Traina B/R: 49ers vs Giants: Breaking down New York's game plan
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2264514-49ers-vs-giants-breaking-down-new-yorks-game-plan

@RVacchianoNYDN: Only other Giant (besides SS Antrel Rolle) to rank in Top 10 in Pro Bowl voting at his position: Jason Pierre-Paul, 9th among NFL DEs.

@Patricia_Traina: Scary stat: Of the Giants 6 losses this season, 5 of those games have seen at least one player land on injured reserve the following week.

in only 14 games, and it could've been worse!

I'm convinced Tom Landry took pity on the Maras and his old team in the season finale and called off the dogs. That was a team that had put up 52 points on the Giants in the opener, and repeated the feat twice more over the course of the season. What other explanation is there for only 17 in the last game of the year against a weak team that averaged giving up over 35 points per game?

11-13-2005 Touchdowns on returns propel Vikings to win over Giants
http://fs64sports.blogspot.com/2014/11/2005-tds-on-returns-propel-vikings-to.html

RIP To former WWII Navy veteran, UCLA Star, and NFL Star with the LA Rams: Don Paul
"Paul was a center and linebacker for the Bruins in a collegiate playing career which was split by a stint in the Navy during World War II. He was a three-time team captain and became the first freshman to ever serve as captain of the UCLA team. After the war, he returned to help UCLA achieve its first 10-win season in 1946. The Bruins outscored the opposition 327-117 that year and climbed as high as No. 4 in the Associated Press poll before playing Illinois in the Rose Bowl. Paul earned second-team All-America honors that season on a team which featured the likes of Burr Baldwin, Tom Fears, Leon McLaughlin, Harry Thompson, Jerry Shipkey, Ernie Case, Cal Rossi and Al Hoisch among others. That squad was the first UCLA team to generate over 4,000 yards of total offense. No UCLA team reached that level again until the 1969 campaign. The 1946 defense surrendered an average of just over three yards per play, which remians one of the lowest marks in school history.
Paul was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams and went on to play for the team from 1948-55. The Rams advanced to the NFL championship game three years in a row after Paul joined the team. In 1951, the Rams captured the championship with a 24-17 victory over the Cleveland Browns. He was selected to the Pro Bowl in 1951, 1952 and 1953 and was first-team All-Pro in 1953. Paul was voted to the All-NFL team in 1952, 1953 and 1954."

That had the full Giants Cowboys game a couple of years ago and I watched it...the Cowboys had clinched their first Eastern Championsip the day before so there was no meaning to the game, Meredith sat as the then young QB's Craig Morton and Jerry Rhome shared duties...just a flat day all around...sad part was seeing a Giant great Jimmy Patton in his last game getting some late playing time at safety on a wretched team.

The only unexplainable game was the first Redskin game, Jurgensen left in the second half with a concussion but a team with Bobby Mitchell and Charlie Taylor only scoring ten points is hard to imagine.

The only other team the Giants D has some success with was St. Louis, however despite their 8-5-1 record, the Cards only scored over 24 points twice that season, they had Jackie Smith but their once standout receivers Bobby Joe Conrad and Sonny Randle were aging.
Adding to the ignominy of the 1966 season
