So what did we all think of OBJ losing it at the end?

Josh in the City : 11/17/2014 10:46 am
When Eli missed him on that last offensive play for the turnover on down, OBJ took off his helmet and lost his shit. From the perspective of a fan, I actually liked seeing that kind of emotion and passion (even if it was frustrated passion) from one of our players finally. One of our only players who seems to go all out and give it his all...and from a rookie it's impressive. Complete opposite personality of Randle IMO. Haven't seen it discussed here and curious what everyone else thought.

and at least he wasnt taking a shit at the half
GMAN4LIFE : 11/17/2014 10:52 am : link
.
BTW I also
Josh in the City : 11/17/2014 10:52 am : link
heard that OBJ gave the pregame speech to the team before yesterday's game. Extremely impressive for a rookie.
I have to say that...
RC02XX : 11/17/2014 10:53 am : link
OBJ is becoming fan favorite for obvious reasons...and this just adds to it.

I still remember when people were talking about him possibly being a bust even before he played his first game...good times good time...
Not sure why anyone would have a problem with it.
kmed : 11/17/2014 10:53 am : link
Most probably love the intensity and how pissed he was. As long as he's not showing up a teammate, get pissed kid. I wish other people felt the same way.
I didn't think twice
Randy in CT : 11/17/2014 10:54 am : link
about him being frustrated.
he plays with passion,
GiantFanInTX : 11/17/2014 10:55 am : link
and how can you not love it? However, just because a guy isn't smashing his helmet doesn't mean he doesn't care.
OBJ
mrvax : 11/17/2014 10:58 am : link
is going to be a great Giant.
If the other guys
silverfox : 11/17/2014 11:00 am : link
...had 1/10 his passion for wanting to win, we'd be unstoppable.
He is very likley not used to loosing very much
Chef : 11/17/2014 11:02 am : link
And is frustrated by being on a team that stinks up the field on a weekly basis
Id rather everyone else had
kmed : 11/17/2014 11:02 am : link
1/10th of his talent.

No we wouldn't be.

OBJ is extraordinarily talented. Most of the guys on this team are not.

I love his passion and wish more guys had it but it wouldn't change the fact that the talent on this team is sub-par.
I'm with you guys
mfsd : 11/17/2014 11:03 am : link
i was happy to see one of our guys that pissed off about losing
Well at this point its a new experience for him
j_rud : 11/17/2014 11:05 am : link
He's lost more games this season than he has the last 4 years. That's gotta suck.

'Peter Finch moment'.
About time it came from a young player and not 'Trel in the media.
No teammate bus tossing.
And I agree with that not used to losing comment.
If we can replace Randle with another OBJ
Ace718 : 11/17/2014 11:06 am : link
Eli will be set for the next 5 years. Randle is an INT waiting to happen.
It was awesome.

Love the kid's fire.
Can we clone him
old man : 11/17/2014 11:08 am : link
and put about 100 lbs. each on 5 of those clones and build a rapid, fiery OL?

seems to think Beckham was injured on that last play

4th and 6 at NYG 19 (:35) (No Huddle, Shotgun) E.Manning pass incomplete deep middle to O.Beckham (A.Bethea). NYG-O.Beckham was injured during the play.

throwing helmets was an infraction in the past- I guess it wouldn't matter at that point
I knew he wasn't hurt. He was
section125 : 11/17/2014 11:40 am : link
pissed he missed that pass. He has not yet shown the speed - still a bit slowed by the hammy. Can't wait to see when that gets rectified.
Hope like hell Cruz heals well.
I'm glad he's passionate,
Curtis in VA : 11/17/2014 11:42 am : link
I just hope the other "veteran" players who aren't anymore don't end up sucking it out of him.
not the finest display of catching. if you look close, he tips it
Ten Ton Hammer : 11/17/2014 11:43 am : link
to himself. Just a ridiculous pro play.

Look at the leap, too. Not vertical, he's going side to side.

He tips it to himself.

And it looks like he's leaping horizontally.

Err..again

I seriously almost close my eyes every time we throw it in Randles direction
So does Randle...

WHAT!!??! Did you see him run down and make the tackle after one of Eli's picks? Fastest guy on the field by a wide margin.
Been following the Giants for over 35 years
stompuout : 11/17/2014 2:07 pm : link
and this kid is easily the best offensive player I've seen with this team. Never owned a Giant jersey until I picked up his after debut in the Falcon game and with that being said, have not experience a Giant win with his #13.

oh well. good enough to be posted.
I'm happy with it
eightshamrocks : 11/17/2014 2:14 pm : link
Beckham is a fiery, dynamic, emotional leader of this offense. This is something that has been missed ever since Shockey departed. I think its great for the team. Obviously, I was one who thought Shockey never should have been traded, and I think Beckham is a guy who brings the same emotional spark to this team that Shockey brought.
ODell

should be a team captain next season. Sorry Cruz
I wish the other WR's would match his energy
David in LA : 11/17/2014 2:44 pm : link
the guy left everything on the field, glad someone is showing fire and frustration.
I was hoping it was a sign of a little frustration
Blue21 : 11/17/2014 2:57 pm : link
and not immaturity. He's definitely a competitor that's for sure. He's going to be a great one IMO.
My impression of that was that he was upset
The Duke : 11/17/2014 3:08 pm : link
with himself more than anything for not catching that pass. Granted it would have been a terrific catch, but it did hit him in his outstretched hands when he layed out for it. I like players who play with passion for the game!
he has a lot of fire and talent
djm : 11/17/2014 3:13 pm : link
which probably means diva in the making. LEt's hope Beckham isn't too bat shit crazy about 3 years from now.
You keep posting that he is a diva in the making

based on what? The position? His emotion?

On the stereotype that good WRs are divas.
Not all Wrs are divas
djm : 11/18/2014 1:41 pm : link
But it just seems like that position lends itself to diva like behavior. We've had a few of our own here over the last 5-10 years.
Last year alone
djm : 11/18/2014 1:43 pm : link
The NFC east alone sported three. Maybe diva is the wrong word. Drama queen works too.
Good, people should be pissed.
giantgiantfan : 11/18/2014 3:22 pm : link
I was always pissed when I was on a losing team growing up. When I played goalie in ice hockey, I'd beat the fuck out of the goal posts when ever someone scored on me, even if we were still up 5-1 with a minute remaining.

Competitiveness and anger, good things.
I was fine with it, but
steve in ky : 11/19/2014 6:19 am : link
I don't think he was showing the emotion because Eli missed him as alluded to in the OP but rather because he was made at himself because he probably is the type of player who always expects to make the play and it was a big moment.

SanFranGiantsFan : 11/19/2014 6:21 am : link
Loved it. I wish the entire team had his desire & passion to be the best.

I know what jersey I'm getting for next season.

I think it had to do with this. He practices difficult catches so that shouldn't been out of his wheelhouse, but he missed it.
Kid's a baller...
