If Fox put in a good word for Del Rio, I could see them going that route. I'd rather they didn't, but I'm not doing the hiring.
This. He sent Cutler packing in favor of Tebow...says it all.
Coughlin and Eli aren't the problem.
If Mara is serious about turning this around a new Gm is needed
Take a look at guys from Arizona, Seattle and SF.

The Broncos traded Cutler a full season before Tebow was ever drafted.
After Shanahan was fired, Cutler expressed his dissatisfaction and didn't want to play for the new coach, but yeah revisionist history is beautiful.
and yeah, trading Cutler looks asinine right now, doesn't it? The guy is a complete shit show with an awful contract.
Don't bother mentioning that it was McDaniels who drafted Demaryius Thomas, Eric Decker, Knowshon Moreno, Perrish Cox, Robert Ayers, Zane Beadles, etc. in a whopping two drafts there.
Plus he was 33 years old.
I'm not in the "fire" Coughlin camp. This team has so many problems that no coach could be successful, but if you want to argue that 11 years is a long time in the NFL and it's time to move on then I think you bring in Bowles (DC Arizona) contingent upon keeping MacAdoo.
That said, I hope Tom Coughlin is still the coach next season, with an improved OL and other roster upgrades.
Good question.
Seems like a Monty Kiffin type where he's destined to be a coordinator.
Arians is one, just guessing the list of first time head coaches who are over 55 for the first time they become head coaches is short.
If Bradley becomes available, pray that the Giants dump Fewell and sign Bradley even if the Giants have to buy out Fewell's contract.
Enough mediocrity at DC- let's get a guy with a few brains in his head.
college would be Malzahn
re-tread would be Gruden
and current HC who could be fired; I don't see a guy on that list I'd rather have over TC. I wouldn't fire him if those are the replacement candidates. Maybe if I had to pick one it would be Morrone, just seems like his team consistently plays hard as they rack up losses.
I wonder what his odds would be.

Didn't he get two first round picks for Cutler? I'd argue that the reason the Broncos are where they are right now is because of that move.
In hindsight, I'd say that sounds like a damn good haul for the Broncos and McDaniels. Maybe he saw then what we all saw now.
I'm sure there's a reason Belichick hired him back, I mean, he's a smart guy... no?
RG3: three 1sts and a 3rd
Eli: 1st, 3rd, 5th
Belichick is Belichick because of Belichick. None of his assistants have ever been anything special.
Their defense is good.
including a win over the Patriots.
They finished up 8 - 8 (one of the two wins a blowout over the Giants). He didn't make it through his second season.
I think in addition to trading Cutler (which I thought was a good move then and now) he also traded Brandon Marshall which turned out to be very unpopular then and looked worse in time.
In any event, he was 33 and 34 years old.
I think his game planning on offense is some of the most creative in the game and he figures out how to make the most of his personnel.
without Gronkowski and no other real weapons the Patriots were a welker pick on aqib talib away from going to the Super Bowl.
Largely on the back of the offense.
I think Belichick is the best coach of all time, but I don't give him credit for the offensive game plan or play calling.
I'd give McDaniels a shot.
I see McDaniels as a similar case, possibly.
David Shaw knows the blueprint to beating Chip Kelly's offense which is a team we have to play 2 times a year.

even be in this conversation? He rode the Harbaugh recruiting wagon his first few years and now they suck.

That blueprint must have gotten lost this year.
From what I've gathered, it appears Fangio prefers to be a lifelong DC over being an HC.
Britt, I'd like you to specifically point out how their foundation was remotely good. What gems did Josh McDaniels leave the Broncos? That's a statement born in crap to believe he put them in a better position to get Peyton. McDaniels' drafts in 3 years only yielded Demaryus Thomas, and Eric Decker…let's not forget to mention they burned a 1st on Tebow. If anything, it was John Fox and Elway who had more to do with making Denver attractive to Peyton.

That was 2011. McDaniels had nothing to do with that offense.
He's my #1.
