Blount- Yes we need RB but Giants wont do shit about it

The SCHEME : 11/18/2014 11:26 pm
Le'Von Bell ran for over 200 yards they love this guy. He is back of the future for Pittsburgh. Bell received a critical opportunity and capitalized , he will receive all available opportunities, and is ready for prime time. He recorded one of the highest running totals in Pittsburgh history including Franco Harris and Jerome Bettis. Pittsburgh sees a future and Bell's time is here.

Blount didn't quit I think he realized he needs to leave the company while he is still young enough to contribute to a new company. His leverage in the backfield as a running back for Pittsburgh was now going to become very limited, as the Steelers have put faith in Bell.

He would almost be terminated as a starter for the rest of the season. Its still a third left in the season. Since he forced his release his future is elsewhere. He wanted out and Bell is in. We have Rashad Jennings as our starter but we need assistance in that department. Welcome

Giants have a position available! Blount should be claimed. He was very productive in the playoffs recording 200 plus rushing total for the Patriots.

Why wont the Giants claim him. Please, I don't want to here about the quitting theory. This seems to the classic free agent decision, to leave the company and find another job.

Depends...

Blount was always a spare part.

is another player with an attitude problem. This isn't the first time this guy has raised a red flag, pass.
Holy shit

Was he a captain in grade school? Seriously, Blount packs a punch and has no problem knocking a bro out on 4th and inches. I have no issue bringing him in.

Yes sir!
He threw me by a 100% improvement in coherence

He's only semi - incoherent now.
No comment on his cage

what are you talking about? The Visors doesn't mean anything. Let's pick up runner.
Does it really matter at this point?
illmatic : 11/19/2014 1:16 am : link
They aren't making the playoffs. They might as well just toss some kid in there and hope you somehow strike gold.

Unless you think someone like Blount or Tate will help you to get a higher draft position. Then by all means, go for it. Tate would certainly do the trick there. He sucks.
no thanks

Blount wants more playing time and pouted like a little boy when he didn't get it. Left his teammates on the field with one minute left and did his thing by walking off the field before the end of the game. What does that tell you?

Think?

He isn't going to be getting playing time ahead of Jennings or Williams. And with this Offensive line nobody can run behind it.

BBI after a loss and a losing season is unbearable. The countless threads that are started without thought process and intelligence are amazing.

Had no idea bell has been starter for three years and Blount is on what 4th team in 5 years? This is s semi gimmick back who had one good 1/2 year in Tampa and from the outside seems to be an ahole
Let's see

Blount got himself pretty much tossed off the team from Belichick, had a chance in Pittsburgh and sulked his way to the point that there were rumbles that the players on the team wanted him released a month ago, coming to a head when he walked off before a game ended.

I wonder what other front office and ownership is very close with the Giants ownership, to the point they are even literally related, and would be in position to tell the Giants all they need to know about Blount and why they got rid of him.

I'd say that's why Blount won't be coming here.
If I recall corrrectly
Fred-in-Florida : 11/19/2014 6:50 am : link
didn't he punch out an opponent on National TV when he was in College? Oregon right?

I don't want assholes on the team. If an entire Pittsburgh team wanted him gone, and not the front office, why bring him here?

BTW, RB is the least of our problems. Give Jennings and Williams an OL and they'd rack up yardage.
this from the same guy...

Supposedly the team was worried about him being a bad influence on
JOrthman : 11/19/2014 8:17 am : link
Bell.
Blount running behind our OL would average about
PSIMMS 22-25-268 : 11/19/2014 8:36 am : link
0.5 yards per carry.
he is better than Cox
chuckydee9 : 11/19/2014 9:11 am : link
This is what he did not less than 12 months ago..
On December 29, 2013, Blount led the Patriots to a playoff bye with a win over the Buffalo Bills by rushing for 189 yards on 24 carries scoring 2 TDs and returning 2 kickoffs for 145 yards with a long of 83 yards. Blount set a franchise record for all-purpose yards with 334 yards.

On January 11, 2014, Blount rushed for four touchdowns setting the Patriots record for most rushing touchdowns in a playoff game and is second on the all time list for rushing touchdowns in a playoff game, only behind Ricky Watters, who scored 5 in a playoff win against the New York Giants in 1994. In addition to the feat, Blount finished the day with 166 rushing yards on 24 carries, as the Patriots defeated the Colts with a final score of 43-22.[69]

He was brought in as a semi-RBBC who was suppose to get touches... once bell started kicking ass there was no room for him.. Is he a bad team mate for leaving a minute early? yes but who the fuck cares.. Its not like we have great team chemistry and this guy would ruin it and harm our season..

RJ is at best a lead RBBC.. he is not built nor is he good enough to be a lead rusher.. There is nothing to waste in picking him up.. if he plays well we can spend the draft and FA resources elsewhere...
would absolutely be a talent upgrade....
BeerFridge : 11/19/2014 9:25 am : link
but he's on like his 5th team for a reason.

He left BEFORE THE GAME WAS OVER. This is the equivalent of having a big project at your job and deciding before it's over, "You know what? They're not using me the best they should. Fuck em."

Screw "kick the tires." Just shoot em out and be done with it.

Why don't you just try to spring Aaron Hernandez
jeff57 : 11/19/2014 10:02 am : link
and convert him to running back while you're at it.

They need a receiver like Jason Avant more than a third running back. Besides, with this line, Jim Brown would have trouble averaging 4 yards a carry.
He was also
RinR : 11/19/2014 10:09 am : link
arrested on marijuana charges during training camp this year.

If that was his only offense, maybe give him a look. But his past is littered with erratic behavior.
We don't "need" a running back,
barens : 11/19/2014 11:21 am : link
that's one position that's perfectly fine right now.
He was arrested with Bell
JOrthman : 11/19/2014 11:35 am : link
They are afraid he is a bad influence on him. Is this a guy you want to bring in with all the young players we have on the team?

Unintended (or was it intended) comedy using puns to describe Blount...ha!
