Me too. If Coughlin goes I wouldn't be upset if he were the replacement. Those were his Jet teams that went to the AFC title games.
Bowles is a local guy too. From Elizabeth.
I would make a run at Harbaugh if he is walks away from 49ers.
As much as I would not like rooting for him, I would not be opposed to Harbaugh if he is let go.
But, I like the same two guys. Jon Gruden may be annoying on MNF, but he was a pretty good coach in multiple stops with a very good mind for the game.
He's 38 years old and though his first HC job was a failure, his QB's were Kyle Orton and Tim Tebow.
I like the way he adjusts the offense and uses the weapons at his disposal by putting them in position to succeed - for the most part.
There's zero chance Bowles turns down the Giants if they offer him the job.
I think he cares about the defense.
A lot of people wanted Tebow. I wouldn't make him the GM, but I think he could be good as a coach.
Mike Smith isn't getting fired if Atlanta backs into a division title and hosts a playoff game.
My dark horse for a firing is Jay Gruden.

If hiring Del Rio meant the same type of success as we did with Coughlin.... sign me up in a milisecond.
I'm surprised with the 8-1 odds. I think he'd be a good choice for almost any team.
I can see the Giants hiring him, but I'd prefer a younger, more creative mind.
If Fox put in a good word for Del Rio, I could see them going that route. I'd rather they didn't, but I'm not doing the hiring.
This. He sent Cutler packing in favor of Tebow...says it all.
Coughlin and Eli aren't the problem.
If Mara is serious about turning this around a new Gm is needed
Take a look at guys from Arizona, Seattle and SF.

The Broncos traded Cutler a full season before Tebow was ever drafted.
After Shanahan was fired, Cutler expressed his dissatisfaction and didn't want to play for the new coach, but yeah revisionist history is beautiful.
and yeah, trading Cutler looks asinine right now, doesn't it? The guy is a complete shit show with an awful contract.
Don't bother mentioning that it was McDaniels who drafted Demaryius Thomas, Eric Decker, Knowshon Moreno, Perrish Cox, Robert Ayers, Zane Beadles, etc. in a whopping two drafts there.
Plus he was 33 years old.
I'm not in the "fire" Coughlin camp. This team has so many problems that no coach could be successful, but if you want to argue that 11 years is a long time in the NFL and it's time to move on then I think you bring in Bowles (DC Arizona) contingent upon keeping MacAdoo.
That said, I hope Tom Coughlin is still the coach next season, with an improved OL and other roster upgrades.
