consistantly not sure
If Foles makes it back . I wouldnt fall asleep
no the Lions but they have to run the ball better IMO
to keep winning .
I think the both Cowboys and Eagles have great shot of
micky : 11/11/2014 7:17 pm : link
being SB champions this year.
There really is no dominant team
DavidinBMNY : 11/11/2014 7:27 pm : link
This year.

Should be fun once the playoffs start.
I'll be rooting

for teams I dislike to beat teams I hate. Thanks, Giants.
I'll tell you what,
barens : 11/11/2014 7:58 pm : link
I'd hate to be the wild card team that plays against the Saints(assuming they win the division).

Well the Eagles did go into Indy and win. They went to Arizona and lost on the final play of the game.

They're legit... but i suspect we'll see the real Mark Sanchez soon and their run game shockingly... sucks. Not sure why, but McCoy not only is having a lousy year, but i dont think i've ever seen him carry the rock as lazily as he is this year. It's almost like he and Chip Kelly are in some kind of feud (obviously I'm speculating).

And there is no way this current special teams/defensive TDs stretch of theres is sustainable. It seems almost historical the run they are currently on between Sproles returns and defensive TDs.
The Eagles lost Todd Herremans for the season
Bake54 : 11/11/2014 8:15 pm : link
so they have 4 out of the 5 starters on OL back now. I think with Chip Kelly's system, Sanchez can be good enough and, to me, they look like the team to beat as of this week.
in this division, yes
MetsAreBack : 11/11/2014 8:17 pm : link
but i think Green Bay beats them next week and secures #1 overall seed in the conference.

To me GB is a little bit more well-rounded with a significantly better QB.

Seconded. Hate the f-ing birds, and their fans.
astonished people dont mind the cowboys or eagles winning

Put me in the camp that has grown to feel sorry for Romo. I seethed hatred towards Romo and the Cowboy up to 2007 when we beat them in the playoffs and then their team spiraled out of control. I thought Romo was a prick but have come around on him. He's suffered and doesn't seem like a bad guy. Granted, something about getting older means not hating things so much as it's a waste of time. Philly though - there's just something about them I do not like.
I think this is a year (more than any)
SLIM : 11/11/2014 10:04 pm : link
that the key is to get into the playoffs and then everyone has a chance. All of these teams have flaws so Philly and Cowboys have a good shot. This is worrisome.

The upside. With a good draft and a DC change (at minimum), we could be right back up there by next year.
I don't think Dallas even makes it to post season.
George : 11/11/2014 10:18 pm : link
Their last six games are as hard as ours are easy.
