Killer? Carl Banks. As for Larry Flowers. Back then story had it not only was he crazy on those special teams but he would run down the field screaming at the top of his lungs you can't block me you can't block me. That's one crazy dude.
Stacie Robinson, Joe Morris, Tony Galbreath. Bobby fourth and seventeen Johnson. Phil Simms. The Hoss, Jeff Hostetler.
Sorry to say It feels like we are heading into the dark ages when all we have to look forward too is looking back in time.
Maybe the best all around player the Giants ever had. Played RB, Split End, Flanker, reserve QB, and probably a few more I'm forgetting. A great Giant!
we signed rom the USFL.
Any leagues disbanding this offseason?
Or team in CFL?
I know he didn't play here, but Gary Zimmerman could find some hunting, fishing, and some trees to hug somewhere in NJ, PA or VA.
But the dude could not stay healthy. He'd catch a pass in the end zone and break his collarbone or something.
2007 after the win at Washington week 3 my friend next to me says he has formed a decent relationship with turner and proceeds to call him and puts me on the phone. I told him if we had him on the field that day we wouldn't have needed a goal line stand because he owned the skins back in the day. He laughed and agreed.
are missing Eric's original point. It's about having excellent backups who, once called to duty, did not drop the level of play that much. Lewis Tillman is a great example.
Also, Vencie Glenn? That guy was a good Charger but a horrible Giant. Plus he took out Bavaro's knee iirc. Let's cool off on the Canton talk.
Funny, I just googled Lurtsema and none of the pics look nearly as bad as I remember :)
Jimmy Robinson on specials.
William Roberts. Would love to have guys with their toughness on this team.

Could cover, great range, and could really hit.
but, admittedly - this is based on memory
also look at his Viking highlights to get a sense of his abilities.

Glenn covered a lot of ground and made some big plays, but ranking him among the best ever just rubs me wrong. He was here one year!
Where did I rank him among the greatest ever in franchise history?
That's where we miss Wilson too. He would have been a good fit for this offense.
Eric, this conversation is not complete without a mention of Thomas Lewis. Talked about unfulfilled potential.
Now that I think of it, would have been nice to have the Denver Bronco's version of Ed McCaffrey...
Cool. Can't wait to see where you rank Martellus Bennett ahead of Shockey and Bavaro!
but yeah whatever,
ignore the initial premise of it if you think it is inaccurate, but the general theme is the same.

(Surprised they were still left for me to mention!)

Cook story bro I know.
