My wife and I are strongly considering a trip to Vegas for a few days between Christmas and New Years, but don't know what to do with our 7- and 5-year old sons while there. Has anyone gone with kids that age, and what kind of kid-friendly activities, if any, are available? We've looked at websites, but I'm looking for a more first-hand perspective. (My gambling activities would mostly have to be confined to after the kids go to sleep.) Thanks.
You're welcome.
Different casinos have movies and bowling too. It's sort of Disneyland with gambling.
Resort offers a free shuttle to the strip several times per day so you can go to the strip, walk around, grab a bite, see a show, etc. Red Rocks also has some great restaurants for you and wife and fast food options (Pizza, Panda Express, Rubio's) to get the kids something quick. I believe the pool is heated in the winter and the hot tubs are great.
So we could learn how to make 20 bucks in quarters last 3 hours at the arcade?

Thanks!! This seems like exactly what we're looking for, I will check it out.

and they love it. We were just there a couple weeks ago. They are 11, 9 and 7. Highly recommend you stay off the strip at Red Rocks Resort. Most kid friendly hotel/resort you will find. Bowling alley, movie theater and arcade all on property. Best part is the kids club that is on property. Our kids could spend all day there if we let them. Basketball court, wii/Nintendo, arts and crafts, etc. This is when I get my gambling in.

I checked TripAdvisor and the hotel website very quickly, but this seems like exactly what we're looking for. Have to check more extensively later when I have some time, but we may have a winner. Thanks again.
There was a lot to do. most mentioned already, but there is also red rock canyon a short drive away, and many, many activities to do on or off the strip.
but...it wouldn't be my first choice and if I didn't have their grandparent there for them to see we wouldn't have chosen Vegas to go to.
I just kinda think that it would be annoying to take the kids there because I'd want to do all the adult stuff they can't. Better to do a reg family thing and be all in on that instead, but that's just me. Your mileage may vary.
In better weather I'd be thinking more about the pool, but even there I think those two have nice family pools.
In that case, it's probably a really good place. There are kid things to do, and then you can ditch them at least once with family for a night of Vegas adult time.
there is M&M world, the sites of the strip just walking around like the Mirage volcano, inside Venetian is pretty cool, and then Circus Circus is a half day at least (it's kind of dirty, but it's vegas).
NY NY has things to see and there's a mall (Fashion Show Mall?)
and that's all downtown, but there's Hoover Dam, Red Rock Canyon, and other places if you want to drive.
Seriously dude. It's Vegas and like New Orleans, it's a gateway to hell.
It's good for the kids because there are tons of flashy lights and tons of visual stimulation.
Start in arizona at the grand canyon and work your way to vegas for 2 nights.
1 night to do the sight seeing on the strip
1 day to visit the redrock national park
and eat at bouchon, roku, and lotus of siam.
you're kids might also like a side trip to the Hoover Dam, an engineering miracle.

All good ideas except for lotus of Siam. It's not bad, but as a huge fan of Thai food, I was disappointed. There are at least 2 places in a 25 mile radius of me in nj I would rather eat at than LOS. Big menu and good foud, but was underwhelmed to say the least.
