The 2015 semifinalists were announced last night, but the category I was most invested in was the newly designated Contributor category. This was designed to separate significant executives from players and coaches, and make it easier for overlooked deserving candidates who have been lost in the shuffle to receive enshrinement.
I truly thought that George young, who was a finalist in 2003, 2004 and 2005, would finally get his overdue recognition this year.
I'm not knocking the two gentlemen who took have taken the next step, they are deserving as well. I'm mostly bothered because Young should already be in. I'm not going to bother reciting his list of accomplishments again, it's been done many times and we all know them. This feels like Harry Carson all over again to me.

I agree that George Young deserves consideration and will get there eventually.
This whole semi finalist, finalist thing reminds me more of torture for those who are waiting then to just make the announcement and get it over with, but then again the NFL profits again and again from drawing things out for publicity.
2) I went to the hall of fame after our SB win in '90 and again after our SB win in '11. In those 21 years, the statue room that houses the busts of all the members has grown exponentially. It used to be a small room and had an intimate feel. Now it goes on forever. If I ran the hall, I would be worried about what that room will look like in another 20 years. I would be in no rush to add more and more names. I think I would try to limit more who gets in.
3) The Pro Football Hall of Fame is not owned or operated by the NFL. They are their own business, and they don't have a ton of money to throw around to add more rooms, bigger spaces, etc. They are kind of a mom and pop operation, and I actually kind of like that. So I'd like to see GY in there as a Giants fan, but I can understand why he might not make it.
