to feel that way. The season is way over already for the X consecutive season. Now my concern shifts to hoping the rest of my tix get bought on the exchnage. Sad state of affairs but thats the way it is.
On the bright side, it frees up Sundays to do something more enjoyable than watching this shit show. Like spending time with the kids, house work, etc.
i'm going to DVR the game on sunday and watch the massacre in 45 minutes instead of wasting a whole afternoon.
at this point for the rest of the season, i would just like to see:
1. young giants who have not had a chance to get much playing time have a chance to play a lot aps - especially kennard, moore, bromley, behre, washington
2. No injuries to Eli, OB, & hankins
I thought at beginning of the season this whole thing
was a rebuild, work in progress. Also, thought by now, this time of season that they'd be improving. Along with the division not being so good that, even though not thinking (but also maybe hoping by luck) the Giants win the division, but be competitive in til december at least.
This had turned into a depressing clusterfuck, with injury bug again, and all with the digression of this team. And, yeah it sucks to be out of it all a couple weeks before Thanksgiving now.
due to the fact our fate is sealed. I guess it will be another interesting off season with FA signings, re-signings, and draft info. depending on what draft slot we have this year.

used to go to great lengths back in the day to see as many Giants games as possible. Even to the extent that we bought a black and white battery operated tv and went to the top of a mountain to get the signal from Binghamton, when the Giants were not televised in this area.
I am so thrilled with today's technology that allows me to view every Giants game. It is a family activity, although my Dad is no longer with us.
I wouldn't consider missing a game, just because they are down. They were down some of the years we climbed that mountain to watch.
This team with Eli has potential to win any game. I keep watching hoping this is the Sunday they put it together. If they don't, I will keep watching anyway.
We have been spoiled, but older fans like me, remember a time much worst than this. Things will get better, and they will get better sooner rather than later.
This franchise has proven itself. They have hit upon hard times, I think the direct result of winning two Super Bowls, too loyal for too long, to the wrong people.
But they will get it fixed maybe as soon as next season, maybe sooner.

yeah, even that is still a long 4 months away
Yeah but the more we lose the better pick we get. I don't expect much for niners , dallas, and Eagles games. That's 3 right there. The rest I am curious to see if we show up.
the idea of actually considering doing anything but sitting in front of the tv and watching but my blood pressure shoots through the roof with each passing disgrace of a game.
with the Mara's philosophy of making sure your last game means something.
Through the Coughlin era, this has always been the case. Even though some of the December swoons were tough to take, at least we were in it.
To have meaningless football BEFORE Thanksgiving 2 seasons in a row is really tough to take. What better way to celebrate Thanksgiving than to watch how the games unfold and affect the Giants in the playoff push.
This year we don't have that and we get to watch Dallas and Philly fight it out for 1st place.

Its hard to swallow now but these bad years make the championship years taste a little sweeter. That is if we have any more
an increased workload. It's time to find out what we've got in:
Schwartz - not young, but need to get him some work next to Pugh and shorten the learning curve for next season
Moore - enough of Kiwi, let's see what Moore can do
Kennard - starter material?
Bromley - I don't care if he takes snaps from Jenkins, Kuhn, or Patterson, get him on the field
Robinson - Fells has been solid, but he's a stop gap
Behre - can't be worse than Demps/Brown and they NEED a safety next year
Washington - gotta get him 5-10 snaps a game. See what's there

It's unlikely to happen if the coaches feel they're coaching for their jobs, but as a fan it would be good to see.
I remember when I would get to see the Giants just a few times a year! I used to travel to St Louis just to catch a game.
Win or lose I still do more normal game day routine and even after 30 years of marriage my wife(most wonderful person alive)still sets her calender to the upcoming season.
I know a lot of fans are younger but I only have a set number of games left. I plan on finding something enjoyable about every one of them even if it's just the banter when commiserating with my son after a loss!
That Philadelphia game was the worst loss I've experienced as a fan in the first half of a season.
So much optimism destroyed and essentially a season derailed in blowout loss to our arch rival as our star goes down for the year (worst case scenario, never the same player).
much loyalty for too many people equals another season that is done before Thanksgiving. Two SBs don't excuse missing the playoffs yet another year, and even worse, being flat out blown out in many games.
I now look back to my bartering with Direct TV to get a reduced price on Sunday Ticket as an exercise in futility.
The one plus side is I am free on Sunday afternoons to do things with my wife. At least I keep saying going to the this weekends Sugar Loaf craft festival is fun.
So that we shouldn't have to put up with this shit. He's the absolute last person I feel any empathy for. He's the biggest problem at this point and there are many problems. There is no way he should be back next year. He should have been let go with Gilbride.
We are just a bad team and have been one for quite some time
A roster that lacked talent to begin with is now decimated by injury and we have a staff that doesn't know how to get the most out of young unproven players. Ingredients for disaster. Time to nuke the organization and start over with a group that is hungry to win and prove themselves.
OBJ is about the only reason to watch this team at this point. How far we have fallen.
and say, would I take a couple lousy years after winning two Super Bowls in five seasons? The answer for every single person on this board would have been yes in 2006. Well, here we are.

Coughlin is hte biggest problem, and not the horrendous O-line?
What coach could fix this dogshit O-line?

Hopefully Mara/Tisch don't run things like fans think and TC/Reese know where they stand.
And it's not like the vets in any of those cases are lighting things on fire. Most are nicked up (Jenkins/Fells) and/or playing like shit (Demps/Brown/Kiwi/etc).

History suggests coaches will make decisions geared towards giving the perceived best chance to win, and ultimately protect their jobs. I expect more of that, it's rare that coaches choose differently.
see the Giants take the field and compete. I thought after how bad the team was last year and all the holes in our line that this was definitely a 2 year rebuild at the least. Though I'm disgusted with a few of JR's moves this off season I was excited to see that we finally should have had some very good deep pass protection this year with the new guys we brought in but then the injuries just kept stacking up and up.
I was very disappointed that JR clearly didn't even come close to fixing the O-line which was the major broken component of our 2013 offense.
Clearly the odds are against us beating SF but being the optimist that I am I'm still thinking we can win this game.
..the defense could get much worse than it already is with the blow softened only by an upcoming 4 game stretch of bad teams. This team has no established roots down right now - a good young DT and 2 good corners (assuming DRC doesn't flake out) one of whom is on IR. The rest of the defense is completely fluid going into next year.
Couple this with a lame duck DC and there's a decent chance a good number of players check out for good if we lose this week.
I wouldn't be surprised with back to back home blowouts the next two weeks.
Honestly this team hasn't played Giants football since 2008
and commitment of interest to their teams; that is as it should be.
I would also be the first to admit that the New York Giants have far too much influence on my attitude, positive or negative, the Monday mornings following a Giants game during the season.
Having stated that, I must admit that I am surprised by the number of fans on this site, whose energy towards following the team is mostly influenced by the success or failure of that team in any given year.
It's such a short season, only 16 regular season games, I look forward in anticipation to it all through the off season, just not that easy for me write off a season.
It's still football, it's still Giants football, and in this particular case, at 3-6, there is at least 1 more very meaningful game left this season.....maybe more.
What pisses me off so much are all the no-show blowouts, all the games they never even had a prayer to win. They were at least in the game for a while against Seattle.
and been a Giant fan since the 50's and I will die a Giant fan. That commitment doesn't change with bad seasons. The only thing different in my fandom is that I don't let the losses effect my life like I did when I was young.
Times like this it must be hard to find the energy to run the site. I keep half expecting Eric to throw up the white flag with the site.
I also think most fans have a difficult time maintaining some perspective. Certainly this year has so far been another disappointment. But I do believe in swings of fortune. And the same swings in fortune that gave us two recent Super Bowl victories can go the other way with injuries and things just not working out.
I have seen this team in 5 Super Bowls. I am glad my kids were old enough really enjoy the 2011 run. EVERY non Giants fan that I know would happily trade places...except maybe the Steelers fans I know.
is the uncertainty after this season...we may or may not get a high draft pick, but the defense is having enough trouble as is, and there's a possibility of losing JPP, Amukamara, Rolle and who knows what's what with Beason.
I would love to get back to power football and dominating the LOS. That doesn't seem to be the recipe league wide though. I do hope that Eli's successor is a mobile read option type of guy. The Seattle offense is my favorite to watch in the NFL...and they do it without their QB taking a pounding.

This^^. Except for traveling to St Louis (I used to travel to Stamford), I could have written this myself.
We have been spoiled, but older fans like me, remember a time much worst than this. Things will get better, and they will get better sooner rather than later.
Stop with the we're spoiled bullshit. Do you mean to tell me that we as fans have to enjoy watching this shit just because they won a Super Bowl 3 years ago?
It's posted here often that we're spoiled. We're not spoiled. We want our favorite team to at least be competent. I watch no matter what, but I don't enjoy having them get their brains beat out every week just because of what's happened in the past.
If pass-happy offenses are all the rage, you'd suspect that the kind of players needed to run a smashmouth offense are an undervalued commodity, Moneyball-style, and thus it could be easier to rebuild in that manner.
.....and I'm not trying to be glib here...........is that we're almost certainly not going to have one of those absolutely soul crushing last second defeats where you walk around in a haze, replaying it in your mind for AT LEAST a day. Two reasons for this............first whenever we play a team with at least an average amount of talent, such as Seattle, at some point in the game they're just going to pull away from us, resulting in a relatively easy win for them. And secondly, even if we somehow did hang on til the very end of the game only to suffer a last second loss, it's not going to mean anything in terms of getting into first place, making the playoffs, getting HFA, etc. Plus, we can also tell ourselves that any such last second loss will help us get a better draft pick

Hate to say it, but I agree with Gman11. He's right about every word. Oh man. That was painful to say.

I've been saying just that for a couple years! I think the league is ripe for a team to come in and completely commit to building an offense around a core of 2 or 3 running QBs and strong run blocking OL.
If I got a job this offseason running a putrid offensive team with no stability at QB that would be exactly the approach I'd take. Let's use the Jets as an example. If I'm the Jets I'd do the following this offseason:
- Draft Marcus Mariota
- Retain Geno Smith
- Use a later round pick on a mobile QB that might otherwise go undrafted (Everett Golson is the name off the top of my head, but I don't watch much college football. A quick look at WalterFootball.com shows several QB prospects with mobility projected for rounds 4-7).
Assuming Vick leaves, I would now have 3 mobile QBs, one of whom already has NFL experience. I then install an offense similar to what the Seahawks ran on us Sunday. Obviously they were facing an awful defense, but forget the yardage totals for a second. What's important is that they did not panic and stop running the ball even though the offense was step for step bascially until the end of the third quarter.
Russell Wilson's a good player, but he's not great. He often looks better than he actually is because the threat of the run (from either him or Lynch) is resulting in throwing to WIDE OPEN people. Wilson isn't making Luck-type throws where he's throwing covered guys open.
I would take the same approach were I running the Jets, but one step further. Lose the idea of the franchise QB...you don't even have to draft Mariota...just draft two mobile guys later to go with Geno Smith (who you would now encourage to use his mobility...making him a much more effective player than the neutered mess Rex Ryan has made him). Once the three QBs are in place, rotate them in game in a run-based offense.
I would love to see a team take this approach, because I think it may be the best way in the cap era to build a strong TEAM. It's tough to sells jerseys when you're rotating QBs though.
The Redskins were SO CLOSE to implementing something approaching what I'm talking about when they drafted RG3...they just drafted the wrong QB to go with him. Had they drafted Wilson instead of Cousins they would have had a hell of a combo, and the transition post-Ngata hit would have been seamless.
Why build an offense around a QB's running talent (which I still think is the enormous untapped weapon in the NFL) and then have an immobile backup that can't run the same offense? Makes no sense.
that's why you keep the pipeline going. Don't sign them to that big second contract; keep drafting new guys. In short, treat it like every other position on the field. We don't care about Reuben Randle's feelings when we draft Odell Beckham, right?
If every snap is an audition, they're gonna play hungry.
the Panthers and Niners have done? Build dominant, smash-mouth running games coupled with great defenses. Granted they don't have multiple mobile QBs but Cam/Kap stayed healthy last season.
One other weakness is you also need to stock up on RBs because if you're offense is successful, you'll be giving it to your bellcow 25+ times a game and he's going to get some nicks and bruises.
who's arm is at least good enough to keep defenses honest (i.e. NOT Tebow). Otherwise (good) teams will stack 8-9 guys in the box and play disciplined, assignment football and shut you down.
Plus you need to be able to make plays in the air if/when your team falls behind.
The players keep changing on both sides of the ball and the results and the way those results are manifested continue to remain the same or deteriorate. It's time to change the man in charge of those results. The DC needs to go. The OL coach needs to go. The LB coach needs to go. The ST coach needs to go. It's time for a new coaching staff. It ends for all people in sports.
2 years in a row the season is over before the half way point. The injuries have really decimated this team again. Poor coaching and back-up players aren't going to win many games. It's sad when the most you have to cheer for is to not get embarrassed....
But watch college...those guys are all over the place.
And the Broncos' big mistake with Tebow was drafting him to do something other than what he was good at (i.e. running the ball from the QB spot). So many coaches seem to make the mistake of imposing their system on the player rather than molding the system based on the player's strengths.
Another big flaw in the NFL is the concept of the "franchise QB". It is such a limiting concept that can be incredibly damaging if you miss on the player...not just financially, either.
Mypoia and inertia run rampant in the NFL. Absolutely rampant.
and I didn't watch him much in college, but from what I saw in the NFL, Tebow could not pass the ball adequately to: 1) keep defenses honest, 2) be a threat to carry a team back after falling behind by a few scores (inevitable at some point).
No ones mistaking Newton or Kapernick (sp?) or Wilson for Peyton, but all 3 of them have the ability to do the above. I don't watch enough CFB to know if the guys "all over the place" are closer to Tebow or this trio, but I think guys have to be quite a bit better than Tebow was as a passer even to run the type of offense you are suggesting.
The only question now is how long it takes ownership to wake up,
can't get anything out of watching games that are inconsequential as far as playoffs.
I will be tripping over myself on Sunday running to the TV to watch more of Beckham.
That said, I'm decidedly at the "I don't care at all if they lose" stage already. I want to see an impact DE or LT in this draft and that's much more likely picking in the top 10. If they win, let the chips falls where they may (like with Beckham last year) but I am not sweating losses anymore,

I'm not exactly that down on the team, but it's less that they're inconsequential as far as the playoffs are concerned, and more that they haven't been competitive.
Seattle's game was actually a decent game, until the defense decided to mail it in sometime in the 3rd quarter. But games like Philly, the Colts - no matter how big a fan you are, it's hard to watch them just sit there and get pounded by better teams with little or no response.
very ambivalent about wins/losses at this point and rooting for them just not to get blown out. I'd like to see some of the young players develop but outside of that I can't get too worked up about it. I wasn't expecting much this year and only wanted to see the progress with the new offense....then, they looked good in those three wins and I started to think they could be decent, but they aren't. It was always going to be a transition year anyway but the injuries just buried this team.
Didn't you read that Fewell has predicted a win on Sunday? And that he has a philosophy?
CHEER UP!
By the way, Mara has ordered Fewell's straightjacket to be delivered on Saturday.
It would truly take a miracle for the Giants to even be a playoff team this year, and with key injuries, a minor miracle to go 8-8.
You have to see what they have at game-time. Maybe if even just 1 out of that list is a game day type player, that's one less to go searching for in the draft/FA. Plus as mentioned, no one on that list can be much worse than the one he is taking snaps from.
I've been a fan 58 years, and we already have a better record than our worst year, so I say, let the player evaluations begin.
Don't get EM or OBjr killed should be the O goal; the D should find guys that can 'communicate' in the same language.
We already know what the veterans can(can not is closer) do.
which happened towards the end of last year. The dupes/trolls will take over the game threads. I'm kind of surprised that we didn't have as many trolls or well, people suggesting we launch pee at the players like we did last year. GOOOOOO GIants!!?! Wooohooo Yeah!!! Were gonna win? Win number 4 coming up!!!?
Back when the team stunk in the last two years under Reeves, the defense was good enough to let them hang around in most games. You knew the offense was never going to score enough to win, but you could maintain the illusion because they weren't down 27-0 or something like that.
But we also want to be competitive and at least in the playoff hunt every year too. I think it's possible to do both with a great QB which the Giants have. This awful team is not just Mara's fault or Ross and Reese's fault or Coughlins fault or Kilbrides etc. it's been a collective effort but ultimately the head coach has full control of a team (the good and not so good ones) this is a bad team.
To be fair, personnel wise there are some bright spots for the future. Eli for one who will have a full year with the offense. Hanks Pugh. And I actually thought with Beckham and Richburg at C next year Ross and Reese finally had a good draft this year (too early to say on Kennard and Williams) and if Bromley develops and Berhe becomes a force at safety it would be a great draft. I like Coughlin I just think it's time to move on from the head coach. Fewell and Quinn and the others are a reflection of the man who hired them. He spends time with them and discusses and approves of their ideas and use of personnel. But why the continued procedure penalties? Why hasn't Moore developed? Why does Donnell look like he will fumble every time he catches a pass? Why does the team appear ready to lose when falling behind by double digits? I just think all roads lead to the head coach and the team is just killing time and getting paid now. I endured the late 60s and then Arnsbarger and mcVay and the worst GMs in history. The giants were champions in 56 and in the championship game through 63. Then 17 years of horrid football overseen by Wellington. That was tough - lots anfd lots of lost seasons. Do 2 Super Bowls wins outweigh 3 or 4 more lost seasons on top of these two? Maybe but I'd rather add another one in the future than talk about how great the coach was in the past. Players run their course and so do coaches. This team needs a new presence and that choice and next years draft will decide whether this team turns this around.
So blah, big time. But rumors of significant change anywhere in management would be delicious. Are there any? If not, is it that there aren't any or that we have no access to them? BBI needs a spy upstairs -- or someone who used to be upstairs -- who leaks. Can we at least get one of those? I mean it can't be real happy up there right now either. Any resumes floating around from upstairs types -- or movement out at any level from upstairs? How about bad health rumors (physical or mental)? Any yelling, backbiting, fighting, people not showing up for work (or not showing up sober), nasty emails, slashed tires, deer scent under people's desks? You know, all that stuff. I don't wish bad health or injury on anyone, but, under stress, bad things do tend to happen. And there can be no greater stress at the moment than being a New Yorker and at the same time being attached to this sinking ship.
I always want to see the Giants play. The NFL has the longest offseason, and the shortest regular season. I wait so long for the season to start, and there are only 16 games.
It is that long wait that makes crummy seasons like this so painful. I take a few months to get the last year behind me, good or bad. Then I wait and I wait and get psyched up. To be let down like this by Veterans Day just stinks. Even worse is dreading the games for fear of having my team embarrassed.
I always want to see the Giants win. Draft position be damned.
But what hurts the most is getting the feeling that I care more about it than the players do. That 4th quarter against the Seahawks was a nightmare in that regard.
I am giving my tickets for Sunday to my daughter and her boyfriend so I can go to a fundraiser for a high school buddy with cancer. Usually if I don't go to the game I will DVR it because I can't stand sitting through the commercials, and I avoid all mass media until I can watch it in the evening. But I suspect that the game will be on at the bar where the fundraiser is happening so I will watch, and hope not to cringe.
If I were rational, I would wonder why I devote so much psychic energy, not to mention actual money to this. But I'm a Giant fan, and basically have no choice. This is what we do.
Maybe already discussed but what got me this season was the 3 game stretch where they suddenly put it all together. I was completely fooled. I had visions of an 11-5 / 10 - 6 competitive year and then that shit show in Philly sent the season off the rails. This kinda blows. lol.
since the mid 90s. Fucking depressing. Even worse, I haven't stressed about a NYG game in a long time now. Outside of the two dallas games last year which were close, and maybe the dallas game this year--not much drama. Just blowouts and bad play.
I'm miserable but the lack of heartbreaking close losses isn't something I miss. Won't lie.
very ambivalent about wins/losses at this point and rooting for them just not to get blown out. I feel the same way.I think they are in year 2 of a 3 year rebuild.if they finish 7-9 at this point it would be something.
What did we get after last season? Mara stands up there and tells the fans (his cash cows) what they want to hear. We, the fans get excited about the upcoming changes. What did we get? A new OC and the talent on this team did not improve. You could argue that it got worse.
John Mara's actions were nothing more than a tweak. If we want big changes, then this season needs to be a total embarrassment. We are at the point in time now where we have nothing to lose. It is not as if we are close and just a couple of pieces away. The team has been destroyed.
I was there when we burned the tickets in the parking lot and although I wish my father was alive today, I am glad he is not able to see this.
Remember the movie Tommy Boy? Well Reese is Chris Farley and that car he lit on fire in that guy's office is the Giants.
I was born in '52 and have watched the Giants my entire life ... watched every snap during the entirety of the 1970s ... and as bad as that decade was, I still loved watching the Giants ... even if they were out of the race, there was a sense that there was an effort being made to build something (as pathetic as that ultimately turned out to be) ... there were new players that were exciting to watch
But not this year. I mean Beckham is great. But that's it. And there is just this sense that this off season is going to be more about tearing everthing down, than about building things up. And if that happens, then we are in for an even longer wait until this team has a realistic shot at a SB once again.
So, yea, blah ... both to the record, the team, and the immediate future ... it's all BLAH
So that we shouldn't have to put up with this shit. He's the absolute last person I feel any empathy for. He's the biggest problem at this point and there are many problems. There is no way he should be back next year. He should have been let go with Gilbride.
Your 100% correct. Plus, he won't play the younger players and this has been the problem for that last several years. If he keeps his job, nothing will change
Very excited about these seven games and to see what our final record will be.
The NFL is a difficult business and I would say not for the weak of heart so I can understand how people have trouble losing. But can't say I feel the same.
I look forward to these games. These games count and it's always about competition and seeing how you measure yourself against the best the league has to offer. And if you can't how can you close that gap.
I look forward to every game the Giants play and reserve judgment till the end. I do have thoughts on what is going on but some things don't need to be said when they are obvious, such as when your defense is ranked dead last.
Excited to face the 49ers tomorrow.
Me too Eric. This roster is in terrible shape, major changes are in
When we win a Super Bowl, I have zero expectations for the next five years, this I watch these games stress free because I have no expectations. We still have some time left....
I enjoy watching them because they are my team and it is what I have always done and like Joe it started with my dad. If losing would keep me from watching and enjoying the Giants I would have stopped at some point a long time ago. Certainly it is more fun when they win but when they don't I still enjoy watching to see who does what and what happens on each play.
They are my team and I am a fan and watching them play each week has always been part of my life during football season and something I always look forward to. They play I watch, we go together, it's what we do. The day I start not feeling like watching Giants games will probably be the day I stop being a fan altogether and quit period. I doubt that ever happens but fair weather fan is not in my nature.
vs Philly and Dallas. The two team I hate the most in the NFL are battling each other for the division and potentially / probably... a first round bye. It sucks.
I'm all in on the Packers today. Looking forward to that game a lot more than I am Giants/49ers.

I watched every snap of every game throughout the '70s. And haven't missed one since. And I'll still watch. But - this team is the SINGLE MOST BORING TEAM and the SINGLE MOST BORING SEASON of my lifetime. Worse than every season of the '70s - heck worse than 1978 - and that's saying something.
I don't know, some of those late sixties to early seventies teams were pretty bad. I guess because I loved the rules of and the game itself so much more back then is the only reason I would agree with you, not because of the rosters.

Steve, I think the major difference for me back then was the lack of free agency. In other words, back in those days franchises used the draft to try to build something - you got a Brad Van Pelt and he was yours forever. A piece of the puzzle. So, even though the teams were bad, I was always interested in watching because there was a continuum from one year to the next - you were collecting draft picks that hopefully turned into championship after 4-5 years.
Of course - that was merely a dram during those years as we know. But still, I was always excited about watching every Giants game back then.
And I'm not excited now. I'm just guessing at why. I could be deed wrong about the causes of why I feel the way I do. But it is a very odd thing for me to literally LIVE for each Giants game for the past 50 years or so, and now, suddenly, to feel ... well ... BLAH (as Eric put it).
Maybe it also has something to do with the sense that I have that the franchise isn't going anywhere. That things are going to get worse before they get better. That changes are going to be made that likely result in a new head coach who almost certainly will not have the success or longeivity of of TC (odds are just against it). So, change the head coach and here is my prediction:
Giants go through 3 head coaches, 5 QBs, and zero Super Bowl appearances over between now and 2025. Maybe that's why I feel so "blah". I dunno.
On the bright side, it frees up Sundays to do something more enjoyable than watching this shit show. Like spending time with the kids, house work, etc.
I'll keep you up to date with the latest 'Batman v Superman' news! While you sip on some hot coco.
:)
You look for the positives and deal with the negatives.
at this point for the rest of the season, i would just like to see:
1. young giants who have not had a chance to get much playing time have a chance to play a lot aps - especially kennard, moore, bromley, behre, washington
2. No injuries to Eli, OB, & hankins
This had turned into a depressing clusterfuck, with injury bug again, and all with the digression of this team. And, yeah it sucks to be out of it all a couple weeks before Thanksgiving now.
yeah, even that is still a long 4 months away
Just want this season to be over and to be given some sense that something is going to change for the better.

due to the fact our fate is sealed. I guess it will be another interesting off season with FA signings, re-signings, and draft info. depending on what draft slot we have this year.

Yeah but the more we lose the better pick we get. I don't expect much for niners , dallas, and Eagles games. That's 3 right there. The rest I am curious to see if we show up.
I'll keep you up to date with the latest 'Batman v Superman' news! While you sip on some hot coco.

Hot Coco?
Through the Coughlin era, this has always been the case. Even though some of the December swoons were tough to take, at least we were in it.
To have meaningless football BEFORE Thanksgiving 2 seasons in a row is really tough to take. What better way to celebrate Thanksgiving than to watch how the games unfold and affect the Giants in the playoff push.
This year we don't have that and we get to watch Dallas and Philly fight it out for 1st place.
Ugh.
Its hard to swallow now but these bad years make the championship years taste a little sweeter. That is if we have any more
Schwartz - not young, but need to get him some work next to Pugh and shorten the learning curve for next season

Actually, the only really interesting stuff is Monday and Tuesday because there is so much anger and upset after another blowout loss.
Tom's 68 and has to be thinking "why do I have to put up with this shit"
Win or lose I still do more normal game day routine and even after 30 years of marriage my wife(most wonderful person alive)still sets her calender to the upcoming season.
I know a lot of fans are younger but I only have a set number of games left. I plan on finding something enjoyable about every one of them even if it's just the banter when commiserating with my son after a loss!

So much optimism destroyed and essentially a season derailed in blowout loss to our arch rival as our star goes down for the year (worst case scenario, never the same player).
It just annihilated our season.
The one plus side is I am free on Sunday afternoons to do things with my wife. At least I keep saying going to the this weekends Sugar Loaf craft festival is fun.
OBJ is about the only reason to watch this team at this point. How far we have fallen.
Coughlin is hte biggest problem, and not the horrendous O-line?
What coach could fix this dogshit O-line?
That, or even losing to them but knocking Romo around enough to damage their chances this season, that would work for me.

As a fan, no argument from me.
I was very disappointed that JR clearly didn't even come close to fixing the O-line which was the major broken component of our 2013 offense.
Clearly the odds are against us beating SF but being the optimist that I am I'm still thinking we can win this game.
Couple this with a lame duck DC and there's a decent chance a good number of players check out for good if we lose this week.
I wouldn't be surprised with back to back home blowouts the next two weeks.
I know that's weak. Sorry.
I would love to get back to power football and dominating the LOS. That doesn't seem to be the recipe league wide though. I do hope that Eli's successor is a mobile read option type of guy. The Seattle offense is my favorite to watch in the NFL...and they do it without their QB taking a pounding.
Win or lose I still do more normal game day routine and even after 30 years of marriage my wife(most wonderful person alive)still sets her calender to the upcoming season.

Why build an offense around a QB's running talent (which I still think is the enormous untapped weapon in the NFL) and then have an immobile backup that can't run the same offense? Makes no sense.
If every snap is an audition, they're gonna play hungry.
One other weakness is you also need to stock up on RBs because if you're offense is successful, you'll be giving it to your bellcow 25+ times a game and he's going to get some nicks and bruises.
Plus you need to be able to make plays in the air if/when your team falls behind.
Meanwhile, I have plenty to do with my extra time last season and this season.

CHEER UP!
By the way, Mara has ordered Fewell's straightjacket to be delivered on Saturday.
This is what we do.
bottom line, way more important things in life than NY Giants' football.
I'm miserable but the lack of heartbreaking close losses isn't something I miss. Won't lie.
Unfortunately, we do not have 5 teams with losing records cued up
But not this year.
Your 100% correct. Plus, he won't play the younger players and this has been the problem for that last several years. If he keeps his job, nothing will change
