Not saying it will happen, just saying if it does the replacement should be a defensive guy. Maybe someone like Vic Fangio (who if we hired him in 2010 as D coordinator......blah blah blah)
So my next leap is with our horrible D do we move to a 3-4?
Ayers - Hankins - JPP
Moore - Kennard - McClain - Williams (or 2nd round pick)
I know I am dreaming but it feels better then re-watching current games. Keeping McAdoo would be nice as well. Plus, Many wanted Fangio in 2010.
Lots of leaps but I can dream. A dominate Defense would be nice to have.
I've mentioned Dan Quinn before.
As fans we get too caught up on which side of the ball the coach is from; We've had 4 straight from the O side but have had good defenses. No one thought Indy would hire a coach from the D side when drafting Luck but they did. I highly doubt though it matters since they won't fire TC nor is he ready to retire but if either occurred you'd;have to give Quinn a long look along with Adam Gase Mc Daniels and Bowels among others..

I really like Bowles. I think he is HC material. He's got lots of ideas, but is flexible, adaptive in terms of what he's got to work with versus what he will be facing.
He's played in the league, can relate to the grind that players face and what they are thinking on the field and this year might be his finest work so far.
Just a lot of pluses. I'm not sold on Quinn. He largely inherited a D that Carroll and Bradley built. It's a D that is not as good as the past few years too.
Fangio is solid as a defensive mind, but he's had a wealth of talent to play with in SF after a pretty nondescript coaching career before heading to coach under Harbaugh at Stanford.
Sean Payton,if available, if we went offensive.
Anything is better at this point. I prefer the 3-4 defense mainly because of linebacker play. Not saying 3-4 is better overall. With the players we currently have I think we are as close to being able to switch to a 3-4 as we have been in over a decade. That isn't saying much though.
