Here it is my annual 2 cents worth!
The problem as I and a lot of others see is this; it is all about time of release.Getting the ball out of your hands.
McAdoo's west coast is predicated on getting the ball out of Eli's hands in 3 to 5 seconds, that plain and simple is not happening ,if you watch the tape it shows 7 and longer either Eli or Coughlin is changing the calls and sending us back to the old days. Nobody has a great offensive line anymore, however the Aron Rodgers and such can escape the pocket Eli CAN'T and WON'T for the most part. The bottom line with all this is when Eli listens to McAdoo's call's we are somewhat successful and when He and Coughlin chose not to He will stand back there and force the ball to receivers and wind up with drops and interceptions.
In life the older we are we are resistant to change, however in the real world successful people hire people to do either what they can't or don't want to do. I believe in the Giant's case there is a reluctance to change to McAdoo's system on the part of either Coughlin or Eli or both.
No offence can opperate the way it is meant to when they can.t run the ball and the QB is under constant pressure.I don't believe there is any reluctance to run McAdoo's offence, just an inability to because of the awful play of the line.
