Would the organization consider bringing back Parcells as G.M.? Keep Coughlin, get a new DC and let Parcells clean house. 2-3 years would do it. I would truly love to see Bill rejoin the organization. I think the fans would really like this as well.
They would have to find a new GM after Parcells retires after two years. Also Parcells has said that he doesn't want to do any job that is too demanding.
Coming in as an advisor. Perhaps as a part time scout. Point being, just get him involved again. I think he could help the organization and it would be a great public relations move. Things are just too depressing now.

Working for Mara isn't demanding. If it was, none of these guys would still be working here.
I would have zero interest in seeing this happen as a fan of the team. And I don't think the way he builds teams, specifically defenses is going to cut it in 2014. He's a big, tall, strong, heavy guy, but that worked really well when teams ran the ball 30-35 times a game. Now, those 245-265 pound linebackers would get crushed by all the hurry up pass offenses in the league. Could he change his philosophy? Sure anyone could. But would he at 73 years old after having done it only one way for almost 40 years?
Why would the Giants let go of a general manager, Jerry Reese, who has played a pivotal role in building two Super Bowl championship teams in just the last seven years?
Since Reese became the GM, in 2007, the Giants, by the most important measure, championships, have been the NFL's most successful franchise. All of that success has spoiled a lot of people.
In 2007, and again in 2011, the Giants were rewarded for sticking with the head coach and the quarterback through the good times and bad.
If John Mara had listened to the fans and the media, who are constantly calling for change, those last two Super Bowls would never have happened.
His best trait was motivating and dealing with the players. The GM job doesn't really play to his strong suit. Besides, he did that at Miami and wasn't exactly a big success.
nor should they but if they don't ask his opinion of who the next head coach of the Giants should be they're foolish. Parcells is still following the league and he'd be a great resource to vet potential candidates.
I don't think he would fit. He doesn't want the GM job. He doesn't want to coach. As an advisor, he wouldn't be accountable but would have the luxury of second guessing everything that happened.
He might be interesting as a special assignment scout. For example, he could attend college all star games and the combine to find the REAL football players.
we need to clean house and bring in innovative coaches from the college ranks that can infuse speed, athleticism, and physicality to this team.
Today's Giants are a bunch automatons playing out schemes from the booth without a feel for the game at all. Rolle was right speaking out about this years ago, only to be silenced.

Def this... LOL

Bill was really more Tim Mara's guy, anyway.
At his age, with his track record of leaving after about 4 years, he doesn't make much sense.
Why in the world would he want to stop what he is doing to take on a major rebuilding?
And, is he even the right one to do it?
Only BBI.
