especially with the leather helmets.

Even though I never saw any of them play, I've developed an affinity for certain players doing research and going through old newspapers and game programs. They're like time capsules. You can get a pretty good feel for what the era they played in was like and what a group characters Steve Owen liked to surround himself with.
I consider myself very fortunate to have seen them play

in all stadiums including the Polo Grounds going back to 1934,Yankee Stadium,Yale Bowl,Shea Stadium, Giants Stadium and the drab MetLife Stadium.
My first game was 1939

My father and his two brothers were at the first game in 1925

The best running back I saw was Steve Van Buren. He had some big days against the Giants. It is amazing how many successful coaches the Giants produced including Landry and
