Quick observation re: red zone fades

zxasqw12 : 11/17/2014 5:37 pm
A few of us were discussing the predominance of red zone fade calls at work this morning. One of my associates suggested that the Giants should start calling some tackle-eligible plays.

Someone quickly seconded that idea with the observation that since the tackles weren't doing much of anything else, we might as well start sending them out into patterns.

Let's make sure this doesn't get over to the Giants' coaching staff because they will probably interpret it as fades to tackles
if they want to throw fades all the time

They have a 6'5 guy that showed he can do just that.

He can't get a snap if his life depended on it.

Can't think of any other reason why he isn't on the field over Parker.

Your friends watched Sunday night football because the Colts scored a TD by doing that.
That first one was a terrible call ...

The WR was one on one with no one on the inside, it should have been changed by Eli to a slant which would have had a much better chance of success
Listening to Eli on WFAN with Francesa

Eli indicated that there were other options on these plays including running the ball but because of how the defence lined up, the one on one matchup was the call he made to go to with the fade.
